Juniper: Hi there! Welcome to the world of Pokemon! My name is Professor Juniper. Everyone calls me the Pokemon Professor!

Hannah: *Blinks* Er, hi?

*Pokeball opens, Cincinno comes out*

Juniper: That's right! This world is widely inhabited by mysterious creatures called Pokemon!

Hannah: Okay. Can you tell me something I don't know?

Juniper: Pokemon have mysterious powers. They come in many shapes and live in many different places.

Juniper: We humans live happily with Pokemon! Living and working together, we complement each other. We help each other out to accomplish difficult tasks. Having Pokemon battle one another is particularly popular, and it deepens the bonds between people and Pokemon. And that is why I research Pokemon.

Hannah: ...Gee, I never would have guessed. Mind telling me why you've suddenly had a lapse of memory? It's not like I come from another dimension or something....

Juniper: Well, that's enough from me... Could you tell me about yourself? Are you a boy? Or a girl?

Hannah: I rest my case. Seriously, this should be obvious just by looking at me. I'm a girl!

Juniper: You're a girl, right? I'd like to know your name. Please tell me.

Hannah: *Sighs* Hannah.

Juniper: Your name is Hannah? What a wonderful name! Now, could you tell me a little about your friend-the older boy who lives nearby? Would you mind telling me his name?

Hannah: Okay, you're starting to get a little creepy. *Sighs again* His name's Hugh.

Juniper: Did I get that right?

Hannah: *Annoyed glare*

Juniper: Hannah! I'm going to entrust you with a Pokemon. I'm sure you will be great partners!

Hannah: Finally, a new piece of information. Well, that's good to know.

Juniper: The moment you choose the Pokemon that will accompany you on your journey, your story will truly begin. During your journey, you will meet many Pokemon and people with different personalities and points of view. I really hope you learn what is important to you as a result of your travels...

Hannah: Aaand you go back to being Mrs. Obvious. But thanks for the well-wishes, anyway?

Juniper: That's right! Befriend new people and Pokemon and grow as a person! That's the most important goal of your journey! Let's go visit the world of Pokemon!

Hannah: Aren't we already in it?

???: Oh, hi! Why, Aurea Juniper! It's been far too long! What can I do for you?

Hannah's Mother: Why, that's great! I think a journey would be a wonderful experience!

*Hangs up, goes inside*

*Hannah just getting up*

Hannah's Mother: Hannah! I'm home!

Hannah: You're home? At 6 in the morning? What the heck were you doing all night? You seem to be talking a bit slow....

Hannah's mother: ...What?

*Hannah opens up the options menu, turns text speed to "fast"*

Hannah: Never mind. *Walks up* But seriously, what were you doing all night?

Hannah's Mother: That's none of your business. I've more important things to tell you.
Do you know Professor Juniper? She's a famous Pokemon researcher.

Hannah: I had a dream about her last night. Seems to be Mrs. Obvious, if that's anything to go by....

Hannah's Mother: Actually, she's an old friend of mine, and she called me today for the first time in ages!

Hannah: And you didn't tell me about her earlier why?

Hannah's Mother: ...This is out of the blue, but, Hannah! Do you want to have a Pokemon?

Hannah: Oh, that's right. I was supposed to get one of those today. Why it has to be at this hour is beyond me....

Hannah's Mother: Okay, step one completed! Well then, do you know what a Pokedex is?

Hannah: ...Isn't that a database of some sort?

Hannah's Mother: I knew you would! Isn't it amazing how it automatically records Pokemon you encounter?

Hannah: If it's mandatory to get a Pokemon, then yes.

Hannah's Mother: Okay! Step two completed!
Hannah! Your course of action has been set!
A girl named Bianca has come here to meet you!
She's Professor Juniper's assistant. I was simply told to look for a big, green hat!

Hannah: Well, that's helpful. For all I know, there could be a million girls with big, green hats. This world's fashion sense is ridiculous.

Hannah's Mother: That's right! You're going to look for Bianca. And then you'll get a Pokedex and a Pokemon to be your partner!

Hannah: ...

Hannah's Mother: Oh! Your Xtransceiver's in your Bag, right? Do you know how to open your bag?

Hannah: Mom, I'm not that stupid!

Hannah's Mother: The girl's name is Bianca. I was told you should look for a big, green hat! She might be lost because this is her first time here. Go look for her!

*Hannah looks down at herself, realizes she's still in pajamas*

Hannah: As soon as I'm done getting dressed and had a shower and all that. I just got up a few minutes ago!

Hannah's Mother: Okay, but hurry up.

*Some time later*

Hannah's Mother: Hurry up, Hannah! You don't want to keep Bianca waiting, do you?

Hannah: Well, it's not my fault the game developers decided it was mandatory for me to have a ridiculous hairstyle!

*Some time later, description of Hannah's appearance*

Hannah: Alright, I'm ready to go now. Love ya, Mom.

Hannah's Mother: Love you too, Darling!

Hannah: That's the whole reason I'm even up. Some girl named Bianca wants to give me one today.

Hannah: Well, you're awfully eager. I haven't even told you what she looks like!

Hugh: Okay, then. What are we looking out for?

Hannah: ...The most I got for a description was a girl with a big, green hat. Helpful description, isn't it?

Hugh: *Shrugs* Well, we might as well head to the overlook. It is Aspertia's most famous spot, after all. Maybe Bianca will be there looking at the scenery.

*They wander through Aspertia, talking about the conversation Hugh's parents and Hannah's mother had, as well as the exploits of the hero from two years ago*

My name is Bianca! I'm the assistant of the Pokemon Professor--Professor Juniper. By the way, I'm looking for someone. Do you know a person named Hannah?|

Hannah (sarcastically): *Moment's hesitation* You're in luck. I know her quite well; in fact, I hear she was supposed to get a Pokemon today. I imagine she's probably still sleeping, because it's ''''too freaking early in the morning for her to be up!''''

Bianca (Meekly): *Leans back slightly* Well, it's not my fault. Professor Juniper told me to be here this morning and well....
*Moment of epiphany*
*Stands up straight again* |Oh, wait! You're Hannah!| (Wooow! You're ex-act-ly like what I heard!) You certainly match up to my...uhm...expectations. *Adjusts her hat, smiles again* Nice to meet you!

Hannah: If it's mandatory to get a Pokemon, then yes.

Bianca: (Oh, wow, thanks!) Not exactly the positive response I expected, but it's a positive response nevertheless. *Nods* Thanks! Your support will help Professor Juniper's research move forward! Anyway, filling up the Pokedex is totally fun!

*Beat*

Hannah: So...are you going to give me a Pokemon or not?

Bianca: (OK, then!) Oh, right!
*Pulls out a box containing three Pokemon*

In here is the Pokemon that will be your partner!|

Hannah: *Smiles* At last. *Under her breath* This better be worth it.

*Hannah looks at the three starters, does some mental debating, finally picks Snivy*

Hannah: I think I like the cute little grass snake the best.

Bianca: Snivy, the Grass type Pokemon? You got it!

*Hannah picked Snivy!*

Bianca: |Oh, wow! You and Snivy are a perfect match!|

Hannah: That's not a stealth insult, is it?

Bianca: ...*Sighs* |By the way, would you like to give a nickname to the Pokemon you chose?|

Hannah: Oh, I get to name him? Alright, sure! *Thinks* Hm... I think I'll call him "Telan."

Bianca: (Telan! Is that the name you want?)

Bianca: Telan! That is such a great name! *Adjusts hat* Now you've got your Pokemon, so I'll give you this, too--a Pokedex!

*Hannah recieved the Pokedex!*

Bianca: You want to know what it does?

Hannah: I already know what it does. I watch the Discovery Channel, you know.

Bianca: *Odd look* Well, you might as hear it from someone who's used one personally. The Pokedex is a high-tech device that automatically records the Pokemon you encounter! *Smiles* So Professor Juniper wants you to carry this Pokedex, visit a lot of places, and meet all the Pokemon in the Unova region!

Hannah: So I'm to become an adventurer? Sounds good to me. *Yawns* I'll start after I go back to bed and get some more sleep. I still shouldn't be awake at this hour.

Bianca: For what it's worth, I'm not completely happy to be here, either. I wish Juniper would've warned me before sending me clear out here. *Smiles* Well, you're a trainer now. You'll get used to it.

Hannah: (Sarcactically) Yay. (Normally) Well, thanks for the well-wishes, and of course Telan! I'll take good care of him, I promise! *To Hugh* Alright, I've got my Pokemon. If you've no complaints, I'm going back to bed.

Hugh: About time. I was wondering how long you were going to keep me waiting. (Heeey! How long are you planning on keeping me waiting, anyway?) You could stand to be a little friendlier. I know it's early, but...come on!

Hannah: Well, what did you want me to do? Lean down and start polishing her shoes?

Hugh: First impressions are very important, and I don't think you left a good one on Bianca...
*Notices Hannah's Pokeball*

At least you got a Pokemon, anyway! Who'd you pick?

Hannah: I went with the cute grass snake...I think Bianca called him a Snivy?

Hugh: Snivy, huh? (So, that's your partner, huh?) |That's great!

Hannah: I suppose you didn't hear me make that exact same promise to Bianca just a few moments ago?

It looks like Pokemon distribution has really changed compared to two years ago, so the more, the merrier!|

Bianca: Ooh, I thought of something cool! You both have Pokemon, right? Why don't you have a Pokemon battle?

Hannah: ...But I just got Telan! Isn't it a bit early to be thinking about that?

Hugh: Oh, come on, Hannah! You and your partner could use the practice, and better against me than some random stranger, right? (Let's see how good a Trainer you are!) I'll use my Tepig that I raised from an Egg!

Hannah: *Sighs* If you say so....

Bianca: The Pokemon on both sides did their best! But this little one is still weak, so battle with it and make it stronger!

Hannah: This didn't cause lasting damage, did it?

Bianca: Nope! Both of them are going to come out okay, though for the sake of treating them nicely you probably shouldn't let Telan go too long without healing.

Hannah: Well, that's good to know.

Bianca: (All righty!) Let's go make your Pokemon better at the Pokemon Center! It's like the best place ever for Pokemon who battle and get hurt!

Hannah: If you say so....

Bianca: Next, I'll explain the PC!

*Walks over to the PC box*

Bianca: This square thing is a PC! Any Trainer is free to use it! You can deposit Pokemon in it. Also, you can withdraw Pokemon from it!

Hannah: ...Is this safe design? Is this even ethical?

Bianca: It's secure, and your Pokemon will be perfectly fine if they're placed within.

Hannah: Okay, then. *Glances at it suspiciously*

Bianca: The next thing is over here!
*Walks over to the Poke Mart*

Mom: Oh! Nice to meet you! You must be Bianca, right?
And Hannah picked Snivy, then!

Bianca: Yes, indeed. Not just Snivy, either - someone felt the need to give her a...um...Genesect, and there was a little debacle with that.

Mom: Genesect?

Hannah: It's a long story.

Mom: (Hee hee.) Well, you're still in one piece, so it must not have been bad. You're |looking good!|

*Hannah recieved a pair of Running Shoes*

Hannah: Oh, wow. Thanks! *Stoops down to put them on*

Mom: (A perfect fit!) I'll read the instructions to you!
"Hold the B Button to run faster than normal. Put on the Running Shoes and race around to your heart's content!"

*Hannah finishes putting on the shoes; puts her old ones in the bag*

Hugh's sister: I want you to give the other one to my big brother!

Hannah: I'll make sure to give him one once we meet each other again.

Mom: That's a good idea! Even if it is a single road to the ocean, having a Town Map is always nice.
I mean, if you use a Town Map, you'll know all about what the Unova region is like!

Bianca: Aww, you guys! Just watching this makes me happy!
C'mon, we're headed for Route 19! I'll teach you how to catch a Pokemon!

Mom: Bon voyage! Take Snivy and go see many different Pokemon and people with your own eyes!

Hannah: I'm not going to be gone for long, Mom - I still need to get some lost sleep in. Though, Norton kinda scared that out of me....

Mom: Norton?

Hannah: My name for Genesect. Again, long story. I'm going to head off now. Love you, Mom!

OK, here's how it works.
The Pokedex's pages fill up automatically when you meet Pokemon!

Hannah: Haven't you told me this a few times already? I already know!

Bianca: ...Right! (And when you catch a Pokemon, more detailed information on it is added to the Pokedex!) You might be interested to know that the Pokedex contains more detailed information about the Pokemon, though.
And now, time for the thing we came here for! (Here,) I'll show you how to catch a Pokemon! *Wanders out into the grass!* Starting...NOW!

*A wild Purrloin appeared!*

*Bianca sends out Lillipup!*

*Lillipup uses Tackle!*

*Knocks Purrloin into the red*

Bianca: You need to weaken the Pokemon, then throw a Poke Ball at it!

*Bianca throws the Pokeball, catching the Purrloin*

Bianca: See? Cute, fluffy Pokemon on this route. I think they'll help you recover from the shock of seeing Genesect. (What a relief! I caught a Pokemon!
Oh! Um... Right.)

Hannah: They might. Catching them looks easy enough, anyway.

Bianca: It is, once you get the hang of it. |I'll go over the important stuff.
First, go find a healthy Pokemon to catch!
You need to remember this next bit!
It's best to lower the Pokemon's HP before you try to catch it.
Use your Pokemon's moves to lower the HP of the Pokemon you want to catch.
Making it fall asleep or paralyzing it will make it even easier to catch|

Hannah: What happens if it loses consciousness?

Bianca: Um...Well, you can't catch it then. I don't know why; I think fainted Pokemon mess with the inner workings of the Poke Ball, or something. *Shrugs*
Anyway, you're going to deliver the town map to your friend, right?

Hannah: *Nods*

Bianca: *Motions* Continue straight this way to get to Floccesy Town!
Bye now! Meet lots of Pokemon and catch a lot of them, OK?
*Walks away*

Hannah: Well, I'm on my own now. Sorry Norton, but you're going to have to stay in that Poke Ball for now. *Pulls out Telan's Poke Ball, lets him out*
Okay, Telan. Are you ready to go?

Telan: *Whistles*

Hannah: Good. Let's have at them!

*Continues up the route*

*Catches a Patrat named "Rodent"*

*Gets criticalled by another Patrat that sends her back to the Pokemon Center, where the other people there have a laugh about Genesect*

Hannah: I'm never going to live that down, am I? *Sighs*

*Conks out a Purrloin that she wanted to catch, but Telan learns Vine Whip in the process*

*Catches the next Purrloin she sees, names it "Ruckus"*

*Grinds her team some before moving on*

Random Lass: Avoid the tall grass if you don't want to fight Pokemon!

*Finds a Potion*

Hannah: How long has this been sitting here...?

*Reads sign that reads 'Route 19'*

???: You there, Trainer!

*Hannah looks up on a cliff, sees Alder standing there*

Alder: My name is Alder! I'm a trainer with a keen interest in the world. One of my goals is to tell people about how wonderful it is to walk toward the future together with Pokemon.

*Jumps off the cliff*

Alder: And you are?

*Circles Hannah*

Alder: Your Snivy is a fine-looking Pokemon! But, you're not exactly a seasoned Trainer yet...

Alder: Indeed! I'll train you a little! Follow me!

Oh, that's right! Hannah, are your Pokemon well? Your Pokemon are always doing their best for you, the Trainer, so you must always be kind to them!

Alder: Hey, this way! Shall we start training?

Hannah: Hey, there's ought to be something new here....

*Wanders into tall grass, has a Mareep break out of a Poke Ball once, but catches it and names it "Lighthouse"*

*Konks out a Lillipup and a Psyduck*

*Catches a Lillipup, names it "Lady"*

*Konks out another Lillipup, Finds an Azurill and catches it, names it "Molecule"*

*Grinds her team a little bit*

*Ruckus gets knocked out by a Patrat*

*Finds a Pidove, catches it, and names it "Waka Waka"*

*Decides to finally catch a Psyduck, which gets named "Kappa"*

*After a half-hour, finds a Riolu. Catches it, names him "Crutch"*
