  1. Randomly ranting about this because I keep seeing it talked about on Reddit and stuff. This pastebin was brought on by this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/57gs74/gears_of_war_4s_loot_box_system_shows_how_bad/ I'm tired of the "if the game is fun and you are gonna invest a ton of time into the game, who cares how bad the micro-transactions are" argument. I tweeted about this before but they already upped the Credit (in game currency) for Versus mode by almost double but as people pointed out it's insanely low. Horde hasn't been touched yet despite being the most changed mode. Also it's worth mentioning that campaign gives you literally nothing. All you are unlocking is cosmetic stuff such as weapon skins and characters but it takes FOREVER. The main problem is in previous games everything was either already unlocked or unlocked Gears 3 special requirements, Gears Judgment you got a crate every 100 kills or something, or Gears 1 Ultimate Edition by level up (note that you do get 500 Credits per level up in Gears 4). The best odds is a pack that costs 3500 (originally 4000) credits. On average you get 70-100 per game and games last anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the mode. Do the math and even then you aren't even guaranteed an Epic (all characters are this) or Legendary Skin. You start with no weapon skins and like 5 characters per team assuming you didn't pre-order or buy the Rockstar/Totino's promo stuff. You get some crates for pre-ordering and playing a previous gears title but not much. You can Scrap Skins orBounties (what you pull 99% of the time instead of characters and just are used to get extra exp or Rare ones that give Credits back) but it's nothing. Common stuff that you usually get costs 40 to make and gives 5 in returns. IMO they need to SCRAP this whole system because getting what you want requires insane amount of time. So far I've gotten 2 characters (600 Scrap each) by scrapping stuff and I'm level 71 + I got like 20 crates for getting the 100 dollar version of the game. Only got 1 character from that. (Don't even get me started on what characters are even in the game cause they all suck mostly lol) What's even worse is since launch they've already added more bundles for both $50 and $100 for buying more crates. Don't get me wrong the game is great and this isn't going to change how much I play it and I didn't plan on investing money anyways so it's not like The Coalition are losing any more money but saying people aren't allowed to complain about a bad implementation of micro-transactions for cosmetics is dumb. I don't understand why they got rid of Medals. That could've been perfect for getting Credits/Scrap and unlocking characters. Do all the easy Bronze ones to be able to get your favorite characters early but in 1 week in I've only pulled 1 character out of maybe 40 crates and been able to craft 2 when there are at least 50 characters and hundreds for weapons. Another possible option is turning Credits directly into Scrap. They'd have to find some sort of even ground where doing that isn't 100% better than taking the risk of pulling rare stuff but anything would help. They've already been quickly updating issues with the game and addressed this already so I have faith, they've always been good with the fans.
