Blood of a warrior

Her heart beat wildly in her chest, her blood sang loudly in her ears and her body moved like lighting as she swung her blade against the enemy.

As she felt wild spray of blood splatter against her skin and clothes, she felt her grin widen.

This is what she lived for, the rush of the battle, the rage of war.

This was what she was meant to be, nothing else mattered at all.

Beyond duty, even beyond honor, nothing mattered to her more than the heat and excitement of a battle.

And as she swiftly flicked her blade to rid it of blood, she felt her chest twinge and shudder but viciously stomped the feeling down with ease.

She needed to get back to the battle before it ended.

Finding out what the pain was would come later.
