  27. Traits:
  28. Smolderthorn is a female deer. Her fur is a dark chocolate, covered in arcane sigils painted with ash, with an underbelly and spots of an only slightly lighter umber coloration, and her eyes are a deep wine color. Smolderthorn comes from a tribe of fauna that pledges their allegiance to an elder dragon who resides atop a mountain beneath what remains their forest. Once a peaceful tribe that coexisted with a multitude of others in a great forest, trouble arose as pony settlers began to settle and expand into their lands. While many tribes adapted and assimilated into pony culture, Smolderthorn's tribe were deeply protective of their land, and led attacks against the colonists. When numbers dropped due to the tribal tactics met the technology and firepower of modern technology, her tribe became desperate. They went searching for a patron that would guard their remaining claim of the forest, no matter what it meant for the tribe. After a close call with a persuasive warlock almost convincing the tribe to imbibe demon's blood and surrender their freedom in exchange for power, the tribe found a suitable protector - an elder dragon. Residing on a mountain a half a day's travel their forest, in a cave another full day's travel up, this dragon had resided for many years and occasionally terrorized the surrounding area demanding tribute. With ample gifts and promise of servitude, the dragon greedily accepted the offer of a tribe paying to be his slaves in exchange for scaring away ponies that ventured to close to their village, a scorched border surrounding their land.
  29. Smolderthorn herself was very young when when the tribe gave themself to the dragon, and barely remembers life before dragon subjugation. Rituals done by shamans of the tribe allow her to serve under a dragon's wings to the best of her ability. However, with the dragon having withdrawn to his cave citing an grim illness, and ponies rallying to wipe her tribe from existence, Smolderthorn left her tribe to either seek out a cure for their avaricious guardian, or to find a new way to protect her meager tribe from becoming a footnote of the past. Unapologetic for her strange and taboo practices she partakes in, Smolderthorn holds a distaste for others not of her tribe. However, being far enough away from her homelands, the doe reluctantly realizes they're not her enemies.
