  6.
  7. >Falling
  8. >Falling
  9. >Endless falling
  10. >Tumbling
  11. >Which way is up?
  12. >What the hell is going on?
  13. >Where am I?
  14. >All I see is an endless black void
  15. >I look down to see my yellow fur illuminated as though I were in just a normal room
  16. >I spread my wings, trying to catch some air and stablize myself
  17. >Nothing
  18. >There's still a sense of falling, but I don't feel myself slowing or stablizing
  19. >Still tumbling
  20. >I start to hear wind
  21. >A quiet whooshing at first, but slowly it begins to get louder
  22. >I see a white dot
  23. >It looks like I'm going towards it
  24. >Okay, that's my horizon
  25. >I think I'll go that way
  26. >Not like I have much else to go to
  27. >Not like I can go anywhere else, now that I think about it
  28. >Not unless I can manipulate gravity
  29. >Can I?
  30. >...
  31. >Nope, nothing
  32. >The wind is getting really loud now
  33. >I come ever closer to the dot, and I fall through it
  34. >My surroundings have suddenly changed, and I see now that I'm in some sort room
  35. >I never gave much of a shit about the names of rooms or real estate, but I'm pretty sure this qualifies as a den
  36. >Theres a fireplace, and sitting in a recliner is Sierra's father, Mr. Hammer
  37. >In his lap is a partially assembled M1911
  38. >He's slipping the recoil spring back into position as he speaks to me
  39. >It looks like he was halfway through a sentence when I fell into this experience
  40. >When the wind dies down, I hear Mr. Hammer finish his sentence
  41. "-and if she is ever hurt, EVER, know that I will never forgive you."
  42. >The moment he finishes his statement, he slips the barrel bushing back into place with a loud *SNAP*
  43. >Suddenly, my field of vision starts to dissapear, and it looks as though I were falling backwards into a pitch black tunnel, while what was my field of vison becomes distorted
  44. >Just before I am out of hearing range, I hear my voice echo back to me
  45. "Yes sir. Understood sir..."
  46. >The window to the den vanishes, fading into the darkness
  47. >I look down, and I can't see myself
  48. >I'm definitely there, I can tell that much, but I can't see fuckall
  49. >Suddenly, the pitch blackness starts to give way to light, and suddenly, the entire tunnel lights up, pure white
  50. >I start to fall backwards into a new realm
  51. >I'm in what appears to be a white dome
  52. >The walls are... fuzzy, so to speak
  53. >I'm halfway between sitting and laying down
  54. >I can feel a weight on my chest and stomach
  55. >I look down
  56. >It's her
  57. >She's...
  58. >Sleeping
  59. >She's holding my forelegs
  60. >I feel really cold all of a sudden, and I realize she's shivering
  61. >I'm shivering too
  62. >Fuck
  63. >Why is my vision panning upwards?
  64. >Great, there's that falling sensation
  65. >And right on cue, I fall away from that vision and I feel myself start tumbling through the darkness
  66. >I start to hear the wind again
  67. >It's not just wind I'm hearing direct from the source
  68. >It's echoing down from the light I'm falling away from
  69. >The wind gets louder than before, and suddenly starts turning into an EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  70. >The void starts to light up with a blue light
  71. >Suddenly my field of vision is filled with information
  72. >I'm all of a sudden standing on a ship, that much is clear
  73. >The screaming wind has turned into a crack, followed by a whistling that dies away quickly
  74. >I'm moving forward in a bipedial position, towards the port side
  75. >I can see some warships sailing in formation with the ship I'm on
  76. >I'm rushing forward towards the port side, across what looks like that nonskid stuff
  77. >I'm also holding a rifle and decked out in BDUs
  78. >Halfway there and I see two gloved hooves come up and grab the deck, and watch as I run up to a pony clad in BDUs of some sort and a balanclava
  79. >I see myself try to slam the guy in the nose with my buttstock, but the guy catches it with one hoof and grabs the forward grip with the other and starts wrestling with me for it
  80. >My momentum isn't enough to put him off balance, so for about ten seconds we're jerking the rifle back and forth
  81. >Eventually, I manage to shove him over the edge of the deck
  82. >And he drags me along for the ride
  83. >Fuck
  84. >About five feet below the deck is a net, and when my assailent and me land on it, my momentum causes my head to smash into the other guy's face, but my helmet takes most of the energy
  85. >I look up to see the battlefield and see a P-3 pony flying over little PT boats in the distance, dropping torpedos
  86. >He dodges gunfire, banking between the rounds quickly
  87. >Suddenly, I see one of his engines burst into flame, and before he can compensate, he rolls to the starboard side and nicks his wing on the surface of the water
  88. >As his wing is stopped in just a few meters, his momentum causes him to do cartwheels for several dozen meters, before coming to a complete stop in the water
  89. >I feel my mouth open as wide as it can as I scream in horror
  90. "SPRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE!!!"
  91. >As I scream the word, I am thrown backwards into the void again, and the wind follows me as I tumble
  92. >The space I'm falling through starts to light up again
  93. >Tan light fills the void this time
  94. >The screaming wind is overwhelming now
  95. >I fall sideways through a hole in the void into where the light is coming from
  96. >The screaming wind has become the sound of roaring of turbojets
  97. *THUD*
  98. >A grunt escapes me as I slam sideways into a mass of metal
  99. >It seems like a cheap car parked on the side of some sort of dirt road
  100. >It feels like I'm in a desert biome
  101. >Only a few moments after I slide into the car, a pony I know well slides sideways into the car as well, facing towards me, as A-10s, some of which are plane ponies, others the full sized inanimate aircraft, drop munitions a few blocks away
  102. >It's my buddy Red
  103. >His mane is cut short like mine, down to about five inches, rather than his usual nose length, and he's wearing BDUs just like mine
  104. >As he screams into a tiny mic on his shoulder, gunfire bursts out across the street, and rounds impact the car
  105. "Hawkshot 1-2 to Actual, we need support diverted to our position!"
  106. >I hear a voice in my head and feel a slight buzzing sensation in my jaw, as the radio sends the audio feed up through my bones and to my ears
  107. "Actual to Hawkshot, we do not have the resources available to send air support to two soldiers. Just hang on and wait for reinforcments. Out."
  108. >As Actual finishes transmitting, I raise my rifle and blindly spray fire over the hood of the car
  109. "Asshole!" Red shouts at no one in particular
  110. >Red raises his machine gun over the door of the car and pokes it through the back window and sprays about 30 rounds blindly, giving the other side of the street something to worry about
  111. >As he screams out "FUCK YOU TOWELHEADS," I pull my weapon back into cover and hit the mag release
  112. "Fucking Actual can't divert any fireteams to help us out?!" I ask as I pull a full mag out of a pouch
  113. "Brass has their head up their fucking ass as always!" Red replies, fiddling with his M27
  114. >I pull out a cylindrical grenade and squeeze the spoon, but before I can pull the pin, I'm thrown against a wall, and my ears are filled with the sound of EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  115. >As the claws on chalkboards in my ears quiet down and the dust settles, I see that I'm on my belly coughing and sputtering in the sand, my rifle still at my side and the unarmed grenade sitting in front of me, and I begin to hear two voices
  116. >Red's and mine
  117. "-FUCKCOCKMOTHERFUCKERGODDAMNSHITFUCK-" Red sputters as his voice intermingles with gunfire
  118. >Meanwhile I try to gather my gear and spit and sputter something along the lines of
  119. "-AND WHEN SHIT LIKE THIS HAPPENS IT FUCKS WITH MY EARBALLS AND I CAN'T DO JACK FUCKING SHIT BECAUSE IT'S LIKE MY THIRD FAVORITE SENSE AND IF YOU'RE TOO CHICKENSHIT TO TAKE YOUR CANDY ASS TO THE FUTURE AND SMASH THE DEFENSE GRID SO SKYNET-"
  120. >As I scramble back into cover, I realize that the car has moved about 3 feet closer to the wall I slammed into
  121. >The area around the trunk is burning and the engine block is blown open
  122. "GODDAMMIT!!!" Red screams as he scrambles to get into a firing position, laying on his left side, and starts firing
  123. >As I scramble to get into my position, a pointless thought goes through my head: "I sure hope this engine block isn't Magnesium"
  124. >Suddenly, I hear a loud chain of THOOMs coming our way, and the gunfire coming our way suddenly changes direction, and the tracers suddenly go towards the right, where the booming is coming from
  125. "Fuck you Hadjis!"
  126. "Oo-fuckin-rah!"
  127. >As curses and celebratory calls ring out intermingling with the gunfire, an LAV-25 followed by an MRAP comes down the street
  128. >Soldiers providing infantry support move alongside the two vehicles
  129. >I begin shouting out cheers of my own
  130. "USMC, BITCHES! FUCK YEAH!"
  131. >Suddenly, a beautiful voice comes on over the radio
  132. "I heard you two needed a lift!" Sierra laughs
  133. "Hell yeah!" I roar in reply as she does a low flyover
  134. >Red slaps me on the back
  135. "That girl was a good fuckin' choice!"
  136. "Fuck yeah, man..."
  137. >As I hear those words come from my mouth, I fall back into the void
