A few guiding principles for industry diplomacy by @marasawr
1. Dismissing the concerns of regulators as irrelevant or stupid is the opposite of constructive.
2. Communicating your understanding of efficacy and intended / unintended impacts vs objectives in clear, accessible language is a good and helpful thing to do. Regulators will line up to talk to you if you can do this and not be a jerk about it.
3. Backing your points with citations and documentation should be the norm. There’s not a whole lot that can be done with unsubstantiated opinions, even if they are 100% right.
