- Samus whipped Squirtle forward and hurled him at the creature. The wind whipped into a solid cone around him as he became a deadly projectile in his own right. When the shell struck, it did more than daze the monster, it sent the thing staggering back. Its eyes became unfocused, its legs shaking like jelly, its head struggled to stay upright.
- Leaf saw her opportunity and pitched the PMB at it again. This time, the creature didn’t react at all to being tagged, it was just sucked up into one of the runes.
- It fell to the ground, the rune glowing red. Wobbled once. Wobbled twice.
- And the red rune faded to a soft orange.
- “Yes!” Leaf hopped out from behind her cover and pumped her fist. Then realized where everything was stranded. “Um, could you bring Squirtle and the ball back with you?”
- Squirtle popped back out of his shell, looking dizzy but otherwise grinning with a simple happiness.
- Samus obliged, she gathered everything up, took Squirtle under her arm again, and with another running jump landed back on Leaf’s side of the stream.
