- I finally re-routed 100% of BioShock, with some little changes, as my first run was a disaster. Anyway here goes the most inportant fact of this FAQ: you'll see me searching on corpses a lot, and why is that? Because I need to get a lot of materials, the Enzime ones are really rare and I need at least 6 for the end, with my tests I normally got 9-11 of them so I should be good.
- I routed Audio diaries and tonics, researches may change the order of the tonics:
- Click this link to see the route: http://goo.gl/9khrXt
- Q: (Kind of obvious question) What do you need / count for 100%?
- A: Here's a list of all I need to get:
- * This route doesn't include DLC Plasmid / Tonics, as that is console only, and it's not a big deal.
- - All Audio Diaries (122).
- - All Tonics (53) / All Researchs*, as you need some for Tonics.
- - All Weapon Upgrades (12).
- - All Plasmids / Plasmid & Tonic Slots. (Yes, I include this)
- - Little Sisters Gifts* - Needed for ADAM. This means I'll save ALL Little Sisters.
- * Research Rewards:
- -Scrounger (Leadhead Splicer Level 2)
- -Static Discharge 2 (Leadhead Splicer Level 4)
- -Sportboost (Thuggish Splicer Level 2)
- -Sportboost 2 (Thuggish Splicer Level 4)
- -Natural Carmouflage (Houdini Splicer Level 2)
- -Extra Nutrition 3 (Spider Splicer Level 4)
- -Photographers Eye 2 (Rosie level 2)
- -Security Expert 2 (Security Bot Level 2)
- -Wrench Jockey 2 (Bouncer Level 2)
- * Little Sisters Gifts:
- -Safecracker (after 6 saved Sisters)
- -Armored Shell 2 (after 12 saved Sisters)
- -Profilic Inventor (after 18 saved Sisters)
- Q: How did you route the game?
- A: -> I've basically created my route (with some modifications) from this youtube Guide:
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCbIbbUmI8E&list=PLAtQpRVrE5Z6rYKDdFWTQ4wM4pnyaEKD6
- -> Other links I used:
- Power to the People (Weapon Upgrade) Locations:
- http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Power_to_the_People
- This link was used to know exactly how many machines are per level (1,2) and the locations,
- of course.
- Audio Diaries/Tonics: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/931329-bioshock/65587825
- This link was used to know how many diaries are per level and the locations (it's really easy to
- miss a diary).
- I changed some stuff in my doc (that you can check using the linkat the start of the pastebin), but well.
- Q: Why didnt you kill Sander Cohen in Fort Frolic?
- A: You NEED him ALIVE so that you can get access to a "Power to the People" Machine (Weapon upgrade) in Olympus Heights.
- I didnt know it at first, but it's really easy to think you need to kill him in Fort Frolic. Also he gives you access to a Tonic
- when you see it in Fort Frolic.
- Q: Why don't you count Health Upgrades for 100%?
- A: I think these upgrades are not worth getting as you don't get an achievement for it anyway. But the main reason is you need to
- save ADAM for Plasmids / Tonics so there's no point on getting those upgrades, and they're not really important though.
- Q: Are there any skips that you can do in this run?
- A: Yes, actually diary skip is used in this route, and also I can still do the new Welcome to Rapture Little Sister cutscene skip, Welcome to Rapture Ryan's speech Skip, Smuggler's Hideout Door Skip and Apollo Square Elevator Skip.
- Q: What difficulty are you playing the game on?
- A: BioShock Speedruns are done on Easy, basically because some big jumps kill you pretty quickly, and one of those jumps is the Apollo Square Elevator Skip.
- Not a question, but part of the Route - Door Codes used (in order of use):
- -> Neptune's Bounty:
- 5380
- 7533
- -> Arcadia:
- 9457
- -> Hephaestus:
- 0126
- -> Olympus Heights:
- 5744
