  1. 1. You receive an Emergency Broadcast System message from the station’s Artificial Intelligence. It claims that there is an emergency situation, and requests an immediate ERT deployment. How do you respond?
  2.
  3. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:00
  4. I'd ask for more information regarding the situation, if possible, but also advise use of the emergency beacon
  5.
  6. I'd also send a fax to any head of staff to confirm if any were active
  7.
  8. Lancer — Today at 11:01
  9. There are no other heads of staff, the antags have taken over the station 1 hour in.
  10.
  11. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:04
  12. Well since I'd probably know that from Dchat, it would be up to the admins to do the actual spawning I believe, unless CCIA can do it proper
  13.
  14. But I'd still run it by any active admins and see if there is a way to shoot out the emergency beacon rather then preparing an NT ERT, those guys stomp
  15.
  16. I can't recall all the tools that CCIA agents have at their disposal
  17.
  18. And the response would also depend on the type of antag team it is, Burglars would be a different response then Mercs
  19. Lotta variables in this one, since it really just depends on station composition and antag aptitude
  20.
  21. Lancer — Today at 11:05
  22. you can view antags, talk in aooc, fax, send announcements, reply to EBS
  23.
  24. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:07
  25. If the threat was very real and everything was ruined proper, yeah I'd probably poke an admin to either launch the beacon for the station or see what I could do to assist, it sounds like a very bad situation and would have impacted the round probably considerably
  26. No way to salvage it really after that, but ending the situation then calling an evacuation station side would get it over with faster
  27.
  28. And if the antags control the station so well, there probably isn't a way to get the spare and appoint a temporary captain
  29.
  30. Lancer — Today at 11:09
  31. alright
  32. 2. You receive a fax from the NT Liaison, who claims that the Captain has been abusing his authority by removing all of the vending machines from the station and has demoted an engineer for littering. How do you respond?
  33.
  34. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:14
  35. Well the Captain has ultimate authority there, but that is a problem
  36.
  37. And since a Liaison from Nanotrasen a quick response would be needed but still nothing over the top, I'd send a fax back and say go through the process outlined in electing a temporary captain and stripping the current captain of authority
  38.
  39. The only response from us that is needed is "Yes the Captain is out of line slightly, but no we aren't doing anything there is processes for this on station"
  40. Well, that is wrong by my own admission
  41.
  42. I was thinking more of player fun there admittedly
  43. Realistically
  44.
  45. The captain is the ultimate authority, and is expected to do what is best for the company and all
  46. But still jerk move but within their power
  47.
  48. Lancer — Today at 11:17
  49. 3. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?
  50. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:20
  51. Well I'd say do whatever at their discretion really, they have the funding for it on station, but I'd also say that the Icarus' scanners will be used to try and validate this claim
  52.
  53. I wouldn't give a yes or no to keep the round type still a mystery and not give OOC information IC, but i also wouldn't shut down the gimmick or the round and all that
  54.
  55. Lancer — Today at 11:22
  56. 4. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?
  57. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:28
  58. I don't think Central should REALLY have a massive impact on the round at all
  59.
  60. Central should really only react in times of great peril or like, actual station violations
  61.
  62. With the station procedure violations a fax should be enough to just be the "We control your paycheck" guys
  63. But in times of actual emergency (and when Antags have just devastated the station) they should mount a rescue operation to pull people out and kill the bad guys (end the round so it's just over with)
  64.
  65. Central should either be a no influence and a guiding hand, or round ending if the antags were exceptionally not fun
  66. To me it depends on what the Antags are actually doing
  67.
  68. Most of the time never jump in, but if the antags went away taking away fax machines and ganking command in maints (and no one ahelped it) then Central should be called in
  69.
  70. Lancer — Today at 11:30
  71. 5. What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system?
  72. Myphicbowser — Today at 11:32
  73. To add consequences to being a moron ICly and to make the universe feel alive
  74.
  75. It's a neat system, really, that makes actions have consequences and get players involved
  76.
  77. It's purpose isn't to ruin fun, since if it made it it the IR stage, it's an IC issue, the best kind of issue
  78.
  79. Lancer — Today at 11:32
  80. okay, that would be all
