  1. The Venetian Chronicles: Trent Hammond
  2.
  3. Yuuko: (fumbling with the camera before mounting it on a tripod. Before adjusting the focus on the camera and Clearing her throat) this is Council envoy Yuuko Shirakawa, agent of the dragon, and historian for the archives in Dublin Ireland. As part of the Chronicles initiative, I am interviewing active agents from the 21st century so that future generations may better understand the context in which events are taking place. This session is being recorded on 02/01/2017, in Greenfield Ireland, at the Green residence.
  4. Yuuko: Could you please state your full name, date of birth, affiliation and rank.
  5. Trent: “Hammond, Trent. DoB October 6th, ‘91. Currently freelancing but loosely affiliated with the Dragon.”
  6. Yukko: Can you tell us about your family?
  7. Trent lets out a feeble sigh: “I suppose, if I must. Think a nest of vipers with knives hidden behind their backs. That’s pretty much the gist of it. I left them behind as soon as I was able to. Good riddance, I say.”
  8. Yuuko: Where did you grow up?
  9. Trent: “All over Europe, mostly. I went wherever… opportunity… led me.”
  10. Yuuko: How would you describe your childhood?
  11. Trent: “A harsh teacher that imparted me with very valuable lessons.”
  12. Yuuko: How were you first introduced to the secret world?
  13. Trent: “A bug found its way into my digestive apparatus. I think you know what I mean.”
  14. Yuuko: Did you have any contact (either directly or indirectly) with your society before your powers awakened?
  15. Trent ponders for a second, then speaks: “I wasn’t aware of any. Though, in retrospect, they were pretty quick to snag, bag and toss me out of a moving van when I swallowed a bee so I wonder if they weren’t keeping an eye on me already.”
  16. Yuuko: Can you tell us what a normal day looks like for you?
  17. Trent: “I’m usually either looking for a fool’s errand or lost cause to champion. That or I’m seeing one through to its inevitable, disastrous end.”
  18. Yuuko: Has your work for your society ever brought you into contact with anyone who would be considered historically significant (world leaders, celebrities, scientist and engineers.)
  19. Trent: “I did run into a famous writer once during my travels. I suspect most of the people we meet in our line of work will never make it to the history books for what they really are, though. At least not in those sold outside of Venice.”
  20. Yuuko: Have you ever seen an event reported in the media and known that it was a lie and if so can you tell us what really happened?
  21. Trent: “Have you known ANY news report to be accurate? There are as many truths as there are people telling a story, and none of those usually adheres to the facts. I suppose the whole mess in Kaidan would be a prime example of news being anything but news.”
  22. Yuuko: What was the last event you can remember that shook both the secret world and the mundane equally?
  23. Trent: “Again, Kaidan comes to mind. So much death in such an overt fashion.”
  24. Yuuko: Have you ever participated in an event considered historically important to the mundane world and if so was it on behalf of your society
  25. Trent: “Don’t we go to great lengths to keep the the secret stuff from spilling over to the mundane? I’d say my involvement has been more into keeping things historically irrelevant to the mundane world rather than the opposite”
  26. Yuuko: Thank you for taking the time to speak with us agent Hammond.
  27. Trent: “T’was a pleasure.”
