King Darkstalker is a male, animus, thrice-moonborn NightWing - IceWing hybrid. His mother is Foeslayer, and his father was Prince Arctic. Darkstalker has been described as handsome and charming, with glittering black and silver scales, eyes as black as underground caverns, and long, twisting horns. On the inside of his midnight-black wings, there is a seam of white IceWing scales where the membrane meets his side, described by Clearsight to be as cold as IceWing scales, the sole indicator that he's part IceWing. Additionally, he has a silver teardrop-shaped scale next to each eye, showcasing his powers of mind reading.

Darkstalker is a very cunning, humorous, and highly intelligent dragon, partly from his powers and partly from his natural self. He can even be seen as being too smart for his own good. He sealed his animus powers into a scroll, so that he would be able to use them as much as he wanted, and still be sane. This was his own downfall, as it required him to manipulate the "new dragonets" into freeing himself from his tomb. Darkstalker is also shown to be slightly childish, as he uses the popular excuse "she started it" before his attempt to kill Queen Vigilance after she had sent an assassin after him.<p>

Also, when Darkstalker was talking to Moon in Moon Rising, she saw past his cunning voice and saw deep loneliness by reading his mind.<p>

However, in Escaping Peril it is revealed that he had tricked Moon about his whole character and personality when she realizes that he practically made his father his slave, and, unknowingly to Moon, made her believe that he was too dangerous to be released, leading to Peril accidentally freeing him by use of her fire scales. His use of words to make this process happen shows that he is very skilled in manipulating other dragons to do his bidding.

<br><b>Mind Reader:</b> Darkstalker's tear-shaped scales signify his status as a mindreader, as he was hatched under the full moon.
<br><b>Prophecy:</b> Darkstalker has mild abilities of futuresight and prophetic vision, due to being hatched under three full moons.
<br><b>Animus:</b> Animus dragons can enchant objects to do nearly anything. They can not bring back the dead, but there are few limits to animus magic.</br>

<br><b>Darkstalker's Talisman:</b> enchanted by Darkstalker to hold his animus magic inside. It grants the written wish of anyone who writes it.
<br><b>Dreamvisitors x3:</b> As their name suggests, dreamvisitors allow dragons to enter other dragons' dreams. However, the other dragon must be asleep, and if the other dragon wakes up, the user will be ejected from their dream.
<br><b>The Soul Reader:</b> An object enchanted by Darkstalker to represent how much of a dragon's soul is good and how much is evil using sand. White sand represents evil, for the IceWings, as described by Darkstalker, and good is represented by black sand, for the NightWings. It resembles a telescope with a small golden hourglass mounted on the side.
<br><b>The Obsidian Mirror:</b> "Enchant this mirror to spy on whichever dragon I choose".<p>
A tailband carved to look like dragon scales, enchanted by Darkstalker to kill whoever he touches with it when necessary.</br>
A branch, enchanted by Darkstalker to grow into an indestructible prison, with room for at least 10 dragons, that no one could ever break out of.</br>
Darkstalker enchanted himself to be immortal, invincible and later to be immune to all animus spells except his own and to be able to sense animus magic.

 freezing cold from a lack of winter clothes. Out of kindness, he gave her an enchanted scarf to keep warm and in some ways, she began reminding him of his sister Whiteout. He took her in and gave her an animus-touched bracelet so she could live as a NightWing, and cares for her as his own. He's now convinced she would be a bit safer this way and he could teach her how to hunt, fly, and fight as he knows how.</p><br><br>
