  1. <Darkling> Soon enough the sun is gone and stars are beginning to twinkle to life in the sky as it grows black. A cold sea breeze makes its way through your clothes.
  2. <Rasia> Rasia wiggles her nose, head cocking back to gaze up at the stars.
  3. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks skyward for a while. Sure, the sunset was a nice novelty, but the stars? Still trying to find the appeal. Unless... "I see a decapitated cow up there."
  4. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm's own gaze locks onto the Moon, staring.
  5. <Darkling> "You lot should head back inside and get some rest if you can." The captain says over his shoulder.
  6. <Rasia> Rasia looks to Wilhelm, nudging his side.
  7. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Soon, sir." Lahja says while playing connect the dots. There's a Rasia with a tail and disproportionately large, open mouth. A breeze or two later and she wanders back inside, head held up all the while.
  8. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He blinks and looks to Rasia, hardly noticing the chill wind. Of couse having someone notice his habit of glowing at night would be bad. A nod to Rasia and he heads below deck.
  9. <Rasia> Rasia's last to follow, lifting her shirt to capture one last sea breeze before heading under. Still not very civilized.
  10. <Darkling> Lit wanders in behind them and yawns before going down to their quarters. "I'm going to head to bed. You should try to get some more rest, the ship ride will take all night."
  11. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja gives Lit an exceptionally lazy salute.
  12. <Darkling> He heads off into his and Wilhelm's shared room, you hear a bed creaking a moment later.
  13. Rasia wiggles her nose, staring at Lahja.
  14. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It's all boring from here on out." Lahja says, not seeing to mind. Last time she had an imaginary dead cat with her.
  15. <Rasia> Rasia would make a poor surrogate cat, methinks.
  16. <Darkling> The ship lets out a low wailing horn blow.
  17. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm finds a place to sit, producing his tablet...hesitating as he hears the horn.
  18. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Most likely. "It's probably nothing. Unless this ship is really a submarine that spies on aquatic life and we're about to submerge."
  19. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Hrm." His attention returns to the tablet.
  20. <Darkling> Nothing else follows the horn, just the sound of waves outside.
  21. <Wilhelm_Faustus> As the boat continues along a look of discomfort etches into place along the Aryan's features.
  22. <Rasia> Rasia wanders over, sitting besid e him.
  23. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja paces. But it's a bit wobbly and slower than the norm. Doesn't seem she has her sea legs. "I'm just thinking. If you two want some privacy let me know." she mutters.
  24. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm looks like he's about to say something, then he's up and running. The door to the bathroom slams behind him. In a matter of moments he can be heard throwing up. Land and space he can do. The ocean? The aryan's one true enemy.
  25. <Rasia> Rasia giggles, experiencing a little schadenfraude.
  26. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I know it's a little weird, but is it really that bad?" Lahja looks to the door, then to Rasia.
  27. <Rasia> "Rr?"
  28. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "How wobbly it is here."
  29. Rasia taps her lip. "Tree branch." She mimics how a tree branch bobs and sways with her hands.
  30. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja nods. "I hadn't thought of it that way, but I guess they're similar enough."
  31. <Rasia> Hmm. Lahja's a better person to ask, not being a space alien. "Lahja. Rasia...unnatural?"
  32. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Different in ways." Lahja says after considering it. "I don't think I'd call it unnatural, though. We're all pretty different. Why do you ask?"
  33. <Rasia> "Asking." She shrugs, letting her gaze wander to seem distracted.
  34. <Darkling> The boat lurches to the side heavily before leveling out.
  35. <Wilhelm_Faustus> That prompts another bout of heaving from the boy.
  36. <Rasia> Rasia grabs the couch, sniffing. "Wave?"
  37. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Whatever the differences are you can fit in with everyone else well enough if you want to. Like at the dance." Lahja falls over after that.
  38. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Bad weather maybe."
  39. <Rasia> "Dance..." A soft smile.
  40. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm staggers out of the bathroom, looking a bit green around the gills as he sits down and slumps.
  41. <Rasia> Rasia licks the boy's cheek, rubbing his side.
  42. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja stays on the floor. Looks like she's zoning out a bit.
  43. <Darkling> A shiphand pokes his head into the room. "We're likely going to hit some rough patches in the next hour or so. These waters aren't the safest." then he's gone.
  44. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Crap.
  45. <Rasia> Wilhelm gets a sympathetic petting, even if Lahja's a concern.
  46. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Sorry, Wilhelm." She would have brought Corrin's hat along if she knew he'd get seasick. And then she sighs. Yet another insensitive thought.
  47. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Perhaps it's karma." He rests against Rasia.
  48. <Rasia> The Israeli supports him, petting his hair like he often did for her.
  49. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Karma, hm? You're probably not the only one with lousy karma. "At least the ship hasn't exploded."
  50. <Darkling> Another heavy list to the side.
  51. Rasia growls, steadying herself and her boy.
  52. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Thanks." He mutters to Rasia, holding down the rest of his dinner so far. An arm slips around her for further stability.
  53. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja rolls along the ground. She mutters something under her breath. Mild profanity.
  54. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "You alright down there?"
  55. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I am. Just thinking."
  56. <Darkling> The ship finally levels out again.
  57. <Darkling> You can hear snoring coming steadily from Lit in the other room.
  58. <Rasia> Rasia stands, pointing up. "Prey?"
  59. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I don't envy you tonight, Wilhelm." Lahja looks up at the ceiling, which is not all that difficult. "Prey?"
  60. <Rasia> "Jotunn."
  61. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm has no idea whats going on, just watching.
  62. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Enough of that little exercise in empathy. Lahja stands quickly. "That's... interesting. But not good."
  63. <Rasia> She doesn't look so sure herself, but she heads up the stairs.
  64. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Holding his stomach Wilhelm follows.
  65. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja goes off after her. "How can you tell? Do you smell it?"
  66. <Rasia> "Feeling." Rasia heads for the rail opposite the way the ship's been leaning.
  67. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Interesting. Lahja heads in that direction as well, but very carefully.
  68. <Darkling> The view down is water breaking on the ship's side.
  69. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I don't sense anything."
  70. <Rasia> The Israeli leans, gazing out as far as her eyes and the fading light allow. Animals aren't infallible earthquake-detectors, after all.
  71. <Darkling> Some ice floes pass by as well.
  72. <Rasia> "Rr..."
  73. <Darkling> "Hey, get below deck!" A shiphand yells.
  74. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "C'mon Rasia." Wilhelm heads back below.
  75. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja peers out in that direction as well, but only briefly. Then she's on her way below deck again.
  76. <Rasia> She sniffs at the air one last time, and turns around to chase.
  77. <Darkling> As they pass back below deck a shadow swoops over the ship and the deckhand is gone.
  78. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm looks up briefly, then goes back to relaxing against Rasia.
  79. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I wonder why it isn't seriously attacking. Maybe it thinks the ship is a mate? Assuming they do that..."
  80. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Mating? No. They don't do that."
  81. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Good to know. I don't like the idea of them reproducing."
  82. <Rasia> Rasia pokes at her stomach, still on edge.
  83. <Darkling> Another lurch in the ship, not as big of one though. A pot falls off a counter clattering to the floor.
  84. <Rasia> Her head snaps towards the noise, a low growl sneaking out.
  85. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja is back to pacing. Nervous energy galore now. "I wonder if we've got a..." she grabs the couch this time, not so keen on falling over.
  86. <Wilhelm_Faustus> There might be Trolls deeper down below us...but I doubt they'll attack." He gets up and grabs the pot, putting in back.
  87. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja sighs at that. Still a possibility.
  88. <Darkling> Another deckhand comes down into the room. "Have any of you seen Sven? He's not at his post."
  89. <Rasia> "Rr?"
  90. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "So much for staying below the ship." He mutters.
  91. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "No one from above has come down here and not gone back up as far as I've seen."
  92. <Darkling> "Alright." He looks suspicious of you, but heads back upstairs.
  93. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks annoyed after he leaves, then sighs. Wasted opportunity to say something insensitive.
  94. <Darkling> The ship lurches again, this time sharply and there is a screeching sound like rending metal.
  95. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Huh.
  96. <Rasia> Rasia bristles, widening her stance.
  97. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja grabs the couch again. Her look of annoyance gets a lot more prominent.
  98. <Darkling> You can hear some noise from above, men shouting and running about.
  99. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Hm. "...well then." He approaches Rasia and kisses her. "Good night." A pat of the cheek for Lahja, since kissing her might be bad for his health, and he's off to bed.
  100. <Rasia> Rasia waves, gaze wandering up and down in alternation.
  101. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Good night, Wilhelm. With any luck the soothing, hypnotic drone of Lit snoring will help you sleep through this."
  102. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I guess I'll go think in the room now. Good night, Rasia." And then she's off as well.
  103. <Rasia> Rasia sits on the couch, anxiety keeping her awake, but it's probably best if she stays here to save the others...
  104. <Darkling> It's mid-morning and the ship has finally docked at the UN Dome. You've been escorted off the ship and are now just awaiting for your pickup within the Dome itself.
  105. <Rasia> Rasia paws at her eyes, yawning like a lioness. She even curls her tongue.
  106. <Darkling> Already you can tell the atmosphere here is much different than back home in Berlin. Not only is it more colourful and warm, but the people seem generally happier.
  107. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Despite not sleeping well Lahja seems to have devoted extra attention to her appearance. She's changed into one of her dresses now, looking quite the part of a doll. With bloodshot eyes. "Hello again, my childhood home. Did you miss me?"
  108. <Rasia> Rasia predictably didn't even change. The warmth does catch her attention, and she immediately checks on Wilhelm.
  109. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He noticed the heat too, already sweating. "...I should have stayed home."
  110. <Darkling> A white car pulls up and out steps a woman in a white suit jacket with blonde hair and square glasses. She approaches the group.
  111. <Rasia> Rasia's head cocks. We know a lot of blondes...
  112. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "A few down sides like that aside it's very nice here." Lahja looks to the woman, particularly her clothing. Who's this? Dr. DD?
  113. <Darkling> "Welcome to the UN pilots, and welcome home Lahja. I'll be your liaison for your trip here."
  114. <Wilhelm_Faustus> ". . ." Hard to tell if it's another one or not. His hands slip into his pockets, looking about lazily.
  115. <Rasia> Rasia's eyes narrow, her nose scrunching.
  116. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Thank you, miss liaison. It's good to be back." Lahja salutes the woman. She's gone monotone all of a sudden.
  117. <Darkling> "Please, call me Alva." She starts back to the car. "If you follow me I can take you to your accommodations and help you get settled in. I'm sure a nice warm shower and some hot food would be welcome after your trip here."
  118. <Rasia> Wilhelm gets a sympathetic pet.
  119. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Alva." Lahja says it with a nod.
  120. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Siiigh~
  121. <Darkling> She climbs into the car.
  122. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja is off to the car as well. Resting the eyes for a while sounds nice.
  123. <Rasia> Rasia settles in to make sure no spots next to Alva are open. Territorial as ever.
  124. <Wilhelm_Faustus> After a moment to fan himself Wilhelm gets in too.
  125. <Darkling> At least the car seems to have some form of air conditioning.
  126. <Darkling> Once everyone is in it heads off at a slow pace through the streets of the UN Dome. There aren't many other cars to be seen, most people seeming to prefer to walk around.
  127. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Thank Jotunheim for small favors.
  128. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja closes her eyes after getting settled in, but she's not even trying to sleep. She lifts a hand for a moment, but quickly puts it back on her lap. "Wilhelm, Rasia? What do you think?"
  129. <Rasia> "Rr?"
  130. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "...it's hot."
  131. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I hope you get to like it here." Still monotone.
  132. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I have to wonder if you do."
  133. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It's not perfect. But it's home."
  134. <Darkling> "We've rented you a hotel suite." Alva explains as she drives. "You'll be staying there when you aren't at the base for business."
  135. <Rasia> "Pool?"
  136. <Darkling> "There is a pool yes."
  137. <Darkling> The car stops outside of a small looking hotel. "Here we are."
  138. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja opens her eyes. Adequate. "It looks nice enough."
  139. <Rasia> Rasia waits on Wilhelm, clicking her teeth.
  140. <Darkling> Alva gets out, followed by Lit.
  141. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A look to Rasia and Wil gets out, stretching.
  142. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja gets out as well, staring at the little hotel.
  143. <Darkling> A two story building, looking more like a small manor than a hotel with yellow stucco walls and bright gardens.
  144. <Darkling> "Let's get you situated and comfy." Alva leads you to your temporary home.
  145. <Darkling> ==============END==============
