Why I disallow political discussions

One of my twitch chat and discord rules is that there is to be no discussion whatsoever about sensitive topics. One topic in particular that I've banned is politics. For those viewing this pastebin that are into politics in some capacity,you might be wondering why,exactly,that I've banned it,and why I'm not interested or participate in politics at all(currently). You also might wonder why that is because of the fact that politics is a very important part of keeping a country going. I've already given a brief explanation of why I disallow it in the chat rule that bans it,but I decided to go a bit more in-depth on that in this pastebin,so as to give a clear-cut explanation. The simple explanation is it's very hostile. In the current political climate,there is no middle ground as to what your viewpoint is. It's very black and white,meaning you can only pick one side or the other,with either side being very hostile towards the other. While I am pretty much over my fears of being judged by others for the most part,some of those fears still exist because I feel pressured to participate as the heated discussions usually involve something perceived as an imminent threat to the country and therefore very important no matter political participation,like a website  leaking users' information,the president doing something wrong that could er on the side of things potentially being very catastrophic,abortion,misgendering or other LGBT related social issues,so on and so forth. I hate having to pick sides and potentially say that someone is evil or an asshole,because that's just not me.
