MAKING MIIVERSE STYLED ART

Making Miiverse styles drawings/edits is as easy as pie. All you need is basic drawing/editing knowledge and you should be fine.

What you’ll need:

• A Computer (durrr!)
• A drawing program (sai, MediBang, doesn’t matter) or an Editing Program (Paint.NET, Photoshop)
• GIMP (get it at www.gimp.org )
• Drawing tablet (unneeded but recommended if you plan to draw)

Got that stuff? Alright, let’s go!

Step 1. Make a canvas that’s 320x120, it’s the size of Miiverse drawings.

Step 2. Draw the thing you wanna draw. Might wanna use only black and white, but you can also color as well. And for that sweet Miiverse style, try using a binary pen or disabling anti-aliasing.

Step 3. After you’re done drawing, save the image. Now, open up GIMP.

Step 4. Open up your image in GIMP that you just made. Once it’s opened, go to Image > Mode > Indexed, and it will pop up with a small window. Click “Use black and white 1-bit palette”, and then for color dithering leave it at none. However, if your image is colored, use “Floyd-Steinberg (normal)”

Step 5. Congratulations! Your image now looks like it was made in Miiverse! Now just save it as a copy, and you’re done!

You can also use images with this method as well to make it look like it was made on a Miiverse printer! Just scale them down to the canvas size, that’s all.
