  1. Sorcerer's Unbound Chain
  2. Mote: 5 or 10 Motes
  3. Target: Object or Creature
  4. This spell is a derivative of The Flying Guillotine.
  5. The sorcerer makes the Sign of the Grasping Spider. Her Essence congeals into a chain as long as he needs it, flies toward the target at 170 yards per tick (about 340 mph). The sorcerer can target anything she can see within 500 yards.
  6. Whatever the target, the sorcerer's player rolls (Perception + Occult) in the Cast Sorcery action, adding the character’s Essence as automatic successes to the roll. This attack may not be parried without a stunt or Charm. If this is a surprise attack, the chain’s great speed increases the difficulty to spot it by +2. The Unbound Chain
  7. avoids obstacles (negating cover and shield bonuses) and can even turn corners to chase a foe.
  8. If the Sorcerer spends 5 motes she can target a Object and the Chain will either latch onto or around it, while the other end remains at the sorcerers feet. Depending on the object she can either climb up the chain (Dexterity+Occult for the Sorcerer, Dexterity+Athletics for others) with the chain allowing the sorcerer enhanced grip upon it or drag the toward him (Strength+Occult for the Sorcerer, Strength+Athletics for others).
  9. If the Sorcerer spends 10 motes the Chain behaves like a Flying Guillotine, but instead of doing damage it will engage in a clinch, wrapping itself around the target and preventing any actions by it (as well as reduce DV to 0) until it is broken. In order to break it, the Target must make a (Dexterity/Strength+Martial Arts) roll on his tick which beats the attack roll of the original spell.
  10. The Chain exists (Essence) Hours or until the sorcerer releases it.
