  12. #2 - The Big Announcement (Kitching back on STC for the Sonic Adventure adaptation)
  13. #3 - Kitching responds to Ed's accusations that some of his strips were "tripe" :P

  29. Re: SEGAs input
  30. Kitching talks about Sega's hands-off approach ("The organisation of Sega Europe did seem to be a bit chaotic and as time went by seemed to show little interest in the contents of the comic. Also it came to the point the we on the comic had been involved with Sonic and co longer than any of the people we came into contact with."), the link between Sega and Copyright Promotions, and the way that the book Stay Sonic was referenced. The idea that Sonic should be a freedom fighter came from someone from Sega, before he was aware of the SatAM cartoon.

  34. The STC 2002 year in review (including the 2002 highlight of the year award)
  35. Jan 1, 2003
  36. Doctor Zachary (Tom) sums up one of the list's most active years with lots of frivolous jokes/juicy gossip, including a collection of context-less quotes from Kitching:
  37. "What is 133t?"
  38. "I've never quite got this whole business of imagining sex lives for these genitally challenged characters."
  39. "Things were about to get better. But first Mark Millar had to go..."
  40. "I spoke to Steve McManus today by the way. Just to see if he could send me my missing issues. He told my that an irate STC fan turned up at the offices and had to be calmed down. There are some strange people out there..."

  44. Roberto Corona Sep 19, 2002
  45. Roberto Corona talks about the model sheets from the Sonic 3D era, which restricted the artists in how they could draw certain things - like the rule that Sonic's pupils must always make contact with his brow.

  68. 8910 Pirate STC
  69. Roberto Corona Nov 21, 2001
  70. Roberto Corona says that the Pirate STC strip (by Stephen Bliss, whose name he forgets) was originally going to be Toejam and Earl:
  71. "He worked on Deadline Magazine at the same time as Ed Hillyer and me, and he
  72. was a friend of Dave "Bastard Bunny" Anderson's. Pirate STC was based on the
  73. characters in the Sega TV ads at the time, and was knocked out pretty
  74. quickly. The guy-who's-name-I-forget was supposed to do a Toejam and Earl
  75. strip, and I think he got a fair way into it before it became apparent that
  76. the licensing wasn't in place, nor was it going to be. Hence, Pirate STC, as
  77. a last minute replacement project."
  78.

  174. These scripts for issue 18-19 (the Casino Night storyline) were attachments, and so aren't preserved in Yahoo's archive. I have both of these .doc attachments saved, but as Nigel says in the thread, the end of each one got corrupted during the file conversion to .doc.
