And so he waded deeper into that study. He was already working out a design for a machine to remove the soul. He didn’t exactly understand how he would manage to store it, as the soul was the source of all mana. He thought of it as a kind of mass mana extraction, but instead of taking it piece by piece, he was taking it whole. Hook line and sinker.

He was studying how mana flowed from the soul. If he could force a kind of logging and force extraction at a defined point, then he could remove the soul from it. He thought of a design, from what data he had already gathered, but he needed to study and charge the runes that it hanged on anyways. But the gist idea was this.

It would be forced to be sort of Iron Maiden like device. Runes covering every inch of it. Once it was closed, the maiden’s daggers would stab into the main mana circuitry, with the main piercing centrally, but shallowly, then when the device was charged and activated, it would remove the soul. For this to work there would need to be receptors, runes carved into the subject that the others would tap into and interact with.

It was time that he began to test and understand the runes needed to make this happen, that was the first step.
