- Schrödinger, the Magnetic Demi-Human
- Base Stats:
- HP: 431 (+82)
- Mana: 250 (+60)
- Movespeed: 340
- AD: 46 (+3)
- HP/5: 5.5 (+0.45)
- MP/5: 3.7088 (+0.6022)
- Attack Speed: 0.668 (1%)
- Armor: 19 (+2.5)
- Magic Resist: 30 (+1.25)
- Range: 175
- Passive: Polarity
- Converts 30% of bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power into Attack Speed (gains 1% AS per 2 AD and/or 2 AP) and 50% of bonus Attack Speed into AD and AP (gains 1 AD and AP per 2% AS). These bonuses do not stack with each other, and stats gained from leveling up are not affected by the bonus. Works on runes and masteries.
- Additionally, Schrödinger's autoattacks alternate between physical and magical damage.
- Q: Magnetic Resonance
- Schrödinger attacks the enemy with a wave slash. Deals 60/110/160/210/260 mixed damage (40% damage to minions), with the physical and magic damage components scaling at (+0.5 total AD) and (+0.5 AP) respectively. If this ability hits an enemy champion or jungle monster, they are inflicted with a debuff called Polarity Shift for 4 seconds. If the enemy is then hit with another ability while Polarity Shift is in effect, the debuff is consumed and the ability gains additional effects.
- Polarity Shift: The cooldowns of all non-ultimate skills are reduced by 2 seconds, and the enemy gains another stack of Polarity Shift.
- Range: 700
- Width: 300
- Cooldown: 7 seconds
- Cost: 30 mana
- W: EM Wave Grenade
- Schrödinger throws a grenade that explodes in a 200 radius for 70/120/170/220/270 (+0.8 AP) magic damage, then spreads out into EM waves that cover a 600 AoE, dealing 20/30/40/50/60 (+0.2 AP) per second for 3 seconds.
- Polarity Shift: Explosion deals 50% bonus damage, and the EM waves apply Polarity Shift to all enemy units.
- Range: 800
- Cooldown: 15 seconds
- Cost: 80 mana
- E: Electromotive Force
- Schrödinger does a 325 range dash in any direction and slashes horizontally, dealing 20/50/80/110/140 (+0.4 total AD) physical damage. The cooldown on this skill is reduced by 0.5 per autoattack.
- Polarity Shift: Schrödinger slashes again, dealing 20/50/80/110/140 (+0.4 total AD) physical damage and reduces the cooldown of this ability to 50% of the current cooldown.
- Range: 325
- Width of slash: 325
- Cooldown: 10 seconds
- Cost: 40 mana
- R: Geomagnetic Field Erosion
- Schrödinger releases 4/6/8 energy pulses in a 400 AoE from itself that deal alternating physical and magical damage, dealing 80/100/120 (0.3 total AD) (0.4 AP) per pulse.
- Polarity Shift: Pulses shred 5% of armor and magic resist per pulse for 3 seconds.
- Range: Self
- Cooldown: 160/135/110 seconds
- Cost: 100 mana
- Changelog:
- 9/26/2014: Created concept.
- 9/30/2014:
- -Added lore.
- -Added in Days 22, 24 and 26. Edited Day 20 and 27 slightly.
- Lore:
- Day 1
- Gained funding on new research, testing has begun on a new subject. Currently researching polarity and its effects on the human body, as well as ways to weaponize magnetic forces for use with hextech.
- Day 4
- Testing still underway. Our managerial head has invited Professor Stanwick for a consult on weaponizing magnetism. We have high hopes for what he could come up with, given his previous work in creating a fully sentient robot called Blitzcrank, and reviving a Noxian soldier.
- Day 6
- A bit of progress has been made. Prof. Stanwick has commissioned a team to work on a weapon that switches polarities every time it's used. As well, our team has observed that when the human body can harness both the north and south magnetic poles, they are more resistant to hextech weaponry. Has yet to see results with magic---a mage was brought in to cast destructive magic at a human subject, and the human subject was disintegrated. Fortunately, disintegration doesn't leave much of a mess, though there is an acrid smell that tends to linger for hours. Possibly related to blood type---human subject had A+ blood.
- Day 8
- No progress. Two human subjects died today, one from heart issues stemming from unnaturally high blood pressure, one from suicide influenced by intense paranoia of ticking crocodiles and rats with crossbows. Blood types were AB- and B+.
- Day 10
- Starting to see results against magic. A human subject showed promise today when he survived a round of testing against destructive magic. The research team has taken to calling this test subject Schrödinger, after one of the original founders of Zaun. Currently undergoing medical care for first degree burns on the chest area, expected to recover in roughly three hours. Blood type is O-. Prof. Stanwick informs us that we can expect results on the weapon in five days.
- Day 15
- Testing was temporarily postponed while Prof. Stanwick presented to us an high-frequency blade. Made of a certain kind of steel that appears to shimmer at the touch, the blade is capable of cutting through armor and the average human being's natural resistance to magic. If swung fast enough, one could theoretically decimate heavily armored soldiers and vehicles. Stanwick's team also says that this blade attracts protons and electrons as it moves around, and when swung hard enough, creates a wave that both attracts and repels substances in the human body as it passes through, causing an adverse reaction. The team has coined a term for it, called the Polarity Shift. They admit they may need to come up with something better for this phenomenon, but in the meantime, they are also working on an add-on that allows the blade to generate grenades as a secondary weapon.
- Day 17
- Some progress was made. Thanks to all the testing we have done, Schrödinger seems to have manifested a magnetic aura. This poses mild inconveniences for testing because he has a tendency to short out the heartbeat and EEG monitors, but he has gained the ability to convert physical strength and magical energy into dexterity, and vice versa. The team, however, is concerned about Schrödinger's mental status. Stanwick's team completed their add-on to the HF blade and are looking into possible improvements to the weapon.
- Day 20
- No progress. Schrödinger had a psychotic break and went berserk, attacking researchers. No one was seriously injured, but it took several tranquilizers and high physical restraint to calm him down. Currently in restraints that actively absorb Schrödinger's magnetic field, allowing us to monitor him in the meantime. Prof. Stanwick says he added a new function to the HF blade and wants to test Schrödinger's physical capabilities with the weapon next week. As much as I respect the man, I couldn't help but feel something was off. Instead of embellishing about how the 'new feature' improved the weapon, he was very matter-of-fact and told us it was going to be a pleasant surprise. I wonder if this might be a good idea.
- Day 22
- Schrödinger seems to have lost his sanity. The researchers tell me that he carries on conversations with various people who simply aren't there. So far, he has had conversations with a yordle blacksmith about a helmet, a young girl with a natural talent for fire magic about how she might survive on her own, and an old man with a limp and a six-eyed raven on his shoulder about a young woman who deserted after a war was concluded. He seems regretful of whatever happened in his past.
- Day 24
- More conversations. It's both fascinating and irritating to watch this subject talk to no one about nothing in particular. A notable exception was when a female researcher came into the holding room to draw some blood, and Schrödinger had said to her, "I'm sorry, Elene. There was a woman from nobility...she told me that I had to pay a price if I were to continue serving my country without being branded a traitor. I had to do it, I had to give Roland away to that snake. I had to give him away! Please, you have to understand!"
- Suffice to say, the researcher was rattled. There have been rumors that she has decided to permanently withdraw from the research lab. All I can think about is the live test in three days.
- Day 26
- Silence. Very odd from a person who has been chatty this past week. Could this be foreshadowing of something to happen? No matter, we'll see results tomorrow.
- Day 27
- Zaun's Hextechnical and Magical Research Committee will not be happy. Schrödinger was released today to test Stanwick's HF blade. However, Stanwick was nowhere to be seen. I had a bad feeling since last week, but I never imagined it would turn out like this.
- Schrödinger took the blade into his hands, and almost immediately, he started transforming. His clothes were shredded to pieces, his skin turned blue-green, his eyes lost all pretense of emotion, and electricity flowed into him, radiating off his skin. Most of all, his magnetic aura had intensfied, and we felt the effects adversely. Schrödinger then screamed a word, "ROLAND!!", and released a pulse of energy, blowing us off our feet and destroying the light sources in the lab, leaving Schrödinger as the only light in the place. The ones closest to him had lost a large chunk of skin and were already bleeding to death.
- Schrödinger then went on a rampage, and it was all we could do to survive. I saw many of my fellow researchers cut down in front of me, and I was the only one to survive. Something ugly sticks out in my mind that I can't forget---the way I secured my safety by ducking in a nearby panic room, locking out a close friend of mine, then triggering the self-destruct mechanism built into all of our labs in case of a hostile takeover, and watching the monster we had created decapitate my friend and try to destroy the bulletproof window. I thought I might die then and there, but the self-destruct triggered and the panic room went down through a secret tunnel. I watched the lab I had worked at for 5 years go up in flames through the transparent tunnel, only to see a blue spark of electricity through the mushroom cloud of thermite and debris.
- We've created a monster, and I simply don't know what to do.
