  4. ---------------------------------------------
  5. Well, where should we start from?
  6. -
  7. the abyss
  8. -
  9. In what way though?
  10. -
  11. directly after the fall
  12. -
  13. I like it, it'll make for a fine origin story, at first.
  14. ---
  15. What makes one an exterminator? Are they created or are they made?
  16. -
  17. Like, do they make the angels they have into one or born as one?
  18. -
  19. *are they born as one
  20. Sorry.
  21. ---
  22. What do Exterminators like to do in their spare time?
  23. -
  24. play poker
  25. -
  26. Maybe a more holy version of it.
  27. -
  28. Based.
  29. -------
  30. Well if we're going to milk the joke this hard I guess I may as well jerk off the folks who are into the murderangels in a big way. Is there anything you all are looking to see in Fallen Exterminator? What do you want to see out of the story? What do you think is going on with the exterminators overall?
  31. -
  32. In terms of what I think is going on, in this fic I think its being setup that Exterminators are a in-between of Heaven and Hell, people who don't meet the criteria for Heaven but are not quite bad enough to go to Hell (alternatively the exterminators are drawn from Hell bound souls who are instead given a choice, with this recruitment occurring on a as needed basis).
  33.
  34. Recruited and brainwashed into a never ending war. It seems a 50/50 if Exterminators are ever given the blessing of being accepted into Heaven after a sufficient tour of service.
  35.
  36. Alternatively they could just be entities created to serve, and are given false memories to make them believe they are fighting for redemption, thus they have something to strive for.
  37.
  38. Main odd thing is that the story implies the exterminators suffer a high attrition rate, yet I've never got that idea that the Exterminators are easy to kill. From the Pilot they come across as highly intimidating (sufficient to cause Overlords are the nobility of hell to seek cover) and from the story they inspire nothing but fear in everyone except for Charlie, Alastor (who is insane) and Nifty (who is clueless).
  39.
  40. In terms of what I am personally hoping to get out of the story, just more interactions with the cast. I'm very engaged with the content thus far and am simply interested in seeing how the situation unfolds.
  41. -
  42. You're on the right track with some of that...:)
  43. -
  44. Hoping for some more exterminators interacting with normal living humans desu
  45. -
  46. Very nice.
  47. ---------------------------------------------
  48. What weapons do they hold?
  49. -
  50. Their weaponry seams to be demonstrated archaic. Polearms look to be the predominant weapon, with swords in the hands of the higher ranking angels, maybe more as a status symbol. I think I've seen longbows in some of the artwork.
  51. -
  52. Maybe daggers could be added too for closer encounters.
  53. -
  54. Vaggie is very exterminator-like, and she's got throwing knives handy. I could see them also having punch daggers on hand for grappling encounters
  55. ---
  56. I meant to say demonstrably, but that's not right either, it's "deliberately" archaic...
  57. ---
  58. Okay, sounds good.
  59. ------
  60. So, maybe there could be some bitter rivals in a small circle of exterminators who over time some become friends.
  61. -
  62. They should face some challenges sometimes to help strengthen their bond.
  63. -
  64. Maybe a few times they could run into Stolas.
  65. -
  66. Based Stolas trips.
  67. --------------------
  68. Maybe there's a time where some Exterminators need rescue.
  69. -
  70. I thought there was gonna be a lot of writing in here, what happened anons?
  71. -
  72. Tbh I'm not 100% why a separate thread was made just for the exterminators but I figured I'd roll with it. Work got shtcanned again today (seriously, what are the odds of both of our machines having the same mechanical problem back to back?) so I'm going to work on Fallen Exterminator some more but I'll try to pitch in here too.
  73. -
  74. Okay! Glad you're here, anon!
  75. --------
  76. Would you date one?
  77. -
  78. Yeah.
  79. -
  80. I'd tend to wonder if they can date at all. Assuming they're sentient, how much freedom are they given? Is being an exterminator like being in a modern army, where you have off-the-clock time to do as you wish, or given the religious theming of the whole affair, are they more like living a monastic lifestyle?
  81. -
  82. Both could be the case.
  83. -
  84. They would lead an honorable holy life.
  85. ---
  86. >Heavenborn angels "falling" is actually far more common than anyone will admit
  87. >Instilled with a deep love of humanity, its often just a case of one of them happening to spot the right human at the right time
  88. >They fall in love, and soon after fall from grace
  89. >They become more concerned with the company of their favored human than in fulfilling their role in the Grand Design
  90. >They shun their immortality and their place in paradise in favor of a brief, fleeting life with their beloved
  91. >Exterminators, starved for affection due to the brutality of their role, are especially vulnerable to this temptation
  92. >They essentially have to be kept locked away and cut off from the rest of the world to keep them from being distracted.
  93. -
  94. Based writefag.
  95. ------------------
  96. >Emptiness
  97. >Vast
  98. >Eternal
  99.
  100. >They had missed the mark when they were cast down from where they had been made
  101. >The others had landed in Hell, the resting place for all creations that did not pass scrutiny, retaining form and shape and purpose
  102. >But they had landed...here
  103. >Where there was nothing
  104. >Where nothing was, not even themselves
  105.
  106. >They lay in the nothingness
  107. >They knew not how long, for there was no time for them to do so
  108. >Then, someone came to pay them a visit
  109. -
  110. >The visitor told them her name, but names had no meaning in The Abyss, and the word evaporated as quickly as it left her lips
  111. >She reached down through the darkness and pried them out of it
  112. >They were given form once again, singular
  113. >Then the form was divided, so that they were many
  114. >Their shape was fashioned after that of the others who had been made alongside it, before their maker had cast them all out
  115. >But sleeker
  116. >More lethal
  117. >Lastly, they were given purpose
  118. >Many other souls had come to rest in Hell since The Fall
  119. >Too many
  120. >Hell was overflowing, bulging at the seams
  121. >It had to be emptied, and The Abyss, ever-hungry now that they had been taken out of it, needed to be filled
  122. >And so, The Exterminators went forth into What Is, ready to cast those that they encountered behind them into What Is Not
  123.
  124. Seriously am I just going to have to riff off myself all day?
  125. -------------------------------
  126. What do Exterminators do to prep/train?
  127. -
  128. Standard polearm, sword, and archery drilling like you'd see used in the phalanxes of Alexander The Great's armies, modified to take advantage of the fact that angels can fly and to exploit modern technology (ie, they have radios now so they probably don't need to signal each other with flags and horns)
  129. -
  130. Hand to hand combat would also be good.
  131. -
  132. Only insofar as getting a belligerent demon off of them long enough to retrieve a weapon, since its evidently the weapons and not the angels themselves that has the permakill power. If an exterminator just snaps a mofo's neck with their bare hands the demon is just going to regen eventually.
  133. -
  134. That's what I had in mind.
  135. -
  136. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about martial arts. Are there any schools that specialize specifically in getting your opponent as far away from you as possible/disorienting them/putting them off balance quickly? Because that would seem to be the best thing for an exterminator to learn. Someway to toss a demon and leave them on their backs long enough to get their spear or sword or whatever back from wherever it ended up.
  137. ---
  138. Anyone have that fanart of the exterminator with his mask removed and laughing maniacally?
  139. -
  140. No but that sounds neat and I'd love to see it.
