Rance and party move to the south eastern city of Borgo Z. It has a population of over 100,000 people and is the nearest large city to Leazas. Because of that it benefits from trade and is quite wealthy (by Helman standards).
Patton and Hubert talk about how in the past the food in Borgo Z was quite delicious. Rance decides to go inside to scout. Patton thinks that it might be good for Rance to see the present stage of Helman.
All they get is moldy bread and potatos. Shizuka considers the food horrible. The bread sounds like a rock when knocked against the table. Hubert says that it is typical Helman bread. Patton says that when you get to the inside it is quite tasty and that he finds the bread of other countries too soft. Rance asks if Patton has a mouth of iron.
Lucien warns him that soldiers are surrounding the restaurant. The woman leading them is familiar to Rance (Ruberan). She announces that Rance is to be arrested for mass rapes.
When pressed by Hubert Rance reveals that he had been to this town before and loved many of the girls. Hubert asks why he didn't reveal that to them before they entered the town to eat. They are accused of being Rance's friends to which Shizuka responds with "Rude!".
A fight breaks out.

Shortly into the fight and Rance's party is getting overwhelmed by the numbers. Hubert tells Rance that the girls in the rear (Shizuka/Maria/Russian) are in danger. Rance tells Hubert to go and protect them with his life because it doesn't matter if he dies.
Maria tries to apologise to Hubert for Rance's comment but Hubert says that he knows it's Rance and it's almost nostlagic.
But just as Rance's party is in a big trouble a mysterious stranger wearing red and awesome mask (covering the eyes) appears. Patton wonders who it appears but the stranger calls out to Rance saying that it's been a long time Lord Rance. Rance recognises that it is Rick. So does Hubert (he saw Rick's face in Rance IV). Tilde is also there and says she'll help Rance. Patton wonders why such a pretty girl is with the Red Death. Patton wonders if they will help them, Rick says that Lia ordered them to help Rance. Rance says that he never asked for Lia to do that. Tilde says they can sort out the details after finishing the fight. Rance asks Rick about the mask and says it's looks like Rick has had a transformation, Rick is quite pleased while Tilde is dubiously thinking to herself but not saying anything.

After the fight Rick tells Rance it is an honour to fight with him again (Tilde is getting ignored - obviously she's a lesser priority to Rance than Rick is). Rance is being tsundere about not wanting to be happy about a new male companion even if it is Rick so he tells Rick that it's fine as long as he isn't a nuisance. Tilde then greets Rance and Rance happily adds her to the team. She tells Rance that she'll work hard but Rance says that she doesn't need to. She's cute and that's all she needs to be. Tilde pouts and says that she'll fight. Patton is watching and is quite happy to have gained the Red Death as a companion. The fight has caused a commotion so Rance doesn't have time to fuck Ruberan. But then Ruberan gets up and handcuffs Rance before fainting. Hubert offers to cut the handcuffs but Rance is pleased with this and takes Ruberan with him as they withdraw.

Ruberan wakes up in a tent in Rance's camp. Merci is talking to her and trying to convince her that the camp is enemies of the people of Helman. But because she can't explain what they are doing she can't provide any evidence. She does however remove Ruberan's restraints. Rance walks in and starts yelling at Merci asking what is happening. He says that if Ruberan is released without getting hurt she'll get in trouble and be accused of being a spy. Merci wonders what to do but Rance says he'll rape Ruberan. Merci is reluctant to let that happen but Rance tells her that if she doesn't leave he'll make it a 3P. She's still not happy because she had just promised Ruberan that she wouldn't be harmed so Rance knocks her out. Ruberan is trying to resist and threatens to bite her tongue an die before getting raped. But Rance grabs her and shoves her facedown into the ground and fucks her from behind. Despite Ruberan's protests Rance cums inside. Ruberan then faints.

Patton and Hubert are talking in the camp about Rance and the fight. Rance comes out and talks to them. Patton wants to spread the word that this is Rance's outlaw group so to better hide the connection to his revolution. Rance is reluctant because outlaw sounds criminal. But Shizuka comes in bring a wanted poster for Rance. It was in Ruberan's possession. Maria exlaims that the drawing of Rance just oozes evil to which Shizuka responds that it closely resembles Rance. Maria's worried about not being able to return to Kathtom if she's considered an outlaw but Rance and Patton say that if they win they won't be considered outlaws. Rance has had a change of heart and says that outlaw has a wild and cool charm to it and Shizuka tells him that it really fits him. Rance chooses to take it as Shizuka calling him cool. So the group is now calling itself a group of outlaws. At the periphery of the group Tilde is talking to Rick and tells him that it seems they have become outlaws. Rick says that he thought it would happen anyway. Tilde is worried about Barres getting angry but Rick says that its fine because Barres understands Rance as well. Tilde is disappointed because she wanted to live more gracefully.

We then have a small scene giving more background about Helman. It explains that Helman is the Northern Empire and of the world's three great nations it has the largest army. It then breaks down the various armies which is explained above in the Helman Military section. It then shifts to Mineva and the third army and explains how she's strong/ruthless etc and all the stuff we know from III/03/KR/Quest. She is talking with one of her subordinates about how a subjugation force has been sent to fight Patton in Laborie. The forces is going to Laborie via to the city of Parnas.
Apparently the subjugation force is made up of 2,000 Knights which both Mineva and her subordinate find stupid. The knights have mostly been drawn from the First Army much to the protest of the various generals. Even though the soldiers are mostly drawn from the first army, Lelyukov is not in command of the subjugation force. Instead in a classic display of nepotism Stessel's nephew Kechak has been appointed. Mineva has a low opinion of Kechak and expects the subjugation to end in failure.

In Laborie Hunty is reading a letter she got from Patton informing her of the events and how they are pretending to be an outlaw group. The attention of the Empire is on Laborie and even the bulk of the fourth army has been sent west. Hunty explains to fake Patton that Patton's group will go an attack Sudori 13 and kill the general of the fourth army while the army is away. With the general dead the army should collapse as a fighting force. Hunty explains that Rance is in charge of the 'outlaws'. Fake Patton wonders if Rance is a great commander but Hunty tells him that Rance is only an adventurer but Patton has an extremely high opinion of him.
A soldier comes in and tells them that enemy forces have come to attack them from Parnas in the North.

Back to Rance's outlaws.
Patton is training while Rance walks past. Patton calls out to Rance and asks if he wants to join. Rance says that it would be unpleasant to which Patton laughs. Patton asks about how Russian is following Rance all the time. Russian is notably very quiet around Patton. Patton again thanks Rance for joining him saying that he didn't really expect it but Rance says he only joined because Patton was crying so much. Patton says he'll cry more if it gets Rance to help but Rance then tells him than a man's tears are disgusting.
Rance then reveals that he actually had another secret goal to going to Helman but when pressed decides not to reveal it saying that is'a a really noble, ambition that someone like Patton would never understand. Patton says that he might be able to help if Rance tells him.

Rance still doesn't tell him but puts on a perverted face and reveals that Empress Sheila Helman is another goal of his.
Russian makes an "eh?" sound. Rance says he has heard that Sheila is a very beautiful woman and that he will have sex with her and make her his woman.
Patton responds with "I see" and commends Rance for actually saying that to Sheila's elder brother. Rance then finally realises that Patton = Prince of Helman, Sheila = Princess of Helman and that they're brother and sister.
Though Patton says they're only half siblings and have a different mother. Rance asks Patton if Sheila is really as beautiful as rumoured. Patton says that it's hard to say because she's his sister but yes she's really lovely and that Rance would like her a lot.
Meanwhile Russian is listening quietly to this conversation.
Rance asks Patton if he would stop him if he took Sheila. Patton says that he wouldn't like it but if Sheila really disliked Rance he'd fight Rance even if it costs him his life. But if Sheila is happy with it then he has no intention of interfering and that he really doesn't want to fight Rance. Rance tells him to be relieved because Sheila will naturally fall to his charm at first sight.
Patton asks him to be gentle and nice to Sheila. Russian is silently blushing which Rance points out. Rance then leaves with Russian following him.

Hunty was also there and then talks to Patton. She was listening to the conversation and has a few concerns especially about Rance using Sheila to get the throne of Helman. Patton tells her that Rance isn't someone interested in ruling and that he'd get bored quickly and leave. But Hunty still has concerns about Rance wanting to use Helman as a base to gain power across the world. Patton laughs and says that he'd love to see Rance unify the world and take to the fight against the demons. Hunty is surprised about high Patton rates Rance but he tells her that she'll soon understand if he keeps on observing. Patton then asks if Hunty has had any trouble. Hunty tells him that the first wave of enemies had attacked but were repulsed. Patton asks if they were from the 4th army but Hunty says it was 2000 soldiers from Parnas. Patton is surprised to here that it 2000 knights (because that's retarded) and that according to Hunty they randomly just charged at a wall. Hunty did not recognise the commander but it was someone young. Hunty then finishes her report and goes to leave back to Laborie (via her teleporting thing).

In Rance's magic house. Rance runs his finger over a shelf. He then calls for Russian and asks if this shelf has been cleaned. Russian tells him that she just finished it and asks if he is angry. Rance tells her it's okay and Russian pats her chest and makes a sigh of relief. He tells her to fix one ornament to the right place and also pulls up her skirt and praises her panties. Afterwards he sends Russian to do the washing. He thinks to himself that she's learned how to clean things very quickly. Rance initially thought she might just be a good looking but useless person but is impressed by her learning speed, her strong work ethic and he's also really pleased by her abilities in the bedroom. He thinks to himself that he's been incredibly lucky.

Shizuka is nearby and asks Rance if that girl is his new slave. She then asks if Sill has become irrelevant. Rance says it's different. Sill is slave 1 and Russian is slave 2 and that he's definitely going to unfreeze Sill. He says that he'll look after anyone that is his and if someone is his they are his for life. Shizuka says that's irrelevant to her.
Suddenly Kanami comes running in and gets Rance to follow her. Russian had been attacked by a monster. She had seen a giant peach in the river when drawing water and went to touch it and released the monster. Rance tells her it's common sense that a peach in a lake is a high level monster and Russian apologises. A fight starts with Rance/Russian/Kanami/Shizuka in the party. It's against a giant crab.
After the fight Russian is apologising to Rance saying that if it wasn't for her there wouldn't have been a fight but Rance says not to worry and that it was a good way to kill boredom. He then suddenly changes his mind and tells Russian to expect punishment later (of the sexual kind). Russian blushes. They then look in the peach and get peach stones which Rance throws into the river. Shizuka remarks that he has bad taste.
Russian is confused so Shizuka explains to her that when exposed to water those peach stones become peaches like the one she just opened and will become monsters. Rance says that Borgo Z is downstream so they'll go down there and distract the garrison which helps with their mission. Russian gets angry and starts grabbing the peach stones saying that a lot of innocent people will get hurt. Rance hits Russian in the head telling her that she's a slave and not to talk back to him and then walks off saying that he doesn't care about the peach stones and let Russian deal with them. Russian falls to the ground saying that she had yelled out instinctively but Shizuka consoles her and says it's good to do that sometimes.

Morning at Rance's house. Rance is having breakfast with Kanami and Russian. It's rice. Rance asks Russian if she cooked it and she says that Kanami taught her. Rance tells her that it's not bad and to continue devoting herself to learning. Kanami tells Russian that she learns quickly and will become a good cook very quickly. Rance asks for seconds but Russian apologies saying she didn't cook any more. So Rance eats her food. Seeing that Russian has no food Kanami discretely gives her some of her own meal.
Rance is in a good mood because his stomach is full and is working in the camp. He talks to Maria, hits on her and massages her chest (this 5 line conversation is pretty much their only interaction so far this game). He then goes to Maria and Shizuka's tent to try and see Shizuka but she isn't there so he leave and then runs into Merci who is working and is wary of him (they've fucked an additional 2 times of screen apparently). Rance lets her go to her relief and then calls her back to ask about where Tilde is living and why Tilde isn't staying at his house. Merci tells her that Tilde is staying in the tents (with Rick).
Rance sees Tilde by the river. Tilde thanks him for his polite invitation to stay at his house but she has to refuse because she doesn't want special treatment and points out that Shizuka and Maria are living in a tent. She thinks to herself that it's just polite fiction and her real goal is that she doesn't want to be seen as Rance's woman because if the revolution suceeds Patton and Hubert among other men will become very important people and could be possible targets. But she also recognises that Rance is important so she has to maintain good relations with him to open up many possibilities.

Rance returns to his house after waiting for Russian to clean his room goes to his room and thinks about all the beautiful girls in the camp. Shizuka and Maria are always there but he knows he has to patient but he will get his chance later. Shizuka always tries to run away. Russian is a good quality slave who has to continue to train sexually. Kanami also tries to run away like Shizuka but he thinks he might be able to get her to voluntarily become his. And then there is Tilde who he will mould into an appropriate woman for him. He then goes to sleep think of all the girls.

At night and Rance is sitting around a campfire complaining that he has to talk to Patton and Hubert because there aren't any girls. Russian pours him a drink. He asks her to get Shizuka and Maria but she says they went to sleep because they were tired. Patton offers Rance some Helman alcohol to blow off some steam but he refuses it saying that Patton should have been a beautiful woman instead. Tilde is sitting by Rance's side and sulks about Rance forgetting her.
Meanwhile Russian is pouring Rick some tea. Hubert offers Rick some alcohol instead but Rick says he is here on government matters so can't. Rick takes out a letter from Lia that was addressed to Rance and Rick.
Lia's letter to Rance is all about how fighting the Helman Army is a serious thing so please borrow Rick and Tilde to help. And that Lia has a lot of faith in darling but she's still worried about him and prays that he comes back safely. Love Lia.
To Patton on the other hand is something like
Due to the recommendation of the Generals the Leazas army will no make no movements at this point at time. Lia agrees with this because Darling said so but if Darling asks for help the Leazas army will move immediately. She also mentions that Leazas has not forgotten the invasion four years ago.
Patton remarks that Lia is quite scary but Rance disagrees. Kanami says that Lia only acts like that to Rance.
The topic then goes on to Rick's clothing. He says he isn't wearing his armour and helmet to hide his identity and that it would be bad if it were known that Leazas soldiers were involved. Hubert offers him some armour but Rick refuses saying that Helman armour is too heavy for his style of fighting. The talk then goes on to Rick's sword.
Patton asks Rick why he is still wearing a mask. Rick reveals that he can't calm down to fight without covering his face. Tilde says that incidentally she's never seen Rick's face either because he always wears a helmet or a mask. Rick starts to get peer pressured into removing his mask until Rance decides to just grab it and take it off, revealing Rick's face. Rick loses all his confidence and everyone is surprised about the true face of the Red Death. Kanami is complaining about Rick's reaction to losing his mask being a Leazas state secret. Rick get's his mask back and immediately his confident personality returns.

A flashback to Leazas Castle. Leila and Barres are talking about Lia's decision to send Rick to help Rance. Leila is worried about it. Rick isn't taking his armour so nobody should recognise him as a Leazas soldier but she's worried about Rick's issue with fighting without a helmet. Tilde says that she can go and help out as well. Barres and Rick agree saying that Tilde is strong and should be able to help out. Leila is about to offer herself to go with Rick instead but Barres points out that missing the head of the Red Army and the head of the Royal Guard at the same time will be a problem so Leila agrees to send Tilde. Tilde thinks to herself that it's a great opportunity to build connections and prove her worth. Leila is worried because of Tilde's usual character and scolds Tilde and tells her to be on her best behaviour and remember that she is representing the Leazas Royal Guard. Rick and Tilde then leave to go see Lia.
Back to the Outlaws camp and Tilde is remembering this while training next to the river. She's angry with Leila.

Meanwhile in Lang Bau the council ruling Helman is meeting. Empress Dowager Pamela is ruling on behalf of her daughter until Sheila comes of age and takes the seat at the head of the table. With her are Prime Minister Stessel Romanov, Economic Secretary Bashou Matio (obese fuck) and the head of Helman's military Kechak Bangor (Stessel's nephew) and standing behind Stessel is a three metre tall iron soldier (Tousho Bastet). Bastet is Stessel's private body guard.
Stessel brings up the first point of order - confusion of the plague from two years before which wiped out 20% of the population. Stessel, Kechak and Bashou agree to do nothing with Stessel saying that Helman is a strong country and will recover.
The second agenda is that Helman's ruling council is meant to have 8 people but instead only has the four. Stessel says that since there are no people good enough to fill the role they can't fill any of the vacancies.
Stessel ends the report. Pamela accepts and then says that she will go to her private room and Stessel can give her a full report there. She then leaves. The soliders lining the walls are slightly dubious about Stessel visiting her private room while Kechak and Bashou stay quiet because they know of Stessel and Pamela's relationship.
Suddenly a soldier runs in with an urgent report of the 2000 man strong Laborie subjugation force getting defeated. Kechak is trying to over it up while Stessel is very dubious. Kechak claims that it was just a scouting force sent to check out the forces defending Laborie. Stessel and Bashou don't accept this with Bashou pointing out that you only need 10% of that to scout. Stessel is unhappy with Kechak's strategy and excuses and tells the soldier to continue reporting. The soldier reports that Laborie had many knights. Bashou is interested in how so many Helman knights defected without the military noticing, Kechak admits that there have been reports of equipment going missing. Bashou concludes that the rebellion is well planned. Kechak is angry and wants to utterly crush the rebellion. Stessel tells him to continue with the strategy and use the forces from the 2nd and 4th armies.
