Props to the author. These chapters are beyond excellent, im on the edge of my seat with every chapter. MW has always been good, but seeing ling min fall and his heart of martial arts broken and the thoughts he now has is exciting and unpredictable. The author refuses to give us his inner monologue as before, only the details from the outside or lin's observations, he knows we want to see him recover but, instead of doing what lin has always done in the way the author always did it. he is having ling min operate outside himself with a narrative style that comes from the outside.

He is walking the red dust road. Its one of the few times i really really am appreciating this plot device. We know he must conquer himself, only after being broken can he see the things he was blinded towards. Each encounter he has with someone is like a baptism in their story its really unpredictable. We get a story where the author breaks the character and breaks something in us, but instead of talking us through, he shows lin ming the world which he left behind with all its broken, beautiful and curious parts. Each part taking from the story as it was left off and giving us and lin ming something.

What a great set of chapters. Truly excellent work. Fantastic job by the translators keeping it immersive and clean to read.

            I recall the dumpling lady a few chapters back saw tears forming around his eyes while he was eating.  There might be another mention or two.

            I envisioned his mask a bit like one of those Skyrim priest masks but with the eye slits a bit more opened.

            Actually.. hes not losing cultivation at all. I've re-read the last 10 chapters a number of times as this is my favorite novel. What actually is happening is his 'Eternal Soul' was ripped out of him which is able to let him live forever. His soul itself was ripped out with barely any remaining, and without the 'main soul' per say supporting it, his life is dwindling away. He's dying, not losing cultivation.

            My guess? He's going to come to some sort of realization, say "fuck it im lin ming" and merge his magic cube with his soul.

            I guess it's kinda different. He grow in cultivation, and he knew and know those things, in the end, were fake. So it's kinda hard to make them count. What's more, everything he experienced there was used in his old "samsara martial intent".

            Now he's experiencing something true.

            If I don't remember wrong, he flighted in those samsara so as to destroy every world and pass to another one. While here he's in the "reality". There's nothing he can do.

            And, the most important thing, I guess, it's his mentale state. He never gave up when in samsara martial intent then, now he gave up, he thinks himself like a dead man, an oil lamp on its last moments of litgh before the endless night. We can also add the feeling of powerlessness of not being able to save his lovers, frienda, kin, nothing, much less himself. So yeah. I guess it's quite different. And everything steers from mental state and the fact it's "reality" and non spiritual world.

            yeah he lived 100 complete lives but that is over 100 years ago, and after that he experienced way to much. He lived as the hero of the divine Realm so maybe yeah he forgot what it was to live as a mortal wouldn't be surprising and its not only about the the live of a mortal its about his past and a way to change his fate and a way to get his fighting spirit back. So its not meaningles because it is a baptism for him.

    I'm not saying the author is a master at stuff like this, but something to provide a little more dimension than just ~EPIC-HUGE-FIRE-THUNDER-WEENIS~ is appreciated, imo.

    At least he's moving through, bit after bit, with only a chapter or two of explanations and tie-ins devoted to each, instead of dragging them out for half a dozen chapters a piece or something like that.

        I'm not against stuff like this, but the way this one has gone just isn't interesting. We aren't kids watching Saturday morning cartoons, we all know Lin Ming won't die. So from the moment he found out a True Divinity was chasing him, the tension already fell flat. There is literally nothing he can do to harm or escape from a True Divinity by himself. So we already knew something would step in and block for him. And now his dying but not really phase is just dragging on revisiting characters we haven't cared about in hundreds of chapters if anyone even remembered their contributions to the story. This is like watching a professional tightrope walker pretend to have trouble while a safety net is clearly visible below him.

            And not just the Samsara cycles on Skyspill, but the more recent events in the Spiritas realm (such as the life-death cycles at those pillars with Sheng Mei)...

            And all of those events contributed to his soul strengthening... which has now been ripped away 99.98%.

            I guess I see this part of the story as an attempt to show how he may have learned all these wonderful and amazing heavenly laws, but now he's actually rediscovering them in a way that makes them a complete part of his existence.

            Basically, he's making the transition from being learned to being wise.

        I like that the autor changed the story from being invincible to the greatest setback he ever faced, but it is killing me to wait another day to read a chapter , I can't complain cause in other novels the release date is 1 chapters at 3 days a week or a month.

        But still I love the story , and it's killing me .

    There are lots of ppl that actually enjoy this phase in any wuxia. I'm one of them. Its give us context on how much has changed in our MC life. This is rare moment where our MC experience to just let go, live the moment & not burden by the weight of the world. These so call small moment is what truly define our MC state of mind & temparament. Its about time for us the reader take a break from all the action like the last time LM actually took a break from all the fighting & cultivating is back in Asura Road with XM, its been fast & furious ever since. Its about time for things to slow down.
