  1. This is a normal conversation between a friend and I:
  2.
  3. Chris
  4. 3:45
  5. Having had a few smart phones I have enough experience to know their merits and their fallacies.
  6.
  7. Matthew
  8. 3:46
  9. Having owned several computers I know enough to take them apart to increase my gigawatts
  10.
  11. Chris
  12. 3:46
  13. The connectivity and integration is probably the biggest merit of a smartphone, but from a consumer standpoint
  14. I don't find any smartphone in the US to be a smart purchase.
  15. They all are limited "mini-computers" if you will that don't have the full capability or a full size laptop.
  16. But a full size laptop is so portable now that it's practically a smart phone.
  17.
  18. Matthew
  19. 3:48
  20. The amount of gigawatts produced by a single brain is the biggest merit, but from a consumer standpoint 1.7 gigawatts
  21. is enough to go back in time and anything faster is not a smart purchase
  22.
  23. Chris
  24. 3:48
  25. While I see the inconvenience of having separate devices for separate purposes, I find that it's less of an
  26. inconvenience than what I would have to pay for a full package with any of the cellular companies here.
  27.
  28. Matthew
  29. 3:48
  30. However, after you travel through time the computer's brain and gigawatts will be useless to you as they will still be
  31. stuck in the original timeline
  32. I'd suggest a gun, sword, and a towel as travel companions
  33.
  34. Chris
  35. 3:49
  36. I'm still going at this point because the juxtaposition of our conversations our quite hilarious at this point.
  37. On top of that, when the next latest thing comes out the old phone is suddenly a piece of shit.
  38. I've opted for a compromise of a slight lack of integration but complete choice in what I run and how I run it.
  39.
  40. Matthew
  41. 3:51
  42. I have recently discovered that the iphone has enough gigawatts and is portable enough to travel through time with you
  43. making it possible to make multiple jumps, unfortunately the lack of video conferencing at this point has made it
  44. difficult to convince my cohorts of time travel possibilities with iOS4 this is no longer an issue.
  45.
  46. Chris
  47. 3:51
  48. So what am I missing. Why is everyone going ape shit over phones and ignoring the fact that they are constantly
  49. getting screwed and being incredibly wasteful with them in the process?
  50. Actually, the name iOS4 is pretty cool. I think I will get the new iPhone based on that alone. I hear it will
  51. have a farmville app. Did you know you can get more gigawatts by farming for them?
  52.
  53. Matthew
  54. 3:53
  55. Farmville! Now you are talking complete nonsense sir
