- How + linking verb = how good or bad
- (How are you? How do I look? How does that sound?)
- How + other verbs = asking about the way or process
- (How do I get to the bank? How do you spell “enough”?)
- How + adjective/adverb = asking about the intensity or degree
- (How fast was he driving? How cold is it? How old are you?)
- (we can include much/many/little/few as “adjective”, to get questions like ‘how much’)
