  1. [20:08] {NARRATION} The group were told to meet the Professor at the Silverwall mines....or at least where it's old name use to be. From there, the group would be introduced to a man wearing a labcoat, but it's color was dark, a greyish purple but no signs of occultism or the like. What? A Professor can have a style!
  2.
  3. The man would clear his throat. He was rather short for a Professor, yet his feline tail came out, moving around as a smile came along his features. His blonde hair and his green eyes looked towards the group in question.
  4.
  5. "Well Well Well Well Well! You are the group who decided to take my task on? Wonderful. It seems like you all are rather...plain so to speak, but Im paying good money for this.
  6.
  7. Anyway, you are here to capture and bring back the project I had been doing, but if anything I'd like it alive please.
  8.
  9. The last of what I saw of my project MDG-05 also known by simply as....Carl, was last in an area northwest from here. I believe...Achyon was the last known place it was near. Go check there. If you have any questions let me know now before you depart."
  10. [20:10] The plan was simple from the get, to go out on a dangerous expedition to retrieve their lost creation. A being, a dangerous entity that could be defined as an Ice Dragon.
  11.
  12. After gathering alongside the others, along with receiving the proper instructions to tame the beast.
  13.
  14. A simple nod came from Acheron as he looked to the others, ready to partake on this conquest.
  15. (Acheron Erebus)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [20:13] Grizzt wasn't really told what was happening other to meet with the others. Sort of a late notice. But it was better then nothing, better then watch as Maazu groveled for her life to say the least.
  19.
  20. Seeing the professor, short and a feline. Hearing what he had to say. Grizzt looked over towards Runi. This man was very strange..he could already tell, shaking his head. "Plain? Pfft.." Grizzt was the only person of color standing here.. The others might of been plain.
  21.
  22. "Is that Karl with a K or a C ?"
  23. (Grizzt Gordan)
  24. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  25.
  26. [20:14] MDG-05? The hell has Runi gotten to them now? Ethia swore that man was trouble but non the less this did seem like and interesting job, and she got to see some of her friends and family that she had not seen in some time.
  27.
  28. "It better be good money," Ethia smiled. She needed a good pay day to pay her rent.
  29.
  30. "But dead is acceptable? Yes?"
  31.
  32. It would be a shame to miss good money due to someone getting over zealous.
  33. (Ethia Alcast)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [20:15] It seems there were some delays when first trying to gather, but at the end of the day they were all hear to meet up with the Professor whose experimente had escaped. The bounty was certainly attractive, but what gathered most of his attention was definetly the idea of the target.
  37.
  38. Standing in front of his group since he had been the one to gather them, he shrugged. "Look plain huh..." He laughed and looked back at his buddies. "Some of them may be plain looking, like your average holy Knight." Aelrin and Achilles. "But they sure can pull their weight."
  39.
  40. "Bring back alive, yes. Don't worry that much, we'll get your Project... as intact as can be." Although he would prefer to kill the target rather than capture it, that was not a good idea.
  41.
  42. No one should make an enemy of the Benefactors. "Will do." Near Achyon? Annoying, but they can do it.
  43.
  44. This will be a valuable experience.
  45. (Runihura)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [20:16] Aelrin folded his arms, metal and flesh alike. He furrowed his brow as he thought of The Professors words.
  49.
  50. Achyon.
  51.
  52. The name itself gave a sense of danger, but entering its ruins...Was actually in fact quite dangerous for him. His blood rushed as a single bead of sweat dripped down his head.
  53.
  54. "Heh...Of course the creature is there. This should be interesting to say the least..." as he spoke multiple small runes formed to the left of his body. Without Lightcutter, he was definitely incapable of performing Teleportation. Or even attempting it. But his knowledge wasn't stolen from him, and the inscribings of runes lingered in his head forever. From there, he pulled his cloak and sword.
  55.
  56. "Alright. We'll bring it back alive. But I hope this is worth it. Im sure you know a place like Achyon is quite dangerous for people like us..." he said side-eyeing his group. Aelrin had never even stepped foot in Achyon.
  57.
  58. "Im ready wheneveryone else is. I can even scout ahead if you would so choose."
  59. (Aelrin ven Astor)
  60. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. [20:18] Upon arrival the benevolent light graciously dawns upon those present. A refreshing sensation that came along with a trail of blooming flowers and animals, a difficult to miss entourage.
  63.
  64. Steps halt and with it, so does the stream of natural phenomena. It all seems to huddle around the Gelmont who, at the moment, was smiling in the direction of the professor and the group.
  65.
  66. "Hello to you all! It's been a while. Pleasure to meet you, Professor."
  67.
  68. Pleasant greetings for all present before they're briefed on the task at hand. Of course, he'd read the notice, he knew what was required of them, but the extra information did help.
  69.
  70. "Very well, we'll bring your experiment back in the best possible condition."
  71.
  72. The Gelmont nodded.
  73.
  74. As for mention of Achyon? "We'll be fine. I trust the competence of this group."
  75. (Achilles Gelmont)
  76. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  77.
  78. [20:20] {NARRATION} The doctor nodded, but it made quick work of the questions in rapid fire, only to shoo the group away towards Achyon.
  79.
  80. "Its with a C, I want it back ALIVE. Its far more worth itself to be alive then dead. Now off you go, it should be towards Acyhon. Its a large icy blue dragon. I doubt you can miss it."
  81. [20:25] {NARRATION} Narrating!
  82. [20:36] {NARRATION} As the group left the meeting point towards Achyon, the air around them started to shift towards the colder side of embrace. The shift was not subtle, the area around them was covered in an icy coat out snow and ice. This was NOT natural, more so probable. It was the middle of summer! This sort of power was changing the foundation of the area. But the loser they got to the area, the colder it got. If they weren't wearing protective gear or used Fire based magic, they could get frost bite!
  83.
  84. However, as the group got closer, they could spot a dragon, about 50 feet in length. It was rather small for it's kind...if you could relate it to the dragons of the north.
  85.
  86. It's coat of Icy blue only seemed to push onward as it heard the crashing of snow, breaking under the group's boots. Its eyes shot in rage as it looked at the group it's mouth open wide, shooting a breathy show of icicles towards them.
  87.
  88. This was their target.
  89.
  90. (Hi HI! Its me Mutes. I will be your DM tonight. This hunt will be a HCOI, so all fights will be Aggressives. But dont worry, its not going to be that easy. 98. Please note that these are not permanent (Temps) and can be healed at anytime after the event.
  99.
  100. This is a 3 phase 5 round set fights.
  101.
  102. Any questions??)
  103. 20:43] While it was a little annoying to get through the new area which a Clan of Rhoynur had taken over, they eventually arrived at their desired location. The shift in temperature was all too obvious for someone who had spent their life in the desert.
  104.
  105. He hated the cold!
  106.
  107. "We're close! Ready up, guys!" Pulling his staff from his back, he tapped into the energy of his lifeblood, his essence rising from his body in the form of a crimson looking steam. His body once again feeling hot.
  108.
  109. Just as they came in sight of the Dragon, he slammed his hand on the ground, blocking the first few icicles which were fired towards them. "Remember! Alive! Don't aim for it's vitals, and focus on immobilizing it, even if it means causing grievous injuries or wearing it off first."
  110.
  111. Just the sight of a Dragon made his blood feel as if it was boiling, but... it was just a mutant in the end. A freak of nature, a combination between the two.
  112.
  113. Still, even if it wasn't as great as that of an actual Dragon, he wanted it's blood.
  114. (Runihura)
  115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  116.
  117. [20:45] The temperature began to drop as they neared the Dragon. Due to harsh training, he could withstand the freezing weather, but it did not make him immune to its effects. If they didn't finish this quickly, they could suffer some unwanted consequences. Achilles would be fine though, of course.
  118.
  119. He looked to his group before stopping in front of their target. For a moment, they locked eyes. There was an understanding in that very second before the festivities began.
  120.
  121. Blood would be shed here today.
  122.
  123. He stepped to the side, fast. Faster than he was before. Two years ago...
  124.
  125. Chunks of Ice and Snow shot past him as he dodged keep eye contact with the Dragon. Cosmic Energy began to distort the very reality around them as he powered his circuits to the maximum. He was different now.
  126.
  127. His good hand reached for his blade, hoisting it from his back and moving it gently to his side as if it had no weight. He nodded to Runihura, keeping his words in his mind.
  128.
  129. "Right. Alive." he said before rushing into the battlefield, becoming a blur as he launched towards the Dragon.
  130. (Aelrin ven Astor)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [20:46] Oh god no.. Another god damn dragon let lose on Esshar?! At the very least this one was much smaller.. For now. Why were they taking this alive when it CLEARLY needed to die.
  134.
  135. Ethia would never forget the damage done with the last dragon attack... At least this one was more her 'element' to say the least. Ethia had to burry the motion to kill it.
  136.
  137. "Alright guys, I don't think freezing this place is going to do us any good- So does anyone have any rope? Aelrin, do you think your meatal magic is strong enough to restrain it?"
  138.
  139. This was going to be a bloody pain!
  140.
  141. She took out her bow and surrounded herself in a flurry of ice, with any luck her mastery of ice would be greater than the beasts.
  142. (Ethia Alcast)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [20:46] Coming close towards what little remained of the metal city known as Achyon, cold winds tore at the surroundings as the area around them quickly became covered with ice and snow.
  146.
  147. Knowing first hand that they were getting closer to their destination. Acheron conjured manifestations of himself. Spectre's of wraiths from the bottomless pit that forever followed him.
  148.
  149. His shadows.
  150.
  151. The beast was magnificent, measuring to what he could only assume to be fifty feet in length. A being that he knew all to well that wasn't an elder dragon. Only just a newt, a youngling, a being that had yet to see the fruition of life and came to ravage all those it wanted without care.
  152.
  153. "Make sure not to tell the Drakanites about this."
  154.
  155. Acheron smiled as his hands found comfort in his coat's pockets.
  156.
  157. Golden pearls illuminated within the night sky as he looked up at the magnificent beast, glaring at it as if /he/ was the predator and they wereprey.
  158.
  159. He knew his limits and it was inevitable to say. That he would be the one to bring it down to his feet.
  160. (Acheron Erebus)
  161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  162.
  163. [20:47] This.. was simply another mission to complete in order to secure a better future for Esshar. As one who sought to be the Sword and Shield of the Just, then such missions should be second nature to him, yes?
  164.
  165. Therefore, once the ragtag squad breaches the zone of cold, the golden splendor around him, burned even brighter. The snow sizzled, unable to penetrate that light that hovered around a wide area.
  166.
  167. Within that bright gold, embers of the same color could be seen burning brilliantly. Quite a few of them even, linking together to almost form a spira of flames around his body. He was getting closer.
  168.
  169. The equilibrium he sought.. It was close.
  170.
  171. "Ah, so here you are."
  172.
  173. On the contrary to its hostile greeting, Achilles smiled. His sword drawn as an arc of fire ruptured the air between himself and the incoming icicles. Instantly turning to vapor between the two, another step forward was taken.
  174.
  175. "Let's hurry and complete this then, shall we?"
  176. (Achilles Gelmont)
  177. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  178.
  179. [20:47] Grizzt started off with the group, not knowing half of them. The others he did some what know. Aelrin a face he sort of remembered from the ice fishing trip.
  180.
  181. Suddenly a chill hit the air.. Odd the teraphim thought. Was it not summer? Cold here..didn't make much sense in his mind. Closer they made their way to achyon, the colder is got.. Felt like they were standing in Theria.
  182.
  183. Soon, he saw it. A dragon..."What?" Now he was very confused.. A dragon? He thought they were extinct..perhaps the books he read lied. Then again this was a creation..so maybe like the lab teraphims this too could be a fake. A bad taste came to the mouth of Grizzt, he hated those replicas with all of his crystal heart.
  184.
  185. Drawing his sword, darkness would engulf the body of Grizzt. As he prepared for what was to come.
  186. (Grizzt Gordan)
  187. [21:38] A trail of ice and mist obscure the land where the dragon passed by. Once lush and fertile soil now crinkle beneath hasty feet as pure ice. The Gelmont's brows sink in displeasure, a trail of mist huffing from his lips with each breath.
  188.
  189. "We can't afford to lag behind!"
  190.
  191. If only he'd landed a more crucial blow, then perhaps.. Perhaps more damage could've been avoided. "Tsk.." It wasn't long before they'd follow the chaos left behind and encroach upon the dragon's location yet again.
  192.
  193.
  194. "YOU--!"
  195.
  196. His tongue fumbles, how dare it bring its destruction to Osrona's perimeter. Admittedly, there was a sense of nostalgia, as a few miles from here is where he'd slaid the Tyrant Dragon several years ago.
  197.
  198. Could it be...?
  199.
  200. Nonetheless, its appearance changed, twisting, morphing into something else. Howls of pain and rage resonate through the night sky, but it did little to phase the adventurers. They had a task to do, and they would indeed see it through!
  201.
  202. "We struck it heavily once before, we can do it again!"
  203.
  204. The golden firestorm manifests on his form once more, blade angled towards the monster.
  205.
  206. "Don't make this too hard, fall silently. As Osronan children are sleeping."
  207. (Achilles Gelmont)
  208. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  209.
  210. [21:39] Ethia Alcast whispers something.
  211. [21:45] {Won Aggressive RPB against MDG-05 (Carl)}
  212. [21:47] {NARRATION} Narrating!
  213. [22:03] {NARRATION} The beast raged forward with the snowstorm behind itself. It's icy hide was battled, and more with the pressure under what it was going after. The constant struggle made it learn to use its tail, striking back with harder strikes.
  214.
  215. It's tail was growing bigger, even adding spikes to it for better use and battering. It wasn't just learning and growing, it was understanding. It started to read patterns, protect itself and fight off others while it focused on other people. It wasn't letting up, but it was still naive.
  216.
  217. With a quick movement of her bow Ethia pierced the dragon's hide with several ice spikes. Ones that turned the dragon's circuits into a hushed cycle of pain and disabled echoes. She aimed for the heart, but it's hide was too thick to pierce like that, but the spike stuck out of it.
  218.
  219. It roared once more, but it started to shake the land around itself. It was growing razor sharp teeth, it's back grew into a show of bone and marrow that wouldn't give in to what it showed. Icy blue scales started to molt and it's eyes turned from ajn Icy blue into a dark shade of red. It's eyes turned into a darker even more sinister sight. When the group saw it, they would see it growing once more, letting out a rusted screech, but there was something else there. It was faint, but it sounded....humanoid. But it was likely just the wind. It was too low to make out unless someone was sensitive to sound.
  220.
  221. The dragon started to flap it's wings, screeching before moving north, moving towards where Dragon fight and the molten rock around lies in wait for another fight to ensue. Yet where snow is still present.
  222. [22:08] Aelrin watches the monstrosity transform and then once again, flee to the north. Its blue scales transfiguring into a dark red. His ears twitched...as he thought he heard a sound...but he chalked it up the wind from the dragons beating wings.
  223.
  224. "This will most likely be the final bout friends. Lets finish what we started." he said as he began to make his way north.
  225. (Aelrin ven Astor)
  226. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  227.
  228. [22:11] Grizzt readied himself just as before. Allowing the shadows to guide him around the battlefield. Skating from shadow to shadow, enveloped by the darkness. He waited..waited..for his time to strike. He saw it!
  229.
  230. But as he leaped from the shadows, a mass of ice spikes shot from the ground. "Shit!" He yelled out as the ice engulfed him, tossing him to the ground and flowing over him, it reminded him of Ethia, if she was on an extreme level... If not for his fights with her and the knowledge of ice he had, he would be done for right now..
  231.
  232. Once again though, his shadows would save him from the life threatening situation, along with the teraphims ability to rapidly regenerate.. This was not something that would take him out of the fight so easily.
  233.
  234. "Don't let up! We can do this!" But as he uttered the words. The roaring of the monster became louder. Peaking and breaking away the ice that incased him.. Grizzt saw it all happen before his eyes. Amolting of a massive creature, disgusting he thought.. But still it was sort of cool.
  235.
  236. It started to grow and grow.. There was no end to it, this was by far the largest creature he had ever seen. Bigger then most kingdoms.. This thing if left free to roam would most likely only grow stronger and stronger.. To think this was an experiment..What else was that professor up? Grizzt readied himself again for what was to come.
  237. (Grizzt Gordan)
  238. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  239.
  240. [22:11] "Not again.."
  241.
  242. Lips pursed as he'd just absorbed the impact of the dragon's tail, laden with spikes. Sparks shed from their collision flit across the night sky as he'd skid backwards. His toes leaving two trenches in the dirt once he came to a stop.
  243.
  244. "Persevere, it won't last too much longer.."
  245.
  246. Though he spoke as if it were a casual manner, his voice was breathy, clearly the fight was taking some effect on the Gelmont. Still, he'd commit his blade until the very end, holy magic mending minor afflictions.
  247.
  248. "Just a little more!"
  249.
  250. With that, he'd give chase, ensuring not to lose sight of the hulking dragon fleeing to the mountains.
  251. (Achilles Gelmont)
  252. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  253.
  254. [22:13] Coating himself in steam produced by the essence from his own blood, he barely managed to withstand the beast's first push, his body completely covered in snow, feeling as if thousands of needles began to prick into his skin, yet managing to withstand the damage.
  255.
  256. Absorbing mana from his surroundings into a Crystal, it was only through suddenly releasing it and creating a shockwave that he was able to protect himself from the raging blizzard. His body shivering due to the slow temperature, but yet he still pushed on to follow after the Dragon and do his part.
  257.
  258. "You went for the heart?!" Seeing the spikes that almost killed the Dragon, he shook his head at Ethia's actions. "Not the goal here! But nice aim!" Offering her a thumbsup, he laughed it off.
  259.
  260. Maybe the time to chain it up had finally come, unfortunately, even if they wished... it was not there yet, and so, he could feel his frustration and anger rising when seeing the Dragon growing once more.
  261.
  262. 'Killing it would be so much easier...'
  263.
  264. But no... don't make an enemy out of the Benefactors, not if he wanted to have more bounties in the future. They could take it alive, they were not being pushed back yet.
  265. (Runihura)
  266. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  267.
  268. [22:14] Ethia was quick on her feet and knew better this time that distance was key if she was ever going to make it out alive. Using her bow to project ice towards the dragon many shattered on impact, some melted from the heat that Achilles produced...
  269.
  270. But a few, a few managed to stick in deep! She ran round the area, making sure to heal allies and push the monster back with ice walls and large amounts of water. She was still not strong enough to turn all the water into ice.. Tsk
  271.
  272. She persevered, dodging all that she could.
  273.
  274. Then while the others were beating on it she found an opening on its chest. She kneeled down and strected out her bow as far as it was going to go. She needed strength for this shot.
  275.
  276. Her finger released, and the ice shard impaled the dragon seeping its mana towards the creatures heart.
  277.
  278. Carl or no Carl this thing needed to die.
  279.
  280. But just like that it was off again, leaving a trail of snow for them to trudge though.
  281.
  282. "Do you really want this thing is Esshar Runi??! This thing could flatten a city!" She was very much going to kill it.
  283. (Ethia Alcast)
  284. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  285.
  286. [22:15] This was definitely not their average dragon.
  287.
  288. As the battle raged on with a combination of magics destroying the nearby area. Each passing second the Dragon-kin's rage began to grow. Each passing moment it thrashed his wings about as it swung their massive about, devastating the area as the several magis separated to avoid it's destructive blows.
  289.
  290. "Split it's attention, attack it from it's blind side and throw it off balance!"
  291.
  292. Acheron called out directions as he floated from above, conjuring metaphysical blows as he dashed away from it's fatal blows.
  293.
  294. "Don't get trapped by it-!"
  295.
  296. Golden orbs rose as the sight of the dragon grew.
  297.
  298. Blood sprayed from it's back as spine like bones shot out from it's rear, adoring it like armor as it's hubris grew. It's size became larger by the passing second, easily bringing if now suprass the look of an adult Dragon.
  299.
  300. Smirking anxiously as it was his first time encountering a dragon first, he couldn't help but feel like he was combatting the great red titan themselves as the creature towered before him.
  301.
  302. An impulse, maybe? A shockwave radiated through his body as he watched it's beady eyes glare down upon them. Looking down to them as if they were nothing but cattle. Just an annoyance they were bound to get rid of.
  303.
  304. Acheron chuckled.
  305.
  306. Raising his hands to his sides, shadowy tendrils arose from his frame, lashing out at his surroundings as he rose to it's height.
  307.
  308. "We're a bad match up for you."
  309.
  310. He spoke as he quickly rushed towards it's abnormal size, flying higher through the clouds as he pulled back his fist, bolstering his strength as as he condensed the gravity that surrounded his form.
  311.
  312. "You just made yourself a bigger target. And I'll gladly exploit that you prideful bitch."
  313.
  314. Quickly avoiding a blastof frozen ice that spread from it's maw, the Rhonyur threw his fist forward. Cracking it across the side with a devastating blow as he forced it back a step.
  315.
  316. "I'm going to show you what happens to those who looks down upon us."
  317.
  318.
  319. (Acheron Erebus)
  320. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  321.
  322. [22:17] {Item} You picked up Sinka..
  323. [22:25] {Won Aggressive RPB against MDG-05 (Carl)}
  324. [22:40] The more he fought, the more he felt his idea of keeping it alive going down the drain. a whisper in his mind murmuring, all that training coming back to mind.
  325.
  326. 'Kill it... kill it.. kill it...'
  327.
  328. That blood curdling rage making his body tremble and the rage start breaking his initial mask of calm and desire to take the beast as unharmed as possible.
  329.
  330. Even if it didn't seem like it, the Rhoynur was attempting his best in order to follow right behind his group. While his magics were not the best to deal severe in a small ammount of time, he was still capable of doing his fair share of work, even more so as they approached the end.
  331.
  332. Despite how obvious it was, that none of them should approach the Dragon as it enveloped itself into a cloud of snow with icicles flying around it, the Rhoynur alone dared to go through, knowing how the Dragon was to finally going down.
  333.
  334. Even as the frostbite slowed him down, he pushed through with one final roar, a pulse of energy flowing through his body as he went forward.
  335.
  336. Small crystals float around him, trying to shield him as they can while his bloody steam also acted as a coat around his body.
  337.
  338. Piercing through the cloud of snow, he manages to summon a singular pillar of Crystal that breaks through the snow, stabbing onto Dragon's stomach. More rise through the ground and begin, puncturing it's legs and arms and keeping the beast pinned to the ground, but probably killing it as well.
  339.
  340. A single Crystal flying forward and sticking itself like a parasite to one of it's open wounds, draining their blood by sucking it while the creature reverted back to it's normal size. The Rhoynur was attempting on draining as much of it's blood as it could.
  341.
  342. He lost his calm in the midst of his rage. Pursing his lips as he found himself now drenched in the blood of the dragon, he wiped his face.
  343.
  344. "I'll compensate all of you for this... loss..."
  345. (Runihura)
  346. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  347.
  348. [22:43] Grizzt prepared. A deep breath in and one out.. This was it. The final moment, to end all of this. To put this dragon away.. Their goal was to capture such a beast. In his eyes it could be used a good tool for the weaver, but it was doubtful he'd ever get such a behemoth back to Moxtli.. What would they even say to him if he did?
  349.
  350. He was off! Using his illusion and shadow magic, along with the sword skills he had acquired over the last long year of training. Tossing his time magic to the side, it was worthless in this moment and in the moment when he truly needed it.. It took so many loses for him to figure it out. To figure out that healing his wounds and reversing time would not help him grow stronger. It would do the opposite, make him scared to fight..
  351.
  352. He'd never be!
  353.
  354. Shadows would spread out from every corner of Grizzt.. Connecting his shadow to the shadow of the dragon. He' vanish from view, soaring through the shadow. Just like he haddone to Maazu. Appearing next to the dragon, rising from its shadow. He'd swing upward with all of his might, into the side of the massive dragon.. Was his small strike even going to budge it? "Screw it.." It was doubtful he'd kill this thing alone, so why not? for a moment just go all out.
  355.
  356. As the strike hit the dragon, shadows from himself, the dragon and all around would engulf the sword of Grizzt. Swinging downward on the same area as before. The shadows would explode out! Knocking Grizzt away, seems it was far too much power for the young teraphim to handle yet.. But that same hit also sent him into the ground, skating across the ice, rolling over it. The ice would pierce into his flesh.
  357.
  358.
  359. "AHH!" He yelled out..
  360.
  361.
  362. Slowly standing up he'd see it. Runi ended the fight.. Grizzt slowly fell to his backside. Clinging to his sword.. "Does this make up for that gem you gave me ?"
  363. (Grizzt Gordan)
  364. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  365.
  366. [22:48] The beast turned and few it's way up the mountain.. There were so many stairs to climb, she could feel her bandages constricting per movement. But her natural lapin speed kept her at the same speed as the others.
  367.
  368. And as they took the final step she realized they had gotten to the top of the mountain. This would be their battle field for the next fight.. It was almost fitting to end it in Theria. Damn thing was a menace!
  369.
  370. Once again it hit them with an array of icy attacks, but what kind of magi would Ethia be if she let herself be overpowered by someone else's ice? The nerve of that- She would have to prove herself.
  371.
  372. She would prove herself.
  373.
  374. She would hit it back with her own barrage of ice and water.. She aimed to kill- But Runi hit it first. Nailing it with his crystals and pinning the beast to the ground.
  375.
  376. "Well shit man, you did not have to go all bloody crazy on it." He was in deep need of a bath.
  377.
  378. She peered over to what fell from the dragon... She wondered if she could get her hands on it.
  379. (Ethia Alcast)
  380. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  381.
  382. [22:51] Shards of ice exploded, broken through the sheer force of the squad's combined efforts. The shroud of gold and amber flames that constantly circled him would incinerate the finer pieces of ice that escaped alert eyes.
  383.
  384. Constant threads of steam wafted across his form accompanied by soft sizzles. Pent up breath gushed from his lips as his chest rose and fell with a steady rhythm. Fingers twist firmly around the hilt of his sword, a coalescence of magic battering armored scales restlessly.
  385.
  386. Weakened but not defeated, the dragon continued to rampage; imparting havoc anywhere it disembarked. Quite the hinderance to subdue instead of killing, but they'd given their word that they would complete the mission, did they not?
  387.
  388. "..no time to rest.."
  389.
  390. He murmured, feet shifting through ice and snow as destruction threatened to spread over the horizon. There was a need to end this, and it needed to end now. Flickering fire regained prior vigor, flaring into a firestorm once more, equally golden and salamander in hue.
  391.
  392. Achilles charged, alongside the other magi present. Merging efforts to weaken the dragon, it all seemed futile until Runihura went the extra mile. Using his weapon and magic to strike a hefty blow onto the dragon, one that proved to be.. fatal.
  393.
  394. Immediately a scowl occupied the youth's face, marching across the snow to grab at Runihura's shoulder and turn him towards the Gelmont. "What the Hel was that?! We gave our word to bring it back but you pull this?!"
  395. (Achilles Gelmont)
  396. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  397.
  398. [22:57] Aelrin sighed as he watched Runihara finish the beast. The client would not be pleased. But he shrugged as he figured death was inevitable for the creature. He didn't care either way. His only goal was to protect his comrades. He didn't care for the Professors opinion anyway.
  399.
  400. "Nice one Runihara. Beast should've been put down in the first place. We wouldn't have had these issues. But something feels a little off...Didn't he say this was an experiment?" he asked raising his eyebrow.
  401.
  402. "Maybe we should question this Professor."
  403. (Aelrin ven Astor)
  404. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  405.
  406. [23:01] "Dragons are creatures that deserve to die."
  407.
  408. For once in his life, Acheron threw away his façade. Just by standing in the face of the Dragon itself, he felt his own essence reach out towards it. A driving hunger that plagued his core, forcing him to lust for one thing. The very mindset that was brain washed in him since birth.
  409.
  410. It's death.
  411.
  412. A euphoric rage enveloped him, driving him to kill the beast despite the reward that was promised to the lot of them. His frame lurched forward as his lips spread wide.
  413.
  414. He was found laughing maniacally as the weight of a falling meteor crashing against it's form as a several metaphysical blows clashed against it.
  415.
  416. Thralls of shadow manifestations crawled from the depths of their surroundings, pulling against the frame of the Shadow as reality distorted itself from his pull.
  417.
  418. Reality shifted from his assaults' as his mana circuits burned from within.
  419.
  420. Bloods poured from the corner of his eyes as he clasped his hands together, compacting the creature in place as he forced it in place. Encasing it in a metaphysical cage preventing all of it's mobility as he roared from above.
  421.
  422. "IT'S NOT PERFECT, BUT WHO CARES!?"
  423.
  424. Step by step, he felt the dragon's strength break away his invisible cage, ripping free from his grasp as it continued on his rampage. Yet he continued to press it down, crushing it underneath the weight of the worlds as he continued to push his limits, passing the threshold that normally capped magis from exerting to much force from their own mana.
  425.
  426. Reality pulled from his cause, ripping a fragment of space as a rift split open between the physical realm, opening a momentary tear in reality as Runihura came to deliver the final blow. Bringing an end to it's ravenous life that would've wrecked destructions like an unidentifiable plague.
  427.
  428. Breathing heavily as his mana drew low, his frame slowly fell towards the grown as his team came victorious in their endeavors. Choosing to slay the beast rather than keeping it. The very thing that Runihura and him were breed to do.
  429.
  430. His chest rose and fall as he finally gave out just as his feet touched the floor. Crashing into the ground as he grabbed at the white snow.
  431.
  432. With the battle coming to an end, he released his magics, unconsciously using what little mana was left to close the tear that he had opened.
  433.
  434. "Heh... Fuck that Dragon..."
  435. (Acheron Erebus)
  436. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  437.
  438. [23:02] "100% even." Giving a thumbsup towards Grizzt. Their debt for the gem was more than paid.
  439.
  440. He did not feel bad about what he had done.
  441.
  442. The moment a hand was put on his shoulder, the fact it was Achilles's out of all people immediately made him turn around and slap their hand. "Yeah, and we failed. That beast is now dead as it should be!" He pushes the Gelmont away.
  443.
  444. 'Drakanite loving piece of...' Sighing, he walked away from Achilles's and towards it's the corpse.
  445.
  446. "Fuck...!" Walking forward, he walked towards the Dragon and by manipulating whatever blood there still was in it's flesh, he instantly tore a hole through it's chest and reached forward to grab the Core. Holding it in it's hand now and also grabing the bloodstone which had absorbed it's chilly blood.
  447.
  448. "I said I will make up for your loss. What would we have gained here anyways?Probably just a thousand coins each at most." Shaking his head, he moved to put the core inside his bag, not planning on letting someone else take it.
  449.
  450. "I called you here for this, the responsability is mine. Don't worry about anything else, in the end. This is on me... I'll deal with it. If they really wanted such a strong beast alive, they should have prepared more coin." This was much more valuable than whatever they got from it.
  451.
  452. "I'll pay you all for your troubles, like I told you." He was the one who called them here, that was the minimum he could do. "If you should focus on anything, is how such a powerful creature was just an 'experiment'."
  453. (Runihura)
  454. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  455.
  456. [23:14] Runihura's own hand was slapped away, deflecting the push against him. While kind, he was never one to be pushed around by others. The crystal gaze looms over Runihura, unmoving and silent while snow framing his physique sizzles softly.
  457.
  458. The stare narrows to a squint, "Be clear about your intentions the next time you pull something like this. My word is not something to be taken lightly, and I won't have the actions of others sullying it."
  459.
  460. Of course, he wasn't unreasonable either. His focus shifts, eyeing the faces present before speaking out. "I'm not sure what kind of experiment was conducted.. But there is some merit to the dishonor we've committed."
  461.
  462. The carcass is moved towards, an ominous airs surrounding it. There was a moment during the battle in which something felt.. Off. Like there was more to this than they were being told. This dragon was.. Was it even truly a dragon?
  463.
  464. His form shifts on his heel. Looking to Runihura, "I'll be expecting the promised compensation." With a huff, he pivots and departs, the crunch of snow beneath his boots fading into the distance.
  465. (Achilles Gelmont)
  466. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  467.
  468. [23:17] {NARRATION} Final Narration!
  469. [23:24] {NARRATION} As the dragon took on the very last hit from the dark haired man, the dragon, known as Carl started to shutter. Its body falling limp as it's form was taken up on a better one, a form of a corpse.
  470.
  471. It was dead on the spot as it's core laid in the hole made on it's chest. It shined like a pearl in moonlight, yet it seemed to glow when around those who possessed power.
  472.
  473. As it's body laid there, it's blood was taken by that very same man, taken like a trophy for their collection. It's dark wings vanished, being nothing more then a giant lizard as it's cold breath got colder, yet to itself it remained.
  474.
  475. From their fighting, The Professor came up to the group,in a fit of rage, but not towards them. It was angry towards the dragon.
  476.
  477. "Since when did you have the evolutionary properties and power to make such a feat! I kept you in containment to study you after I made you and you do something like this!!!!"
  478.
  479. The Professor was pissed, yet he started to wimper down, his tail slcaked.
  480.
  481. "2 years of research....down the drain...But....at least this one made it past the incubation trial....at least there's that....I guess I can feed your flesh to the buzzards and use your bones for stock....I'm sure Mi'lady would enjoy nawing on your marrow for nutrients...."
  482.
  483. The professor took out his bag of coin, only to toss it towards Runihura.
  484.
  485. "Take the coin, go....you're no longer needed. "
  486.
  487. With that, the group would be finished here.
  488. [23:30] With a wide grin on his face after grabbing the core, he couldn't help but feel like bursting out laughing, although no one would understand why.
  489.
  490. Shaking his head, his focus instantly went towards the scientist as they approached, yelling and raging towards the body of the mutated dragon. His arm instantly acting in reflex as he grabbed the coin bag tossed at him.
  491.
  492. "Thanks... it's a shame what happened here." Looking the scientist over, he makes sure of one thing, to listen to everything they had to say.
  493.
  494. 'I will remember what they look like'.
  495.
  496. Turning his gaze away after a brief moment, he walks around to instantly spread the coin around, not keeping any for himself. "I'll get you all more of it soon enough."
  497. (Runihura)
  498. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  499.
  500. [23:30] Ethia put her hands in her pockets, this man's problems were not her own. She did not care, the beast NEEDED to die. She would be thankful she was not the only one that thought that.
  501.
  502. "Perhaps next time you don't let loose something that can destroy a small city- then perhaps you would have gotten your toy back."
  503.
  504. She feared what else this man could be making in that lab of his, it would be best to destroy the damn thing. Where was Burke when you needed him???
  505.
  506. But at least they were still paid their dues.
  507.
  508. "We should get back to town, its getting real late." She would tiptop her way though the snow to Runi and held out her hand. It was time to be paid.
  509.
  510. "We should talk later too"
  511.
  512. She intended to offer him a trade.
  513. (Ethia Alcast)
  514. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  515.
  516. [23:31] Grizzt watched as the dragon was slain. He wondered if a creature like that..if it was hard for it to live. Though Grizzt was a teraphim of the weaver, one connected to the shadows. Still he held passion for the life and the lifestream.. Inherited from being a teraphim.. Truly this was the way it had to go.
  517.
  518. As Grizzt got himself composed and back together.. Nothing short of a miracle he didn't wind up hurt, most fights he seemed to be out of it and beaten to the ground.. Maybe he was growing stronger? Looking around.. The dark teraphim would cliched his fist. No, he wasn't strong, just in numbers. Alone he could feel it, he still needed to grow to become more then he was right now.
  519.
  520. "Right.." The Professor came onto the scene, where was he hiding the entire time? Grizzt thought to himself. Perhaps he watched to see how his experiment would fair against some magis.. Still the thought of the man producing such a thing, flared up Grizzt.. He'd keep his comments to himself for the time being. They were getting paid. That is all that mattered..
  521.
  522. "Lets return home."
  523. (Grizzt Gordan)
  524. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  525.
  526. [23:35] The crunching of boots paused--
  527.
  528. --If the professor was to be upset, then he couldn't leave the group behind to be berated and not him, right? It was due to him lacking the resources to subdue the dragon why it was allowed to rampage for so long and for things to get this far.
  529.
  530. The professor was pissed, understandably so, but he was pissed for the wrong reasons. At least, it was completely different than the reasons Achilles had expected. His expression falls into a daze, blinking unhurriedly in the man's direction.
  531.
  532. Still, if he wasn't displeased with the group, it made things easier to handle. In which case, a cursory glance was given to Runihura. It seemed things worked out in the end, in which he took the gold that was distributed to him.
  533.
  534. "..yeah, time to head home."
  535.
  536. No need to overthink things, the matter was settled, conveniently too.
  537. (Achilles Gelmont)
  538. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  539.
  540. [23:36] The battle was contagious.
  541.
  542. One filled with destruction and in the end. A lifeless, experimental corpse.
  543.
  544. Slowly, coming to grasps of his own mortality. Acheron pushed himself to a stand before dusting off his clothing. Preparing himself for the long journey down as the group would have the haul the body down in hopes of not upsetting the scientist.
  545.
  546. Turning to face the argument that came between Runihura and Achilles. The maddened scientist clamored towards them as their frustration with the conclusion was evident.
  547.
  548. Rolling his shoulders as he observed the situation from afar. He remained ready incase the mad man would try to cause any further problems with them. However, as time came to pass it was clear that the scientist was mad with the Dragon.
  549.
  550. If one could even call it that.
  551.
  552. With coin being dispersed amongst the six. Acheron remained silently as he took his earnings before following Runihura's stead. Satisficed of the result that the group had made.
  553.
  554. Including the very act of Runihura being the one to slay the beast.
  555.
  556. (Acheron Erebus)
