  3. Final Cancellation League Update (with thoughts sprinkled throughout)
  4. Before we begin, let me thank you all for the enthusiastic response this league has had throughout the 2014-15 TV season. No matter how long and exhausting the score-keeping and verification was, it made it all worthwhile to watch the advancements, the falls backward and the draws among you fine contestants.
  5.
  6. Our lowest rung, of course, belongs to a contestant whose can’t-do spirit delighted us all. With -2864 points, Polar Bears! *PB slides by on melting ice cap, receives $1.98, cheap crown and vegetable bouquet*
  7.
  8. InActionMan – -2549 points
  9. The Narrator Returns -- -694 points
  10. beema -- -381 points
  11. SamECircle -- -144 points
  12.
  13. Many contestants who participated in Pick-a-Pilot scored points with this week’s reveals of the new fall schedules. It was worth 300 points if a show had a guaranteed premiere date and timeslot on the fall schedule, and 50 points extra if the correct timeslot was given. Two contestants – Aspiring Internet Commentator and Truncated Parallelpiped -- achieved that. For shows that were slated for midseason without a set premiere date or timeslot, a still pretty impressive 100 points. If it had a timeslot but not a premiere date, 150 points.

  25.
  26. Although the game ends today, I did take points for the burnoffs that will continue this week and beyond. For instance, people who chose Stalker get a point for tomorrow’s episode, people who chose Battle Creek get it for tonight and the episode airing May 24, people who chose American Odyssey (which I gave de facto cancellation points for, because, c’mon
  27. ) get points for the remainder of the season, and such on. I also remembered to give points for the last burnoffs of Marry Me and Revenge.

  46. The multiple-episodes-in-one-night burnoff was a surefire point-gainer this week. Undatable scored 25 points for its two episodes on Tuesday, while The Following was worth 35 points for its two episodes Monday, and CSI: Cyber was worth 45 points for its three episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Speaking of CSI, yes, I gave 75 points for the mothership being cancelled, and 30 for Peter McNichol leaving Cyber.

  83. Two contestants remain, Eolith and fieldafar. Both have been truly remarkable players. Eolith held onto the top position of the league for over six months, and scored the hat trick of picking this season’s first three flops (an honor I held last year). Fieldafar was never too far behind, and scored plenty of burnoff points throughout the winter and spring. The surprise renewal of Galavant hurt both contestants’ scores, and at one point, the gap between them was a mere five points. However, a crucial cancellation led to a winner. Second place goes to
  84.
  85.
  86. fieldafar, with 4553 points. Eolith is our new winner with 4848 points!

  89. Hearty congratulations to you, Eolith. I hope to have the Dead NBC Peacock merit badge (available upon request) ready in time for the fall. Ballots for next season’s league will be accepted starting Sunday, August 2. Just remember, folks
  90. the next winner could be you!
