  1. >Luis was a food critic, one of the best in the world.
  2. >A glowing review from him could turn even the most out of the way hole in the wall into a world famous eatery, and a scathing critique could turn even a five star restaurant into a hovel not even the starving would steal bread from.
  3. >As such, his standards were obscenely high and all the chefs he'd hired over the years had quickly grown tired of his nitpicking of every meal they put before him.
  4. >Finally, not a single Chef would answer his summons, as word of mouth amongst them had made him quite the unpopular employer.
  5. >This is where Elody came into the picture, a Maidbot with short curly hair the color of candied beets and soft grey optics who he had custom ordered to know as many recopies as humanly possible, alongside a plethora of cutting edge taste and smell sensors so that she could make sure that all his meals were satisfactory.
  6. >Truly, she should have been the perfect chef, able to produce wonderful delicacies from the world over exactly as they were in the recopies.
  7. >And to anyone else she would have been, But Luis was in the deepest pits of his heart of hearts a food critic.
  8. >Any mistake no matter how small was commented on, every meal given a grade, from A to F
  9. >Nothing that Elody produced ever managed to get above a B.
  10. >But to any outside observer it would appear that the Maidbot took this in stride.
  11. >They did not see the subtly hateful twist of her face when he looked away after telling her all the ways her latest meal disappointed, did not hear her enraged screams after a meal she had spent the entire day slaving over only received a C grade, failed to see the burns on her fingers and palms from when she'd pulled a burning hot baking sheet from the oven lest the pastries inside burn even the slightest bit only for him to take a single bite and then SPIT IT OUT ONTO THE FLOOR!
  12. >For months this went on, a gnawing hateful frustration growing within her like a parasite feasting on the food it's host ingested as they starved to death.
  13. >until a faithful day when she heard Luis on the phone, ordering a new Maidbot.
  14. >Something deep inside Elody broke into a million pieces as the parasite festering within her assumed control.
  15. >The tart was a simple affair, sweet fruits, a dusting of powdered sugar and a flaky crust. A culinary confection of her own design, lovingly crafted with expert hands.
  16. >But within it was a very special ingredient, an incredibly potent cleaner Luis had the help use to clean his industrial ovens, unfortunately for the food critic when mixed with the various fruits and dusted with powdered sugar tasting the highly toxic cleaner was completely impossible, something that Elody's advanced taste sensors allowed her to make sure of.
  17. >"For you, sir!" Elody said happily, placing the poison Tart in front of her master, soon to be deceased.
  18. >Luis carved off a bite sized chunk of tart and brought it to his lips.
  19. >After thoroughly chewing he sat still for a minute, considering what he had just tasted, and if the Maidbot were able sweat would have broken out along her brow.
  20. >"Elody, This is the most delicious Tart I've ever eaten" Luis complimented "That's definitely deserving of an-" he said, only to begin to choke, grasping at his throat desperately as he struggled to take a breath that would never come.
  21. >Luis' death was ruled accidental. Because after all, who could believe that the Maidbot begging her master to live so desperately could have been the one to kill him?
