Ragnorra Session 65

Start: 3 pm, Thursday, Eleasis 12, 1396

Immediately after the battle, Vix ordered her skeletal Vrocks to span the area, searching for survivors to capture.

The party explored their surroundings. They found a squat basalt building that appeared promising. Examining it closer, they found it guarded by a potent trap. They disarmed it and proceeded. The door closed behind them, and Ronja swiftly realized the entire area was warded by Halaster's Teleport Cage.

They warily approached the room before them. It appeared to be quite ornate, full of statues of dragon-men and chromatic dragons. Jinx anecdotally mentioned how there appears to be ancient ties to Tiamat here, although the room has been clearly repurposed.

At the center of the room there lied a ritual area. It was surrounded with a brass ring with an ancient prayer to Myrkul written on it. In the center, there lied a burnt-out phylactery. The party decided to examine it more closely.

Upon closer examination, a quartet of mummies emerged from the remains surrounding the ritual altar and uttered a command phrase. The dragon statues in each quadrant of the room sprang to life - much more clearly brass golems now.

Combat commenced. During the combat, Vix dominated one of the mummies. The party emerged victorious.

Upon questioning, the mummy revealed the command phrase cannot be unsaid. Furthermore, he appeared afraid, and clarified this ritual was indeed used by Vaaren-Uul to ascend to demilichhood. He went on to say an advanced dragonbone golem resides at the bottom of the well, it does not have wings, but was in the process of getting wings. Devotees of Vaaren Uul, Vane, and Ragnorra are on the other levels. They are trapped here as well, now that the trap has sprung. This dungeon works like a spiral staircase, going down. The golem is stuck at the bottom, for now.

Armed with this knowledge and after looting the chamber, the party resolved to push on, bereft of other obvious options.
