 ▬ if there is one thing that can be said about choi jiho, it is that she is the walking definition of sarcasm. in all honesty, most of what comes out of her mouth is sarcastic, and if it was a class taught at school jiho would be passing with flying colours because she's pretty much fluent. she can always be relied upon to tell you exactly what she's thinking, regardless on whether or not you actually want to hear it. she has no filter whatsoever, and is probably known for the most vulgar vocabulary, because she swears on a daily basis, which often gets her warnings from her teachers (they don’t often go further, because they don’t particularly care as long as she’s not swearing at them, and that’s something that jiho is careful not to do loud enough for them to hear). she is an extremely blunt person, to the point of being considered straight up rude, and always gives her honest opinion no matter what. lying to spare someone’s feelings? that doesn’t exist in her dictionary. if she thinks that dress looks stupid on you, she’ll tell you straight up. if she thinks you’re talking bullshit, she’ll call you out on it in front of everyone to hear. she is a very opinionated person, and frequently likes to argue her points across and make her views heard. she’s not afraid to call people out when she knows they’re wrong, as she doesn’t want people to think that just because she’s small and cute, she’s weak, because she’s by far the opposite. jiho is not afraid to pick fights with people to stand up for something she believes in. most of her fights start out as verbal, because she doesn’t like to waste her physical energy on people, but if you refuse to back down, or try to hit her first, you can bet that she will retaliate, and she’ll have you trapped within seconds, gaining the upper hand. she’s trained in teakwondo, but despite being well known for her martial arts, she doesn’t really like resulting to violence, and quite frankly, she’d prefer it if people weren’t stupid enough to try and provoke her. she doesn’t often get into physical fights, and has only been caught twice, but she can count the number of physical fights on her two hands alone. violence is usually just her last resort, but that doesn't stop her from using it to scare people off. she's not afraid to throw a punch at someone, but will only do it if they really deserve it. yet despite being a very outspoken person, she only speaks when necessary, and she does’ t speak if she has nothing to say. she doesn’t see the point in mindless chatter just to fill silences, and only responds to chatter when she has a comment she wants to voice, otherwise she’ll just stick to sitting there calmly and listening in instead. jiho is also a very persuasive person, and knows what buttons to press to get what she wants. it helps that she’s a blood descendent of two of the richest people in south korea, and her new step father is loaded two, and while she doesn’t often go bragging about the digits in her bank account (because quite frankly she refuses to take money from her step father, and is very determined to earn some money for herself by working), people are very much aware of the fact that she has a lot of money, one look at her expensive clothes and the mansion of a house she lives in will tell you that.
 ▬ however, despite her somewhat aggressive exterior personality, she’s quite the opposite really. she is a very kind person, but only to the people closest to her. she is insanely loyal to those who earn her trust, and once you’ve earned her loyalty, you have it for life. it is not something that jiho takes lightly, and she doesn’t just grant it to anyone. to be fair, the only people who she’s extremely loyal to are her blood relatives and her best friend, PITY PARTY. she is also a lover of skinship, something that most people don’t realise. she is a really clingy person once she opens up to you, something that PITY PARTY knows all too well. jiho likes knowing that there is someone beside her who always has her back, both literally and figuratively, which is why she can often be seen with her arm linked through the other girl’s as she finds it very comforting (not that she’ admit this to anyone, because she has a reputation to uphold). she can also be very cute, even though she hates it. she seems to be naturally cute, and looks cute without any effort whatsoever, something she despises. she thinks that being seen as cute will make everyone think that she’s weak, which is why she does everything she can to act like she’s not cute (which doesn’t always work, because a lot of students tend coo over her, until she sends them death glares). a lot of the student body find some of her actions endearing, much to her dismay. they believe that a lot of her habits a extremely cute, like biting her cheek when she’s concentrating, or tapping her pen when she’s deep in thought. however, her aggressive nature is a great contrast to her looks, and people often have trouble believing that she’s the same person, because while she’s sitting there quietly, she looks calm and serene, but as soon as she start to talk, her voice tends to be either dripping with sarcasm or her statements are full of swear words. she also has a very active imagination, and can often come up with every possible outcome of a certain situation within minutes, which could partially be responsible for fuelling her pessimistic nature, because she is one of the most pessimistic people you will ever meet. (“why are you so pessimistic?” “it’s not pessimism, honey, it’s realism.”) she is also very creative, and is able to come up with lies and cover stories quite easily, which is why people have told her that she’d probably make a good author one day, which is a compliment that never fails to make jiho smile, because one day she hopes to write her own book.

background:
 ▬ choi jiho was born in the seoul gangnam district as the third and final child to her parents, who were ecstatic to finally have a baby daughter after their two sons who were born before her. jiho grew up in a loving environment, spoiled rotten by her older brothers who were delighted to finally have a baby sister to fuss over and protect from all the boys, being a lot older than her. however, her loving family environment was torn to shreds when she turned seven, as her parents began to argue. they both worked high demand jobs that were paid a lot of money, as her mother was a paediatrician and her father was a neurosurgeon, and after arguments, their workload would miraculously increase, and the pair were hardly ever at home, leaving jiho with her older brothers most of the time, who always made sure she did her homework and got ready for school on time. by the time she turned nine, her parents had finally given up on their marriage, and filed for a divorce, much to the dismay of jiho, who at the time, wasn't quite sure what was going on, but knew that her brothers and her parents were upset about the strange term they continued to through around. her mother won custody over all three children, leaving their father to pack his bags and leave, moving to daegu on his own, leaving the rest of his family behind. at first jiho was annoyed, because she wanted to see her father a lot, and got upset when she could see him every day like she used to. she'd always been a lot closer with her father, who made the effort to build a stable relationship with all three of his children, despite his long work hours. his move to daegu took a lot out of jiho, who wanted nothing more than to move to daegu with her father, since her mother was now hardly ever home anyway, and when she was she'd just sit int he kitchen and cry, while jiho's oldest brother tried to comfort her.
 ▬ when jiho was twelve, her mother started dating again, and met a man by the name of jung sungwoo, who her mother seemed to be a lot more serious about, and he stayed around a lot longer than some of the other men her mother had tried dating since the divorce. jiho was not happy at all, and decided straight from the beginning that she did not like the man, an opinion that was strongly backed up by her brothers, who had the same view. call them young and ignorant, but they all still clung to the little bit of hope that their family would go back to normal, and they could be happy with their mother and father again. however, this was not going to happen, something that all three children knew deep down, no matter how much they hoped. the three of them objected strongly against the announcement of their mother marrying the man, which came about a year and a half later, but there was nothing they could do about it, as their objections only led to severe scoldings from their mother. eventually, jiho and her brothers shut up, but things took a turn for the worst when sungwoo moved in with them, bringing his daughter with them. jiho's mother was keen for jiho and his daughter, haeyeon, to get along well, since they were both the same age. however, jiho and haeyeon had contrasting personalities, and din't see eye to eye on anything, no matter what. if jiho wanted to watch THE AVENGERS on friday movie nights, haeyeon would immediately protest and insist on watching THE NOTEBOOK. what was worse was that her mother always seemed to take haeyeon's side, in an attempt to become closer to the girl. the only thing that haeyeon and jiho ever agreed on was their hatred for their combined family. haeyeon didn't want her father to be married to jiho's mother anymore than jiho did, but that didn't stop haeyeon from soaking up her step-mothers affections to get what she wanted, despite hating the woman with passion. in all honesty, jiho is waiting for the day she graduates so she can move out, and potentially go to a university in daegu, where she can be closer to her father and see him on a regular basis. she envies her older brothers, who no longer live with her, and instead live on campus at the colleges they attend, and has asked them a number of times to smuggle her into their dormitories. (the answer is no every time, but they make sure to visit her frequently and take her out, giving her an excuse to avoid her step family). her relationship with her mother began to deteriorate after her remarriage, because one, they didn't see eye to eye, and two, her mother started working more hours and the hospital, and was rarely home, which often left jiho alone with her step father and sister, giving her no choice but to excuse herself on the pretence of doing homework and avoid them like the plague from her bedroom.
 ▬ in all honesty, jiho did not want to get involved with the whole mr lim thing. she was a good student, despite her sharp tongue and habit of talking back to people and getting into verbal, and the occasional physical fights.  she had a bit of a thing going on with suspect, JUNG HOSEOK, before the death which declared them as prime suspects, which eventually led to her cutting off all ties with him, determined not to get involved in this. she vowed to keep her mouth shut about what happened, and no way in hell was she going to go down for this.

how she acts around him:
 ▬ well, at first, she’s straight up awkward with him. back before the whole incident with mr lim, they’d had some sort of thing going on, and everyone was convinced that they were either dating, or going to start dating. however, after the incident, jiho cut off all ties with him, straight up turning down any chance of them becoming something more, terrified of what would happen if she got dragged into this mess, as she didn’t want it to go on her record. now, however, she’s been assigned as his seat mate in all the classes they share, and she can’t really do much about avoiding him.
 ▬ towards the middle, she has no choice but to talk to him, and let him back into her life, since they have to work together with the rest of the girls and boys to figure out what exactly happened to mr lim. however, once they get over the awkwardness, they find that not much has actually changed, because jiho can still hold conversations with him, and their relationship has quickly begun to develop back to the relationship that had before jiho cut off all ties with him. her feelings for him had never quite disappeared, so to be honest she sort of growing attached to him again.
 ▬ at the end of the story, she doesn't even bother to hide any feelings that she may or may not have for him and is always seeking him out to make sure he’s okay. their relationship has already begun to develop into something that is a bit more than friends, even though it’s not quite dating yet. she still able to talk to him about just about anything, but there is no denying the fact that some of the things they do make them seem like a couple, mostly due to the fact that jiho holds his hand whenever he’s in reach (which is shocking to the students, because they’ve never seen her initiate any sort of skinship with anyone other than PITY PARTY. they’re basically dating by this point, despite the fact that jiho’s never actually confirmed it with him.

how he acts around her:
 ▬ if you think jiho was awkward then there is no way to describe how he acts around her at first. he remembers all too clearly the events that went down that caused her to cut off all ties from him, and he was honestly very upset about the whole thing, since he was into her at the time, and it definitely wasn’t easy going through that and the questioning at the same time. he’s now extremely awkward around her because he doesn’t know what to do or how to act, since she basically turned him down, and he’s kind of maybe still got feelings for her, even though he’s positive that she’s not interested.
 ▬ it takes him a while to start opening up to jiho again, even though they’ve been paired up in all of their shared classes. while he’s quieter than most, he is definitely not submissive, but he does tend to follow jiho’s lead because he’s still rather unsure on how to act around her. he’s not likely to let her push him around, but at the same time he hasn’t spoken to her since she pushed him away, and he doesn’t really want her to start pushing him away again, because it’s already difficult enough trying to deal with a serial killer.
 ▬ at the end, he’s kind of fallen back into his old relationship with her, and he can act like his usual self around her. he acts like a mix between her boyfriend and her best friend, depending on the day, and people honestly think there is something going on between them, especially since no one knows the full story of why they suddenly just stopped speaking to each other the first time around. he’s not really submissive in their relationship, and will take charge if the situation calls for it, usually to stop jiho from doing something stupid, or to calm her down after something has completely freaked her out. basically, by this point, they’re practically dating, despite the fact that neither of them have actually voiced this out.

 ▬ NOT A LOT. despite being trained in taekwondo, she really does not like pain at all. it's kind of a contradiction, since she's known to get into fights, but most of the time, they start off being verbal, and if they do get physical, jiho has the upper hand and usually has her opponent trapped before they can lay a finger on her. she does like injuries at all, and despite appearing like a strong person, she's the type to cry over a paper cut in the privacy of her bedroom.

can they handle seeing blood?:
 ▬ NO. blood makes her feel nauseous and makes her want to through up. it gives her dizzy spells, and there is no guarantee that she won't faint on you. there's a reason that she's failing the practical unit of human biology, and while she can handle seeing a picture in a textbook, if she sees it on a real life person, she's going to have to turn the opposite way and hope that she doesn't pass out.

can they keep a secret?:
 ▬ DEPENDS. yes, jiho can keep a secret, especially if it is big and could potentially have consequences on herself. however, small secrets, or secrets that don't involve her (for example, someone cheating on their significant other), well, she can't guarantee that she won't let it slip past her lips. however, despite this, she always has a habit of looking guilty, which often makes people accuse her of hiding something, even when she's not.

how good of a liar are they?:
 ▬ DECENT. jiho can spin tales off the tip of her tongue with ease, about small little things that don't have a difference ("where's your homework?" "i brought the wrong binder, my older brother has it." "why are you so late to class?" "there was a long queue in the toilets, miss."). she will lie about anything to save her own ass, and her friends' asses. however, when put under pressure, she can appear to look guilty (this happens a lot, even when she's not), and people will often accuse her of lying, despite her insisting otherwise, even if she is completely innocent.

what do they care about the most in the world?:
 ▬ HER FATHER and HER BROTHERS (and lowkey her mother, but mostly the first two). jiho has always been a firm believer of the fact that family are extremely important in her life, and she doesn't know what she'd do without them. despite her parents' divorce, she's still managed to remain extremely close with her father (probably due to the fact that she was closer with him than her mother in the first place), and sometimes wishes that her father had taken custody of her instead. her brothers are also extremely important to her because they've been with her through thick and thin, and they've seen her at her worst after their parents divorce. she relies on them a lot and cannot imagine her life without them in it.

what's their breaking point?:
 ▬ VERY HIGH. jiho isn't the type to break very easily, and it takes a lot to push her buttons. sure, she gets pissed off very easily, and she'd be likely to fight you, but it takes a lot for her to completely break down. she isn't known for crying, especially not in public, but if you go after her brothers or her father, or continually accuse or threaten her for something that she hasn't done, she'd be likely to break. also, this isn't exactly her breaking point, but if someone tried to kill someone that she knows, or who was a constant figure in her life, she'd probably freak out. she probably would reach her breaking point over it, but it would definitely shake her up.

are they willing to do anything to protect themselves or those around them?:
 ▬ YES AND NO. she's willing to do anything to protect herself, because as bad as this makes her sound, she is determined not to go down with this disaster, and she really does not need an arrest on her permanent record. however, she's not always willing to protect the people around her. her first priority is her own life and reputation, and then her family and close friends. only after that will she worry about other people. but if protecting them means protecting herself, then you can hands down bet she'll do it.

do they get over it or do they get even?:
 ▬ GETS EVEN. the scary thing is, she doesn't do it right away. if you piss her off, chances are she'll hold a grudge over you, and five years later, when you've forgotten all about it, she'll spring you with her revenge and get back at you for getting on her bad side years before.

 ▬ something happening to haeyeon, like her getting into a car accident or something and luckily she is okay, but they later find out it was because of the serial killer running around town, and jiho freaks out becuase even though she doesn't really like her step sister, she doesn't particularly want her to die or anything
 ▬ her love interest drops by at the place she works at while she's working, and she's all stressed out because of the serial killer and accidentally drops his meal, but he assures her it is okay and helps her clean up before convincing her boss to let her leave early and he takes her home
 ▬ someone trying to pick a fight with PITY PARTY, and jiho, being the supportive best friend she is immediately jumps in to stand up for her friend and gets into a massive physical fight, and PITY PARTY has to drag her away kicking and screaming before one of the teachers comes and gives her detention, but eventually just leaves her with her hoseok until she calms down.
