[18:01:41 PM] maaku: I've been busy with personal/family stuff this last week, so I didn't get as much done as I hoped, but things have moved forward a little bit

[18:03:07 PM] maaku: The most important thing to figure out now is the process and criteria for selecting grants, and a strategy for spending the trust fund

[18:07:38 PM] maaku: Something along the lines of "We will distribute 500,000frc (?) every three months (?), with first proposals due Feb 15th (?). The minimum criteria for acceptance are (???), and proposals which meet this minimum will be evaluated based on (???)."
[18:11:31 PM] maaku: Some notes: (1) freicoins have very little value now. In order to maximize the good done by distribution, we should start small and then ramp up the amount distributed per round later. However we also need to start issuing large amounts of coins fast in order to placate the concerns of people using the currency. These are competing concerns.
[18:13:10 PM] maaku: (2) We should pick a date that is soon-ish (Feb 15th is probably the closest we can realistically handle), and proceed even if some of the infrastructure is not up. If there's no website submission form, we can still take submissions by email or a Google docs form.
[18:16:39 PM] maaku: (3) The minimum criteria for acceptance should be simple - grants must positively and measurably grow the Freicoin economy, be auditable, etc. Things like "proposals should increase the wellbeing of humanity as a whole" fall in the category of guidelines that we use for selecting proposals, e.g. how the proposals are competed against each other.
