  3. Rolling over in the bed Jakkan sat up a lump under the blankets moving about in circles till he found the end of them and fell off the bed finding Cricket quickly and chittering then running back to the bed in time for Nordi to do the same well she woke up and sat up wondering how long had she been out? An arm reaching out for the clock on the bed side table without the glass to tell her the time the hell was it? still groggy and sore she must have been all over that bed... bed.. that bed that wasnt hers! A moment of panic then the fuzzy memory of being over at Crickets place. Flopping back in the pillows it smelled like her a grin on her face. "Marco" half expecting to hear Polo come from somewhere nearby. She had been so busy getting everything ready she hadnt slept for nearly two days. Being blind you lose track of time so easy she hadnt really noticed till her body decided enough was enough and she passed out beside Cri. "Shit!" she had something planned for Cricket for tonight!

  6. The constant barrage of talk of Christmas cooking and ads for food and cooking products had Cricket yearning to be productive today so when Jakkan tottered into the kitchen, that was where she was, cooking a rack of snickerdoodle cookies that she was helping herself too. Too bad Jakkan couldn't eat or she would have shared one with him! As it was, after petting him, and still shoveling a cookie (delicately!) into her mouth, she followed him to the bedroom where Nordis was getting up. She could hear her friend mumbling a word she missed, just as well since she wasn't familiar with Marco Polo either as a person or a game. "Hi," she said softly with a small smile, quickly licking the crumbs away before moving to the side of the bed. "Are you hungry?" she sat down on the side of the bed. There was the slight tinge of rose-magic scent to her, as she'd been using it; but also, increasingly, there was a sickly sweet tint to her scent, as if the flowers were rotting.

  9. She had already planned it out there was a table with two chairs sitting very near the river a mile from the store with a tarp over it to keep it from getting wet. The place she had picked out was surrounded by a wall of trees so there was no wind with a fire going they would be warm as well. And when they were ready the fire could be dashed and the real show could start. A box with everything she needed inside tablecloth, candles, dishes, flat ware everything but the food the food she had already arranged with blondie to be picked up so it would be hot and fresh leaving her all the time she needed to get dressed and over to pick up cricket. Had Cri even seen the envelope or the package that she hadnt got to open? All this and more ran through her head if she gave Cricket the package told her to open it and then met her at the General Store she would have just enough time to go to the diner pick up the meal get to the store change and set everything up. No that wouldn't work maybe if she told Cricket to open the package and she left calling Blondie having Blondie deliver it to the store would that work? Everything was flashing through her mind at Breakneck speed how is she going to do this how could she slept so long she felt horrible her body was still so tired as if a lead weight of thoughts blanketed her body. Hearing Cricket enter the room she froze as if Cri might hear the shouting match she was having with herself and not Holly even. "Haya Cri-" the scent made her words catch grimacing she had kept her eyes closed all this time just in case. Looking to Crickets light despite her closed eyes the taint was obvious she couldnt help herself she pulled Cricket close in a big hug and held onto her. when she had calmed down the fingers that had started to stroke through her hair moving to her lower back as she leaned into her one and only. "Ravenous but I have a surprise for you! I should have given it to you last night but I didnt plan on passing out. Before I do how are you feeling?" She would keep holding her close she could tell if Cricket was trying to hide something and the scent though strong to her was easier to hide like this.
  10. sorry!)

  13. Although Cricket wasn't quite in on the state of disorder going through Nordis' mind, she could see that she still looked very tired. It was a little concerning, was she depressed? Magnus had explained to her a little about that because she had been sleeping more than usual as well. She snuggled up in bed beside Nordis although careful not to let herself grow sleepy again too, otherwise they might both just end up sleeping the rest of the evening. It was already tempting enough as she laid her head against Nordis' shoulder and looked up at her. She did perk up a bit hearing that Nordis was ravenous, but paused. "A surprise?" she said softly, curiously, and closed her eyes for a moment. The truth was that although Cricket wouldn't dare to use her magick on a living being anymore because it might harm or kill them, depending, she could still use it on items and she was discovering that it was soothing in a way. With her power all built up, so was that awful curse, and when she used her magick it was also seeping a little of the curse at. Much like working a sickness out of a body... except this one would just build back up with her magick. "I'm okay..." she said, opening her eyes again, and it was an honest answer. She wasn't the best, she never really was anymore, but she had a fairly productive day and had worked some of the curse out in the course of creating something - and she had Nordi with her. So she was as okay as she felt she could be right now.

  16. Jakkan jumping up and down beside the bed giving up and laying there waiting for them "Well if you would be so amazingly lovely as to hand me my glasses" not sure where they were once she had them she would look at Cricket as if looking at a gem nodding her head alot and going Mhm alot. "Ok I think you can handle this, so let me grab this" now her glasses were on she saw the package was still on the bedside table leaning over almost out of the bed to get it so Cri didnt have to move, she liked being close to her like this. Putting the package in her lap and looking at Cricket "This is for you but before you open it you have to read the card but even before that I have to go. But before all that I need two things. 1. what time is it? and 2. are you ready now?" depending on teh answers to these she would be able to get a move on. She was so excited she wasnt sleepy at all now. shivering with anticipation at teh thought of this evening. This was several weeks int eh planning and dreaming of it since day one of their kiss.

  19. Cricket stretched out her arm to find the glasses on her bedside table and once she had them in hand, being careful not to smudge the lenses, she opened them and slid them onto Nordis' face with a quiet giggle. She sat up a little bit and helped Nordis do the same since she seemed to be indicating she was awake enough to move around a bit. Thank goodness; she had really been worried they'd fall asleep together like that. And Nordis was ravenous, in her words, so that wouldn't do at all. She hadn't noticed the package much at all, really, she had noticed the foreign object in her room but just assumed it was things Nordis might need. So when Nordis gave her a torrent of information that seemed to be related to the package, her eyes went wide and round. "Um... um... it's a little after s-six," she said, addressing that question first, and wiggled with anxious excitement. "Ready for what! Where are you going?" And the package, what was it? Nordis seemed awfully excited about it and it was making Cricket crazy with curiosity, especially if she had to leave. What was going on?

  22. Six good not as late as she feared, it was seven she was aiming for. "Good good" she was half expecting Cricket to say she was ready but she looked more frazzled then anything. "Its a good thing I swear!" buzzing with excitement she took hold of Cri's cheeks in each hand and kissed her sweetly then put her forehead to Cri's a flash of starlight dancing above them both and the smell of food pulling away as if to say a sample of things to come if Cricket understood it. Getting up from teh bed grabbing her coat "Jakkan will lead you to me Ill see you very soon" she smiled still excited then headed for the bedroom door. "Take your time theres no rush" runs back over and kisses her again this time a quick one and she was gone. Nearly running to the elevator then out to the street mobile out Blondie on the other end "Yeah its me can you have it sent tot he store? Im on my way there now got side tracked.. and what a track it was" she was giddy with joy at this evening and what it promised to bring. As she got to the road Holly took over getting them there so Nordi could focus on the things that needed to be done still. By this time Cri should have gotten over the shock of it all and read the letter with the package. My dearest, enclosed you will find something I know will fit and I hope you will don and join me wearing. Let Jakkan leed the way to a night I promise you will never forget. And one we both have earned. -Yours in all ways Nordis Blondie had agreed to have the food ready and at the store by seven sharp Lumi was in the window of the flat with a smile 'Hurry up its here on the back of the bathroom door' 6:15 the Sorry were Closed hanging on the door. She would help Nordi get dressed and set up the table so it was ready and waitign for Cri. Who knew another hidden talent of Lumi's would be heair and makup? Thank the gods! Pulling off the wrapper from the dress and then the hanger bra in place slipping into the dress "Time?" '6:29 calm down youve got time.' Stockings on and shoes almost there as Lumi went about what ever she was doing to Nordi's face and hair "Time?" she called out 'its 6:37 relax or you wont enjoy this' "Im too nervous to enjoy it yet!" she was dam near vibrating she was covered in a, bright red almost rash looking, splotchy nerve heat rash type thing. Lumi was able to hide it with concealer and foundation. 'you look a sight, calm down' "It will be dark she wont see it anyway whats the time?" 'Im done lets go get the table ready' down stairs a young guy had a big box with food in it waiting on the steps. Nordi grabbed it and tossed cash at him as she took off into the woods. Lumi came behind him and took back the roll of money and counted it out to him as well as a tip. 'its her first date cant you tell?' shakes her head following after Nordi to help set up

  25. The assurance that it was a good thing did ease Cricket's mind a little, and the witchling calmed her wiggles once Nordis took hold her face. She didn't miss the kiss for the small vision she gave her, awed by them both. "Um. O-okay-" she was musing about how she wasn't going to get any more answers and would have to wait when Nordis towered above her once more for another kiss that left her breathless, even if it was quick. Once her room was quiet and she heard the apartment's front door shut rather crisply since Nordis was in a hurry, she wiggled again and plucked the card from the top of the package. She read over the sweet letter with excitement and curiosity mounting, and then plucked the package open to reveal the item Nordis had talked of her donning. i.imgur.com (hover) It was beautiful and soft and warm and it would go excellently with the scarf i.imgur.com/hNlTTqI.jpg Magnus had given her. Nordis had said there was no rush, which was good, because she was so distracted that Cricket might not have been able to rush without looking frightful for her excitement. As it was she took some time to clean up and do her hair nicely gurl.com (hover) (cloth flowers, of course), and put on some cosmetics. Finally when she was ready, she stuffed one more cookie into her mouth (for energy). "Okay, Jakkan, we can go!" She wrapped herself in a cloak and followed the doll out, bidding Konstent a quick goodbye on her way out. The way was dark so she used some energy to create a ball of peach-pink glowing light to guide her and Jakkan's way, a glance to the sky given every now and then as she followed him through the town and then the forest as she listened for sounds of Nordis, or anyone else.

  28. Dress on and being ever so careful about getting the over cloak she was wearing so to keep teh dress clean (i.imgur.com (hover) ) She had everything finished everything was ready and set to go the fire was blazing the relaxing sounds of cracking and poping coming from it it was the last of the tree she had fell earlyer in the week. They would put the Yule log on together later. Lumi just finished putting the napkins and flatware on the table when Nordi asked her for the time yet again a soft breeze blew and with it brought the scent of cricket the look on her face was all Lumi needed to know that it was her time to exit the scene. Jakkan was doing his part leading Cricket to the spot stopping once to jump on a big pillow like tufft of moss out of it though came a swarm of fireflyies to swirl around and stay dancing about the towering thees that made up the wall. On the other side of this wall smoothing her dress under the cloak she stood beside the fire and tree line when Cricket got close enough to see the fire behind the tree line she would step out. "Hello my dearest and welcome to our date." she did a big flourish taking off the cloak to show her own dress the leggins and fur boots compleating the look when Cricket moved around the fire though it was Nordi who was speechless. Seeing the princess before her left her dumfounded and utterly speechless.

  31. The scent of a bonfire seemed to grow stronger as Jakkan led Cricket on by the light of her little magic ball, lending to the sense of deep fall/early winter that stirred a particular, almost indescribable sensation in most. Her eyes had wandered into the woods as Jakkan had jumped into the moss tuft; she was doing her best not to touch any of the wildlife here but Jakkan seemed to be leading her well and the swirl of tiny lit bugs surprised her. She gasped and giggled as they formed a quick light to see their destination and she hurried closer. "Come on, Jakkan," she cooed, and was careful not to get too far ahead of him so he wasn't in danger of being left behind and/or hurt by whatever dangers the forest at this time of night and year might have to offer. While her arrival couldn't have come soon enough it did come fairly soon as the witchling wound her way carefully through the trees with big eyes and quickly smoothed her hair and dress when she heard Nordis moving around. Her eyes trailed the scene set up, with Lumi's help (and, indirectly, Blondie) until they reached Nordis in her matching dress and a big smile spread across her face unhindered. She looked like a work of art with her colorful hair meeting the pastel of her dress. After a moment of stunned admiration, still smiling and with a soft pink rising to her face, she moved over to Nordis. A delicate hand found the fur lining of the other girl's dress and ran carefully along it before lowering to her side again. "This is the surprise?" she said, her voice soft and blending with the crackling of the fire. She was referring to the whole set up, but her eyes were locked onto Nordis herself.

  34. Still dumbfounded and completely speechless seeing the way Cricket had dolled herself up. Behind them on the table Cricket might notice the large silver platters with lids, the smell of roasted meats and vegetables still able to waft out from beneath the lids curtasy of Blondie and the diner. The fire they stood beside was very aromatic she had thrown herbs into the fire to ward away anything that might come nosing about. Confidant in her briars to handle most anything these woods could throw at them though. When she finally found her voice after Cricket asked if this was the surprise she just grinned "Dinner and a show I think that sounds like a good enough surprise for the first time don't you?" Holding Cri close to her as the delicate hand ran along the fur trim of Nordi's dress. She wasnt confident enough in her voice to sing just yet and that was killing her but this was good. "Shall we dine?" Holding her arm out to Cricket a smile plastered to her lips she was so happy right now this couldnt go any better then it already was. Jakkan huddled down near the fire to keep an eye on things and alert them should anything rear its ugly head and try to ruin the evening. She would walk Cricket over to the table pull out her chair push it in once she was seated and lift the lid over the plate with a flourish. "Madam your dinner" there was juice and teas water too of course in sparkling wine glasses sitting down to her own plate they would eat a jiggly cheesecake like in Japan for dessert (i.imgur.com (hover) ) Everything looked so good it was all Nordi could do to eat slowly.

  37. Even without the fire or the warmth of their winter clothes, Cricket felt like she would have been plenty warm cuddled up to Nordis. She beamed a smile up to her, feeling a bit foolish at the way her heart wouldn't stop fluttering, and was only able to pry her eyes away from her when her attention was redirected to the rest of the setup. Which was lovely, but not quite as lovely as Nordi. Still, as she bit her lip and turned to look more closely at the set up of their little area for the night, it was the perfect little scene for them. Private and tucked away, but natural and relaxed and beautiful and mixing elements that reflected both of them, as well as the two of them together. "It's beautiful, Nordi," she whispered, her voice just a bit dreamy. Beyond the aesthetic, she could easily see the work that had gone into the set-up and Nordis' excitable behavior earlier fell into place and made complete sense. She giggled and took Nordis' arm, nodding. "Yes!" Judging by her smile and posture, she might burst if she was any more pleased. Sitting in her seat, she gently and playfully allowed her ankle to nudge against Nordis' as she moved past her after helping her to the table. The smell of the food hit her as Nordis unveiled her and her mouth watered before she could even see what each dish was. No wonder Nordis didn't want to eat yet before. Her eyes glittered happily as she looked up at Nordis. She'd set all this up, and helped her to the table, she would let Nordis get her plate settled first. It was only fair. She wiggled her shoulders, still unable to contain the smile. "It's amazing, Nordi."

  40. Hearing the way that Cricket whisper her name and that dreamy voice made her Feliz if her heart was going to jump into her throat almost on impulse she sort of wished one of the Briars would stabber just the one time to make sure she wasn't dreaming all of this although if it was a prophetic dream she'd already know that all of this would go really well. She knew how she felt about Cricket she knew the word people used to call it by and while she had used words of endearment around cri she had never really come out and said it. A part of her wanted to kick herself for not having gone on a date sooner. Everything Blondie had made for the dinner was amazing and it wasn't just pure hunger that was saying these things it was true cricket was very impressed as well and she didn't know where the food come from. As they both tucked into their fine meals she couldn't help but notice her eyes kept going back to cricket smell watching her eat she is so dainty it is cute she was constantly finding new things that she adored about the woman sitting across from her it may seem hokey but there is nothing Cricket could do that could upset her or make her think less of this amazing woman. The way she took it all in stride how she always tried to make everyone around her feel better despite however she may be feeling herself part of Nordi envied that ability. Well she always tried to make sure that Lindsay didn't worry about her she wasn't very good at convincing others this was all probably because everybody else could see and he couldn't. Even with the fire the added oils and herbs that had been put beneath the mass that now was ablaze and the food that sat in front of them that's scent that horrible scent the taint that was slowly growing inside her beloved cricket. A crow had an amazing sense of smell, unfortunately, she had inherited this from her mother and the scent was so strong already it made her heartbreak. Pushing such things down and away as far away from her thoughts as possible even going so far as to give them to Holly to lock away she would let nothing ruin this night. "This is the dinner the show has yet to start we've still sometime yet" Looking up there was still a bit to go before the moon was ready above them.

  43. The food was indeed warm and rich and filling, as diner food should be, but even more delicious. It offset the cold around them outside their area wonderfully, and Cricket almost felt like after all this was over, she could comfortably hibernate. As opposed to those restless depression naps she'd been wont to fall into lately. But it also tasted much better than usual now, in the context of this company. It's been said, better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. That was absolutely, 100% true, and Cricket would know that as well as anyone. But how lucky was she now that she had her peace and feasting? She kicked her legs happily at the thought. Sometimes you really could have your cake and eat it too, it seemed. While the other shoe could drop at any time, for all the bad she'd experienced, Cricket didn't expect it. She kept as cheerful as she knew how to be. And while she was well aware of the necrotic scent her magick was taking on, luckily for her, she didn't have to deal with it at all hours just by being around herself. It was only apparent when she used her magick. As she ate her food she was mostly quiet. Quiet was what she was used to, and it was in her nature. Nordis was good about mostly providing the speech between them. Anyone who wasn't patient with her mousiness was only going to stress Cricket out, long term, but with Nordis, she didn't feel like she had to change herself or stretch for thoughts and speech she simply didn't have. Her eyes kept going back to Nordis as well and she looked up at the sky when Nordis did. The stars did twinkle beautifully, already, and had been for a few hours. Between Nordis, the sky, and their little area, Cricket felt like she had a lot of pretty things to feast her eyes on. "I see the big dipper," she said softly, pointing up at the sky. "That one's always there. I like it. A lot of things change, but the big dipper is always there as long as the sky is."

  46. Well it was true she was a bit of a mousy young lady the way Cricket to be quiet and yet endearing at the same time was something she has found herself growing more fond of since the very first time they met. Dinner almost at an end she caught Cricket looking up when she did a few times she'd look up just so Cricket would look up and she could watch cricket it was silly almost childish but she can't help it and when Cri chimed in about the Big Dipper and how it was always a constant she wondered if the Big Dipper was visible from her home world wherever crickets homeworld might be. The thought that maybe one day Cricket would vanish back to this place and never see her again was terrifying she never thought about what would happen if the curse finally did what it was meant to do and take Cricket away. She never even considered it a possibility with Magnus and Lindsay, Tessa and everyone else that she knew working on this there had to be an answer something something so fairy tale like it would make them all say the hell didnt i think of that? The less she was around others, other lights, other beings especially powerful ones the fewer headaches and migraines she had. With fewer of them her natural vision returned granted it was not the greatest vision to begin with but it was more than anyone else she could say who is actually blind whatever get she sometimes wishes she could share such things with Lindsay. For all she was she wanted nothing more then to be left alone by the rest of the world and stay here lost in fenster falls with her new life the friends she had made and the ones who were now more then just friends like Lin and Cricket were. With the limited vision she had she could appreciate the looks Cricket gave her in return "Ive been told i have the big dipper on my lower back in freckles and the little on my arm but I could never see it being blind tends to do that to you though." grinning a cheeky grin her foot rubbing Crickets under the table.

  49. Cricket would be lying if she said that whether or not the big dipper was visible from wherever she came from had never come to her mind. She'd thought of it, but never in a good way. There was a reason she was here and not there, right? And it seemed that reason was someone's hatred. Someone who must have hated her before she was even old enough to know what she was doing or form lasting memories of a place she'd been ripped from. That was a lot of hatred for someone as sensitive as she was to deal with, especially considering the manifestation of that hatred, set into motion on her recent birthday. She kept her thoughts to the big dipper of this world, which she could see now, and was distracted for a few moments from dinner as she watched it twinkle. And then, feeling Nordis' foot against hers, she looked down again and locked eyes with Nordis, for a moment surprised and then blushing faintly and smiling in response to the grin and nudging her foot in return. She took her last few bites of food and the plate was finished so she held out her hands for Nordis' arm. "Let me see!" she insisted. "I'll tell you!"

  52. Making sure all of the dishes were out of the way so they didn't get their arms or hands in them, Cricket took up Nordis' arm in hers as soon as it was presented, with a big smile, and glanced up at the sky to compare what was there to what was on her arm. With Nordis' pale skin, it was easy. "Uh-huh! You do," she said, seeming to be pleased at what she had found, and gently patted the area before releasing Nordis' arm and moving to gently nudge her with a shoulder, letting her keep a hold on her elbow. That is, until Nordis expressed a need for help snugging the fire. "Okay," she agreed cheerfully and pulled away so she could stand and join Nordis there. Cricket had started and put out many, many, many controlled fires in her short life. It was simply part of survival for her. So she accomplished this quickly and easily with Nordis. Of course, that removed a good deal of the heat, but it would be easier to disspell her magic light ball when it came time than it was to start and put out a fire. She'd put that out too at Nordis' command.
  53.

  55. When all was said and done and cricket was ready to help her put out the fire she noticed how good Cri was at it and then notice that she was using her own magic to make the small ball of light. Reaching over she ruffled Crickets hair "that's enough of that I needed it dark for a reason silly" a blanket not far from the embers of the fire that they had just put out holding onto Crickets hand Nordis sat down and then patted the area between her legs "come sit down with me I'm going to show you something" if and when Cricket did and she most certainly would Nordis would lean back on the log that she had cut it was going to be there Yule Log, in fact it's what they would use to restart the fire soon. Putting her arms around crickets waist so that she would recline back atop her own chest covering them both with the other part of the blanket. She told Cricket to look up at the stars and tell her what she saw "I know you see the Dipper and the Stars. But they are stagnant they just sit there unmoving. For the longest time I could never see them not the way that people like you do" touching Crickets nose as she spoke "Unless it was alive I couldn't see it but the more I stay away from people the less I have to deal with those headaches. I found out that alone I have both sights, with both of my sights I can see the stars. And its the second most amazing thing I've ever seen" Lifting her hands up and placing them on Cricket's temples "look into the heavens look up there and see it the way I see it Bright. Beautiful. Alive" At first Cricket would see the shooting star (i.gifer.com (hover) ) then slowly the stars moved as if blinking at her (barbozaspacecenter.com (hover) ) then they seemed to be moving Nordis was pushing her sight to go past what was there on teh surface what the human eye could perceive this part could only last a moment before Nordis dropped her hands breathing hard (media.giphy.com (hover) ). hugging Cricket from behind. She had burned up alot of light of her own to do that but it was well worth it. Huddled up like this they would stay warm.

  58. The ball of light was already made from when she used it to guide her and Jakkan into the dark woods, but once things were ready she disspelled it, a trick she had learned from Magnus. (Before she had had to let them just dwindle on their own.) Then she followed Nordis, mostly going by feel because it was quite dark and unlike Nordis she wasn't used to going blind. But she could make out the gesture and shyly scooted into place, happy to sap the warmth from Nordis. She was right, the sky was more clear with it dark like this. Her hands rested gently on Nordis' arms and curled against her and the blanket as she kept her gaze upwards at the sky, observing what she could already see and listening to Nordis. She wiggled her nose when it was touched and smiled, she already knew some of what Nordis was saying, but she was setting the stage for something. Her magick mixing into Cricket's was felt at a more intense level like this, more than when she would touch Cricket's mind with words or even pictures, and it warmed the witchling to the core. She did make a conscious effort to keep her magick from invading Nordis', however, just to be safe. When she blinked, everything refocused. Refocused differently. She had seen many shooting stars but not as seemingly close or bright or vibrant as the one that crossed in front of them. Her mouth opened but no sound came out, she just breathed in the cold air around them. The way the ones left behind twinkled and trailed and sparkled and glittered in a way she couldn't see with her mere human sight was... moving. Cricket was filled with emotion, which took the form of tears that hung on her eyelashes like dewdrops on petals, and then fell as she blinked, a few more finally streaming down her cheeks as she choked back a sob. There was a lot of feeling that came from staring into a seemingly neverending night that appeared so full of life and she turned her head in such a way that she could rest her head on Nordis' collarbone while still able to stare in her more normal way into the night. "That's what you see?" she whispered in awe, one of the tears trailing her jaw until it fell to Nordis' shoulder. "Are you okay?"

  61. When cricket was finally comfortable she started to draw upon the light inside of herself it wasn't her own light she was burning up to show Cricket these wonders, it was the light of all of those her ancestors had consumed. In a way she was mass purging herself of all those noisy lights and voices inside her head so she didn't mind when she took Cricket past the living lights that she saw in the sky. What she was able to draw on from past dwindled realizing they were in danger they had shut themselves away and she had to draw on her own light. Connected to Cricket as she was the beauty wasnt lost on her so that when she pushed once more to show cricket how she was able to move through the stars even though she herself stood still it took a great deal more out of her than she had intended to expend. her hands dropping to Crickets lap with nothing more then embers to warm and light the night Nordis was able to hide in a way from the one who sat in her lap. This was very costly she would end up paying for this. By the time Cricket rested her head upon Nordi's shoulder she could feel the strain and her entire body trembled, Cricket might not felt it or if thought it was simply the cold that was causing her to shiver. She was trembling from having spent too much of her own energy so freely and so quickly by the time Cricket had asked her if this is how she always saw the sky Nordis could hardly form deep breath let alone words to answer her, nearly at the point of passing out she cut it off trying to recover herself in the dark. She didn't want cricket to become worried or upset the briars wrapped around them both Jakkan sensing her draining light hurried over to them curling up and Crickets lap. Feeling the hot tear touch her skin it was only then she realized the Cricket had been weeping what she wished to say but wasn't able to was that she wished to give Cricket a gift should never forget. Instead, she's made her cry. This thought made nordis begin to weep as well for the wrong reasons but they sat there in the dark huddled together weeping. Till Nordi began to shake with laughter at her own stupidity and at Holly who was now mentally the size of a toddler who was attempting to scold her. Her voice began as mental but once her breath was steady enough she let her own voice ring out echoing off the trees and the cold air about them (https://youtu.be/B9vzR1dVjlM)

  64. Tears were not bad things. Cricket was never raised to view them as such. Mother Elke had never ridiculed her ways of expressing and with so few words to do it, her feelings often emerged as tears. It was part of her naivete. She was unaware of the way most of the world viewed crying and blessedly unabashed by her own. In this case, they were good. Catharsis, an emotion many people experienced and were moved to tears by, especially when experiencing intimate art or nature that simply overwhelmed them. Easily overwhelmed as she was, what Nordis had shown her had washed over her like waves, but instead of the water drowning her, it just left her breathless and the waves roiled inside her and the saltwater came out of her eyes. Perhaps fortunately for Nordis, and perhaps not, she was oblivious entirely to Nordis' drain. She didn't touch people with her magick these days and tried to keep it away from them entirely because it might be dangerous and that went even more for someone she wanted to be close to her like Nordis. She accepted the tears of the other, as well, thinking they were similar to her own, but when she heard Nordis laugh, a little smile started to form on her lips through the tears and her glassy eyes sparkled as she let Jakkan join them in the blanket. The response to her question was a little surprising. Nordis never answered whether she was okay, but when she started to sing instead Cricket picked up her head to look up at her in surprise with a semi-dried trail of tears marking the skin of her cheeks. She was quiet for a few moment, breathing softly through her mouth as her shoulders lifted and fell softly, and then the tears started to come again. They welled up in her big dark eyes and left bigger trails of liquid that fell onto their beautiful dresses. Her slender arms wrapped around Nordis' waist and clasped behind her, letting the moment last until her voice trailed off. Her eyes were closed and her forehead pressed to the top of Nordis' shoulder. Now she could hear herself breathing in the cold air and Nordis doing the same and not much noise otherwise except for the forest outside their little area. "Your voice is so beautiful, Nordi..." she whispered, barely breaking the silence. "Like a good dream."

  67. Though the song was in her mothers tongue she did her best to make it so that Cricket could understand the words even in another tongue. That song should have broke her but it didnt she felt stronger in fact. Shed been holding back for fear of losing it but what she needed all along was Cricket to hear it as she wanted it to be heard. Listening to Cri breathing holding her close resting her head atop Cri's. "Lets get you warmed up" sitting up she moved forward off teh log and got to her feet helping cricket up, lifting the log under one arm and taking Crickets hand in the other the briars leading them to the embers Crickets eyes would have adjusted by now they would put the yule log on the fire and it would burst into flames thanks to a bit of essential oils and the only crystal Nordi had kept for herself, held aloft the words were soft as she pulled Cricket back behind her "As thy heart" the flames burst into a roaring fire pulling her close and holding her there bathed in the light of the bonfire. Humming softly the song she had sang a moment ago she swayed back and forth then slowly began to dance with Cricket letting Cri stand on her feet. Glasses shone brightly as they moved about in the firelight casting their dancing shadows up the tree wall spinning her slowly then dipping her low leaning over to kiss her "Sukidayo" the words fell from her lips eyes widen a moment then soften with a smile would Cri even know what it meant? She should she just sang it a few times but if she didnt she wouldnt press it. It was out there now she wanst ashamed or embarrassed as long as it was for cricket. "And for my final surprise, Ill have you in bed in less then an hour" smiling. She knew this was an exhausting but joyful date and she didn't want to wear Cricket out she would even call the Baku for them. The lights that werent burned away by her little sightseeing trip would be wanting words tonight.

  70. She sounded like she felt stronger. For that matter, Cricket felt stronger too. She stayed in that position, just smiling and letting her tears fall and draw until Nordis prompted her to move. At that point she gave a soft hiccup and allowed Nordis to stand and then followed suit, accepting the help to her feet from the taller girl. The tears came to and end in spite of the sticky saltwater around her eyes and Cricket was all sleepy smiles as she helped throw the log into the fire and resisted a shout of joy at the loud crackling and roaring flame that ensued. She laughed aloud instead, a sound that shook her tiny body and rang with the same earnest honesty that was in her tears. Not all emotions erupted as tears, after all. As the area began to warm up again, she pulled closer to Nordis and was pulled onto her feet with another laugh. The dips always took her off guard, but she just gasped and clung onto Nordis with a big smile and a blush at the kiss she returned. She couldn't understand the specific words spoken but she could understand the meaning and her eyes lit up in response, the fluttering in hear heart prompting her to draw closer and lean up to press a tiny, sweet kiss to Nordis' lower lip. But she had a surprise too, of sorts. "Let's sleep in my treehouse tonight!" she urged Nordis. "I'll keep us warm with another magic ball!" It wasn't too far away from where they were. And luckily her curse wasn't affecting the tree that held up the house yet. If Nordis agreed she led her to an area rife with magick and an adorable treehouse created by a friend of hers, fitting for a forest princess. i.imgur.com (hover) i.imgur.com (hover) She'd lead Nordis up the ladder for bed and create a ball of energy to hang in the air above them, glowing peach light over them and warming the area, but not so much that they couldn't snuggle up.

  73. She allowed herself to be led off for once instead of leading, all smiles. Cricket seemed so much happier now. The scent wasnt as strong now either, maybe that was the smoke changing the way she smelled things. Either way she let Cri lead her and Jakkan away to that tree house and there they would sleep though to be fair she may sleep till the next evening. "Got a change of clothes? I dont want to sleep in this" She smiled at Cricket and would change into what ever Cri had. Pulling her close as they snuggled up in the big bed together Jakkan at the foot of the bed "That every day should end this way.. Good night and only sweet dreams for us both" kissing her forehead and reciting it as Domino had taught her to "Baku-san, kite, watashi no yume wo taberette kudasai.,Baku-san, kite, watashi no yume wo taberette kudasai.,Baku-san, kite, watashi no yume wo taberette kudasai." Passing out before her glasses came off hoping to dream of tonight instead of aggravated lights.
