- Solo Hikari Route
- This is a lone traveler route for Hikari solo in Octopath Traveler II. Money at the end isn't routed tightly, and there's some annoying re-menuing, but the route works, though it's far from optimized.
- Worst fights are Assassins, which can take multiple attempts, and Enshrouded King, which is not a guaranteed fight, but both fights are favored to you. Everything else should be scripted/safe though.
- Last updated: 4/8/2023
- Status: Complete with sample video
- Sample Video: https://youtu.be/KJypv4O6Xc4
- NOTE: This was routed under 60 FPS, so different FPS runners may need to adapt if they sooner or later encounters.
- Future ideas to look into:
- - skip more encounters/money, perhaps get Unfinished Tunnels Rev Jam with walking on first pass through and not retrekking Crackridge
- - skip Thief/Ensnare and use Show Goes On with defense meat from Dawn market at Beasting Bay or just SW (or something else like Fleetfoot for crit reduction)
- - save Latent on Mugen with HHG->L stone at end and just Slowing Sweep-> Vets on Shadow Hikari to accelerate fight
- - route out more Latents in other places like Yurinas/Elderly Soldier to skip more inn trips, skip Yurinas re-gear
- - skip armsmaster for final trip and go as Merch using Divine Dual Edge for randoms or use stones?
- - possibly cutting Winterbloom + Rev Jam with better play/luck in final fight

- [alternatively, throw Reinforce Jam T1 and Vets x4 T2 if you want to accelerate it; depends how much money/resources you wanna conserve for EK]
- Enshrouded King
- Enshrouded King 98,000 HP, 10sh, weak to Sword Spear Bow Staff Thunder Wind
- T1: Hienka-Stout Wall x3
- T2: Heckle
- T3: Rev Jam/Refresh Jam/Grail or delay if HP is high (depends how early Heckle got off and T4 turn order)
- T4+: adapt from here (usually boosted Heckle then Hienka/boosted Stout Wall, etc, keep up buffs/debuffs/high HP)
- Every turn, EK does Diabolical Spear and Triple Poison Sting in some random order and keeps repeating that until he gets lower on health, when he gains more actions. The goal is to chip him a bit, then burst him to avoid the multi-actions.
- Usually at L33, EK's Diabolical Spear 6-hit multhit with both heckle's debuff and stout's buff makes you take ~210 per hit for a total of 1260 usually (crit seems to be ~310). He doesn't usually crit more than twice, so 1460 is a safer mental number to use.
- Triple Poison Sting (TPS) with both buff/debuff deals ~490 damage (~714 ish if crit) and about ~28 SP and always 1 BP unless you're at zero already. I'd use 500 or 700 as a safe number.
- Together, with both buffs, you can take 1960 damage per double action of his in a turn (could be more if everything crits, but it's unlikely). If he has 4 actions back to back, that is ~3900 damage, so you want your HP to be above that for safety. (If you're paranoid, you can do 4k+ and it should be very safe, barring egregious bad luck.)
- The goal is to maintain both Stout Wall+Heckle. Ensnare helps with Heckle's attack debuff, so you may not need to boost it as a much. (Ex if both SW and Hckl are low, increase SW's turns first.)
- Chip him but do not put him at 35%+ Collect, since he unlocks more actions. Ideally, anywhere from 23%-34% is a guaranteed win with our plan.
- Use Hienka's as you get them. We want to get him to 2 shields. To heal, use Wriggling Roots if your SP is high, else Grails/Refreshing Jams heal SP too which is needed since 3 TPS puts you at 0 SP basically, and you need SP for your skills. If you're full or high HP ish, you can Reinforce/Red Apple/Pom L.
- (Side note, you gain 1 BP per turn but he steals 1 BP per turn, so you actually always stay at BP neutral if turn order is bad. To gain BP in this fight, you can't count on your natural gain unless turn order is good, so you need to be using those items to get your full BP. Don't be stingy, and feel free to use them aggressively.)
- You have two Rev Jams for this fight. Use one early on to gain initiative to setup more Heckle/SWs (usually on T3/T4). The last I like to save as a panic button or just midway through the fight; it can also be used to gain tempo if you're running low on Buff/Debuff stacks.
- Red Apples/Reinforce are better if you're at 0 BP. If you have Latent, it can be better to Hienka before using Reinforce for efficiency. Hienka is also nice for putting you AFTER his actions, so he steals BP, then you can heal yourself on the Hienka turn with Jams or so.
- If Def Down procs, can get HHB x4 to help chip shields faster, but alternatively, can bring him to 2 shields with Hienkas, then use HHA to heal up (each single guy hit heals you ~1372 HP and ~23 SP) while doing extra chip damage but not breaking. HHA do 5-5.5k per hit and don't hit shield, it's ~7.7k ish per hit if he has Def Down. Every 1k is a bit more than 1% damage to him (98k health) so don't overdamage.
- Can optionally use Aggressive Slash to chip shields more too if turn order permits, but it should only be saved for the final burst coming up, if you need to accelerate and reduce shields fast.
- When he's at 2 shields or 1 shield with chip damage (23% Collect is a good number to aim for; it gets rangier if it's lower), it is time to do the final burst. Time your turn to have 5 BP + Latent (Reinforce is good for this). HP doesn't matter so long as you get your turn before wiping.
- Then do Hienka to break. Then on Hienka's bonus turn, do HHA x4. Then another HHA x3. He will unbreak and whack you a bunch. Defend and HHA x2 to KO. (Note you do not need Def Down when going for the final burst, and it doesn't actually do anything other than strengthen Hienka a bit. The final HHA x2 can get 5k more damage from it though, but the broken HHA all hit caps of 9999 regardless.)
- In total, the fight has up to 200k in assassins to use, though often you use less or convert some to Beastlings to chip shields. Remember to prioritize Heckle/SW above all else, unless you're going for the burst, and use your resources freely for this final fight. Don't be stingy with them.
- Time is when FIN screen puts up. GG.
