  1. Karel "Uhhh... that's your name right? Nothing else...?" Oh btw Odo, wanna do the think with the wood swords?
  2.
  3. Odo She perked up before looking about. "Eh. Wouldn't mind."
  4.
  5. Karel "Let me see how they fight from where you come from then!" Karel said as she looked for a training blade.
  6.
  7. Odo She chuckled as she worked her way free from the blanketrito. "Well.. I don't quite fight like most people back home but sure."
  8.
  9. Karel "Then just how you do." Karel said as she made her way down to the arena, leaving her spellbook up by the stands. "Understandably, I might learn a thing or two from someone older and more experienced with fighting." She said with a smile as she waited for her older friend to come on down.
  10.
  11. Odo She left her sword on the blanket, stretching for a moment as she looked around for another wooden sword more her size. "Hm. Not often people your age think that way. Suppose it's the best way to learn~" She chimed out as she picked up a practice sword, giving it a quick wave before following after Karel.
  12.
  13. Karel Pointing her blade to Odo, the girl grinned. "Ready when you are." She said as she did a slight flourish. Granted, she was used to using her uncle's sword. Far better balanced than this wooden fascicle, but practice was practice. "So what are the rules? Do we just whack each other senseless? Or is it whomever hits the other person first that wins?"
  14.
  15. Odo She was holding her own sword in her left hand, waving it around as she tried to get used to the light weight. "Hm? Well that's no fun. Feel like we'd have a rather short fight. We both know how to yield, yes?" She pointed the sword back at her. "Just nice practice. You don't stop practicing after one smack, do you? I'll uh.. avoid your head."
  16.
  17. Karel "Okay. I guess same goes for you." Karel said. "Aleria won't love you as much if you got bruised and disfigured." She said, sticking out her tongue teasingly before she bent her knees and approached her foe. With a step forward, she gave a swing right for Odo's waist.
  18.
  19. Odo She rolled her eyes with that, leaning her head back a bit. "She'd love me plenty. I'm just saying that cause I happen to wear a helmet~" Odo watched curiously, wanting to learn how she fought. She raised her sword, keeping the tip pointed right for the ground as Karel swung to block it.
  20.
  21. Karel Feeling her opponent block the blow, Karel gave a chuckle. "Beat me up all you want. Maybe it'll stop the boys from trying to give me their cooties." She grinned as she grunted against Odo's parry. Trying again, she rolled herself to the side, this time swinging downward for one of the knight's feet.
  22.
  23. Odo She kept a close eye on the shorter knight, slowly nodding. "I doubt it. Seen some go for much worse than a lady with bruises." She'd lift her foot and attempt to stomp on the sword with her metal boot, pinning it to the floor if Karel wasn't fast enough to pull it back.
  24.
  25. Karel Pulling it back as she saw what Odo was trying, Karel gave a jump back. "Hehe, well I can knock down all the boys I know Let's see them TRY to kiss me!" A huff escaped her lips as she went for another swing at Odo's shoulder. She doubted it would hurt the knight, but that was part of the point with these wooden things wasn't it? It wasn't about who could get bruised more, it was about getting better, and gods knew she had to improve her technique eventually.
  26.
  27. Odo Odo snickered when she pulled back, grinning under the visor. "Well maybe if you don't want them to, just keep one of these on hand. Smack 'em and such." Odo raised her right hand to the handle of her sword, pointing it towards Karel as she lowered to let the wooden blade meet her pauldron, sliding forward to attempt to poke her stomach in return with the wooden sword.
  28.
  29. Karel A sharp gasp issued from her throat as the stomach tapped her on the plate. Jumping back, she nodded. In a real fight, how would have that worked out? Chances are, Odo would have a shoulder wound, which isn't... the worst thing to have in the word, and her? Well, a belly wound was more severe. Thinking to herself, she gave a nod, trying to drink in what Odo had just done before trying again, this time a stab for the heart area.
  30.
  31. Odo She chuckled when Karel hopped back, slowly moving after her. "How often do you fight armored opponents?" She asked as Karel moved forwards, raising her sword to try and meet the tip of Karel's to smack it away.
  32.
  33. Karel "Umm, not actually as often as you'd think. Thinking back on it, Alex didn't wear armor. Tarf was... basically fighting in his underwear. Umm..." She paused and thought for a bit as her blade was smacked aside, her reaction being to immediately bring it down again in a downwards slash. "Uhhh... not a lot really. I am more used to being the armored on in my fights."
  34.
  35. Odo Odo let out a slight yelp, leaning back when Karel swung down. "Ah I see. Well where i come from, what i'm wearing now is seen as rather light. Just wondering if you know how to properly fight someone in this sort of thing." She spoke as she lined up another poke, aimed for Karel's left thigh before lunging forwards.
  36.
  37. Karel Utilizing her short stature to her own advantage, Karel planted her other foot down and twisted her body just a bit, letting the blade pass by her before retaliating with a quick thrust forward at her opponent's chest area again. "Most of my opponents are goblins. They tend to be easy pickings. There's also the occasional group of thugs however or a hag that needs killing. Beyond that, nope. Not too many armored foes!" She said.
  38.
  39. Odo Odo laughed as Karel dodged, surprised by her speed. Until her laugh was cut off with a grunt when her chest was jabbed. Odo leaned back, raising her right hand to idly rub at where she was smacked. "J-Jeez.." She looked Karel over, slowly nodding. "To fight against an armored opponent well. You really need to understand their armor. For instance." Odo began to shimmy her shoulders, showing off the metal plating. "You wouldn't get very far aiming for these on me."
  40.
  41. [Missing Post]
  42.
  43. Odo She raised her right leg, right into the sword to show off her metal plating covering her legs. "Not always. You have the right idea though. You want to aim for the inside of joints." Odo flipped her sword to hold it by the blade before swinging the guard past Karel, giving a yank as she tried to hit the back of her knee with the guard.
  44.
  45. Karel A quick 'yowch' escaped from the girl's lips as she stumbled a bit, having felt the weight of the blow. Having not accomplished much that time around, she saw what Odo did. "Wait... what... did you just... hold up a minute... DID YOU JUST GRAB IT BY THE SHARP END?!"
  46.
  47. Odo Odo chuckled and waved the sword about, holding it by the blade. "Oh dear. I really need to show you some tricks~" She chimed as she moved her right hand to the blade too. "This is another way to fight someone in armor." Odo looked over Karel for a moment, settling her eyes on her right side. "You see the longsword I use can double as a hammer." She murmured before taking a swing, aiming the guard for Karel's side just below her ribs.
  48.
  49. Karel Karel say this one coming. Just because she was surprised didn't mean she was going to stand there and take it. Immediately, she tried something a bit expected herself as she tried to reach out and grab the handle!
  50.
  51. Odo Odo perked up when the handle was caught, letting out a soft laugh. "Y'know.. That's actually a first.." Odo braced before giving a hard tug, attempting to drag Karel closer as she stuck out her left leg to kick the small knight's shin.
  52.
  53. Karel Karel gave a tug of her own, grunting a bit as she was forced to relinquish her hold on Odo's sword. "Can't picture you trying to do that with the real thing if I am being honest!" She said as she retrieved her own blade on the ground and swung against the other knight's wrist.
  54.
  55. Odo She let go with the hand Karel was swinging for, keeping her other hand on the sword. "Ah~ See! Keep swinging like that and you'll do better." Odo adjusted her grip, holding it normally again. "Well usually i'm swinging harder and faster. Can break through tough armor and can even break what's under." She took a hard swing from below, swinging up and aiming for Karel's sword, trying to get the small knight used to blocking a hard swing from someone who can hit fairly hard.
  56.
  57. Karel The clack of wood echoed through the arena as she stood her ground. "Yeah, I can see that. I usually tend to be quick too. I know I am stronger than you'd expect, but there are some pretty big brutes around here." Grunting against the weight of Odo's blade, she tried to force the knight back with her own sheer strength.
