10[21:46] * Omniel begins down the tunnel at a measured pace.

[21:56] <~antoine> As you turn to take the third left to make your way to the power generator you hear skittering, however Cadmus spots two multi-limbed genestealers approaching stealthily from behind, Omniel spots two to the front and Sinbad spots one to the right.

[22:09] <~antoine> Bellerophon lines his heavy bolter up on the two creeping up from the front and lets loose with a single hellfire round, blasting chucks of ichor from their sickeningly xenos bodies.

10[22:12] * Arkias murmurs, raising the engraved skull icon in one power-armoured hand.
[22:16] <Arkias> "LET THEM BURN!"
[22:19] <~antoine> The warp flame leaps forth to harrass the two at the front but they move with preternatural speed and skitter out of the way.
[22:20] <Arkias> "Be still and be purged, xenos!"
10[22:20] * Arkias snarls in frustration, psychic hood still humming.
[22:21] <Cadmus> ++I will handle above. Omniel, the ones behind. Bell and Arkias, the 2 in front. Sinbad and Patriclus, the last one.++ Cadmus says as he opens up on one of the genestealers above.

10[22:22] * Arkias replies automatically, fist still clenched.
01[22:22] <Omniel> ++Orders acknowledged.++
[22:30] <~antoine> Omniel raises his heavy bolter and holds down the trigger as two attempt to drop from above, the bolts quickly turns them both into chucks of chitin that fall around the devastating Apothecary.
10[22:32] * Cadmus smiles beneath his helmet at his handywork
10[22:32] * Sinbad draws his bolter with his right hand, and lets loose into the one genestealer approaching from the right
[22:32] <Sinbad> "Die, xenos infidel!"
[22:37] <~antoine> The genestealer dodges the first bolt but Sinbad's perfect accuracy slams three more home, blowing the beast apart and sending mulit-jointed limbs flying through the tunnel.
[22:43] <~antoine> Omniel lets loose with the promethium filled tanks of his heavy flamer damaging the two to the rear and setting one of them on fire which screeches as its body is turned crispy.
[22:50] <~antoine> Patriclus aims at the genestealer to the rear not for fire and sends two superheated plasma shots at the beast. His aim true to form hits the monster in the neck and head, evaporating it's upperbody as it slumps to the floor.
[22:50] <Sinbad> "Hahahahah! Good show, man!"
[22:50] <~antoine> not on fire (herp)
10[22:55] * Cadmus manages to evade the slashing claws of a stealer he didn't see, his body reacting on instinct.
[23:05] <~antoine> Arkias is almost overcome by the shrieking xenos that charged him and sent a flurry of blows bypassing much of his armour. Omniel is similarly assaulted by the genestealer still on fire from his previous attack, his armour little use against the diamond sharp claws.
10[23:07] * Bellerophon turns around and stomps his lead foot into the save, and opens up on the genestealers groping his brothers after a half action aim
[23:12] <~antoine> Bellerophon fusillade miraculously avoids hitting Arkias and slaughters the two genestealers assaulting the psyker.
10[23:14] * Bellerophon blows the smoke off the barrel
[23:15] <Arkias> "My thanks, Brother!" Arkias calls, turning and gesturing as he does so.

[23:20] <~antoine> Arkias sends a bolts of lightning that wash over the genestealer next to Cadmus but dosen't inflict anything but an angry temperament out of the xenos breed.

10[23:21] * Arkias roars, "In His name!"
10[23:28] * Cadmus smoothly stows his haevy bolter and whips out his pistol, firing a burst right into the xenos' face.
[23:29] <Cadmus> *heavy
[23:29] <~antoine> Cadmus stows his heavy bolter and in a split second his bolt pistol is roaring in the face of the genestealer that attempted to attack him from behind. The bolt rounds blast away the wretched things body and it slumps to the floor at his feet.
10[23:29] * Cadmus twirls the pistol around his finger in celebration
[23:31] <Sinbad> "For the Throne! Our God Is Great!"
10[23:31] * Sinbad charges the doop into the remaining genestealer, chainsword in his free hand
[23:34] <~antoine> The Genestealer ducks low as Sinbad's strike flies overhead missing the burning creature.
10[23:41] * Omniel grits his teeth and merely adopts a defensive position, not budging an inch as the creature assaults him once more. "The Dark Angels do not yield in the face of battle!"
[23:42] <Arkias> "Put deeds to your words, Brother!"
[23:45] <~antoine> The genestealer ignores the spacemarines words, its actions totally focused upon the evisceration of its prey. ducking and weaving it manages to score a direct hit on Omniel's right arm sliding through the armour and gouging a deep cut.
[23:49] <~antoine> You hear a muffled roar of outrage from the carapace enclosed commissar as he sees his lord's taking grievous wounds and fires another two shots of superheated plasma that rip the legs and body out from underneath the offending monstrosity.

10[23:50] * Sinbad resist the urge to stare at Patriclus in incredulity, for doing what two Astartes could not
[23:51] <Sinbad> "Good....good man.  The Emperor smiles upon us.
[23:51] <Arkias> ++Status?++ Arkias pants after a long moment, one hand limp at his side.
[23:51] <Cadmus> "Excellent shooting Commissar. Now, let's tend to your wounds." Cadmus says, moving to treat Arkias and Omniel.
[23:51] <Arkias> "Aye."
[23:52] <~antoine> The Commissar gives a quick bow and saunters towards the group while maintaining good over-watch on nearby tunnels.
10[23:54] * Cadmus quickly patches us his brothers, and then proceeds to check the xenos corpses, looking for a mostly-intact one
10[23:54] * Sinbad drives the doop over to the first genestealer he killed
[23:54] <Sinbad> "There's a lot of holes in this one, but I think it's alright."
10[23:54] * Arkias follows, warily looking down each tunnel.
10[23:55] * Sinbad holds up his genestealer like a pock-marked puppet, and jiggles it about while driving over to Cadmus
[23:55] <Sinbad> "Is this alright, Brother Leader?"
10[23:55] * Sinbad continues to jiggle the genestealer corpse about
[23:55] <Arkias> "Brother, you're getting xeno everywhere."
10[23:56] * Sinbad mimics a falsetto
10[23:56] * Arkias says with some irritation, brushing acidic blood from his arm parchment.
[23:56] <Sinbad> "Oh, witch-marine, you are so scary with your Warp-flames like a spirit, oh I'm so scared!"
10[23:56] * Sinbad jiggles the corpse like a puppet
10[23:57] * Cadmus snorts in laughter
[23:59] <Arkias> "Amusing, Brother Sinbad."
01[23:59] <Omniel> ++Retain your composure, Brothers. There may yet be more Xenos afoot.++

[23:59] <Sinbad> "In seriousness though, what is a good sample?  Even this one is one of the better corpses we have, and it's still barely holding itself together."

10[00:02] * Arkias frowns, jerking back slightly.
[00:03] <Arkias> "The hive's stench clouds this place."
[00:03] <Sinbad> "Still better this than that one xenos abomination of a drop pod."
[00:04] <Sinbad> "Sense something?"
[00:04] <Arkias> "It is not what I sense, blunt-marine," Arkias snaps.
[00:04] <Arkias> "It is what I cannot. The stain covers all."
[00:05] <Sinbad> "On my planet, we used citrus fruits for that."
[00:05] <Cadmus> ++Hmm, it's pretty degraded. Let's hang onto it in case we don't find something better++ Cadmus says after giving the body a once over.
[00:05] <Sinbad> "Or bitterwater."
[00:05] <Arkias> "Your levity does you, and your Chapter, no credit."
[00:05] <Cadmus> ++Enough, let's move on.++
[00:05] <Arkias> "We should not idle here long."
[00:05] <Arkias> ++Aye.++

10[00:06] * Sinbad picks up the corpse, and compresses it slightly to fit into one of the doop's saddle bags
10[00:07] * Sinbad falls in behind Omniel, Immolation Rifle in one hand
10[00:07] * Omniel nods and moves on again, taking a moment to get his bearings before continuing on. ++This way, Brothers.++

10[00:07] * Arkias takes up position directly behind Omniel, boltgun and focus in hand.
[00:10] <~antoine> Continuing down the tunnel, leaving corpses in your wake you make it to your final turn in your journey to the power generator.

10[00:10] * Omniel raises his auspex quietly, scanning the area.
[00:12] <~antoine> Omniel's auspex picks up a single life sign in the room through the slashed heavy steel doors that separate you from the power generator control room, the darkness beyond unyielding to your vision as you approach.
01[00:13] <Omniel> ++Brothers, there is something within. A single life-sign. Brother-Leader, how should we proceed?++
[00:13] <Sinbad> ++I dislike this. The xenos know surely of our coming, and have fortified the area.++
[00:14] <Arkias> ++More likely, it is an ambush.++
[00:14] <Cadmus> ++Let us set up to breach the room together Brothers. And remember to avoid damaging the machinery inside.++
[00:15] <Arkias> ++Team Leader, we should be wary. Does the Codex not state to engage the enemy on a field of your choosing?++
10[00:15] * Sinbad whispers to Patriclus
[00:16] <Cadmus> ++I understand that, but we need to take that room.++
10[00:16] * Sinbad readies his Immolation Rifle again
[00:16] <Sinbad> ++Either way, we are ready. ++
[00:17] <Arkias> ++Understood. By your command, team-leader...++
10[00:17] * Arkias raises his boltgun.
[00:17] <Arkias> ++For Chapter and Emperor!++
10[00:17] * Cadmus moves into position, motioning Omniel to go first since he has the flamer.
10[00:18] * Omniel nods, and enters the room with his flamer at the ready, prepared to blast anything that looks like a Tyranid.

10[00:19] * Arkias is next, one hand raised.

10[00:20] * Cadmus follows in close behind, heavy bolter at the ready.
[00:21] <~antoine> As you enter you see stack upon stack of power generators in front of you like city blocks, narrow paths for maintenance crews are the only space between them, off to the far left you spot the end of a set of cogitator stacks.
[00:21] <Arkias> ++Our foe hides. Be wary.++
01[00:22] <Omniel> ++This terrain is not to our advantage.++
[00:22] <~antoine> The entire room is silent and dark, nothing seems to stir in the room as you enter.
[00:22] <Arkias> ++Brother-Techmarine, does your auspex tell of the foe?++
[00:23] <Cadmus> ++Very true. Where do we need to go to reactivate all this, Omniel?++
10[00:23] * Omniel consults his Auspex once more.
[00:24] <Sinbad> ++Problem. Five contacts inbound. Five from the tunnel, five scattered about the room.++
[00:24] <Arkias> ++An ambush, as expected.++
[00:24] <Bellerophon> ++Are they small or large problems?++
[00:25] <Sinbad> ++Can't tell. Brother Techmarine, what do you read?++
[00:25] <Cadmus> ++Do you detect somewhere we could use as a chokepoint?++
[00:25] <Sinbad> ++To mine own augur...they're all human-sized.  And five yet are still scattered within this chamber.++
[00:25] <Arkias> ++This location would do well, Team-Leader.++
10[00:26] * Bellerophon consults his own auspex. Perhaps it will shed better detail
01[00:26] <Omniel> ++Brother Sinbad, my auspex is only detecting one large signal.++

10[00:28] * Omniel begins withdrawing from the room, placing his auspex away so that he can ready the heavy flamer once more.
10[00:29] * Arkias tightens his grip on the skull and begins to murmur a litany of focus.
[00:29] <Bellerophon> ++Bad news brothers.++
[00:29] <Cadmus> ++Sinbad, keep an eye out for any xenos approaching us through the room.++
[00:29] <~antoine> As you reach the door you spot 5 genestealers sprinting towards you Omniel.
[00:29] <Bellerophon> ++You are all right.  To the door.++
10[00:29] * Sinbad agrees in a grunt through the com web

10[00:29] * Arkias turns, skull-focus raised.

[00:43] <~antoine> Omniel pours flame down the corridor they came from, burning three of the five xenos causing a fair amount of damage and dousing one of them so thoroughly that it is set alight.

[00:46] <Arkias> "For it is written that the alien loathse the smoke of the pure flame!"

[00:49] <~antoine> Arkias focuses a expanding flame that washes over the xenos and takes three down and heavily damages the two on either end of the group charging forwards at you.
10[00:51] * Sinbad readies a frak grenade, and lobs it through the doorway at the advancing xenos
[00:54] <~antoine> The grenade sends shards of metal at the two beasts but for the most part the damage is shrugged off without much effort.
[00:58] <Bellerophon> ++Brothers, you will have the stragglers.  I will meet the xenoforms from the room.++
10[00:58] * Bellerophon turns around and establishes Overwatch
[00:58] <Arkias> ++Understood. These creatures burn well.++
10[00:59] * Cadmus turns and covers the room with Bell.
[01:04] <~antoine> As two strange looking barbed hooks shoot out from the darkness at Patriclus, Sinbad move with preternatural speed to intercept them, hacking them off with a single chop of his ceremite clad forearm a screech of pain echos through the room as what is left of the tendrils quickly shoot back into the darkness. Patriclus looks up in amazement as Sinbad saves him from certain death at the hand...
[01:04] <~antoine> ...of the vile xenos breeds hiding in the darkness.

[01:06] <Sinbad> "I'VE GOT YO--INSHALLAH WHAT IS THIS XENOS?!"

10[01:11] * Bellerophon follows suit, though to less effect than expected
[01:13] <~antoine> As the heavy bolters shots probe the darkness you see sparks coming off of the power generators and the inhuman howls of pain from the creature that attacked patriclus.

[01:14] <Cadmus> "There's more where that came from, you xenos coward!" Cadmus mocks.
[01:15] <Arkias> ++Camoflague is the colour of cowardice!++
10[01:15] * Bellerophon remains quiet. Tyranids don't speak high gothic
[01:20] <~antoine> The two burnt genestealers charge Omniel, scoring a hit to his right leg, making a mockery of the kill teams armour once more.
[01:20] <Arkias> "Know when you are beaten, XENOS!"
[01:21] <~antoine> As the rest of the team covers the room suddenly bursting from behind power generators five genestealers and a larger more imposing genestealer crawl over the generators or through the narrow corridors and leap at the frontal guard kill team.
[01:25] <Arkias> "Team-leader, by your command..."
10[01:25] * Arkias murmurs, concentrating intently.
[01:25] <Cadmus> ++You have approval you unleash your full power Arkias.++

[01:55] <antoine> The genestealers manage to damage both Cadmus and Sinbad with their razor sharp claws, most of the attackers however are deftly parried or dodged by the liquid fast kill team.
[01:57] <antoine> Patriclus, seeing his master hurt by one of the xenos lets out a muffled roar "DARE TOUCH HIS HOLY SONS AND YOU SHALL BE DESTROYED BY RIGHTEOUS FURY" before he fills the stealer with plasma and it disintegrates on the spot.
10[01:58] * Sinbad face is a mixture of joy and confusion as the mortal man destroys the hated xenos better than he can, hidden behind his beaked helm
