<Vigilant_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
<Vigilant_GM> Now indebted to the Brassmen "Fixer" known as Rokko, inquisitorial acolytes have ventured into the lower hive to deal with a rival of the fixer - yet another petty feud among countless others on Hive Desoleum.
<Vigilant_GM> The abandoned chapel and its adjacent district now becomes a fighting ground, its once proud spire defiled in a painful irony. Hounds sent after you lay dead on the street, and Copperdome reloads the grenade launcher despite the hideous wound to his shoulder.
* Karpath looks over the car, using it a cover to look and see, "So now what?"
<Shiv> "Let's leave. I vote on that."
<Baird> "Copperdome cover our asses and let us know if any of these feth wipes try and circle around and flank us or happen to try and run."
<Nomad> "Find better cover and tunnel them towards us?"
<Vigilant_GM> "Orak!!" Copperdome exclaims, his voice bouncing off the high walls surrounding the chapel. "Come out, dog!"
<Vigilant_GM> He braces the launcher against his body at a sharp angle, and fires another aimless round over the wall.
* Baird turns and looks at the other Acolytes. "As for us we have a job to do. Lets head inside..that includes you Shivvy."
<Karpath> "I'm in for having Copper watch the car while we go in, granted he stop firing anymore grenades at the place."
<Baird> "I trust you can not fire fething grenades while we're inside Coppertop?"
<Shiv> "But I don't want to wreck this new arm. I just got it."
<Vigilant_GM> "I assure you I can. Take long enough, and I will!" He emphasizes the last word.
<Uriel> "We must hurry." Uriel says, looking around axiously for another sniper
<Baird> "That arm is shit Shiv. Maybe if we make Rokko happy we can get you a fancy one. Lets go." Moving from out from behind the vehicle Baird moves towards the front gate of the surrounding gate staying close to the wall."
* Uriel follows behind Baird, sword ready.
* Shiv sighs and leaves his hiding spot.
* Karpath moves up with Baird, as he walks he has a slight limp in his new leg.
* Nomad follows along
* Nomad is now known as Nitrous
<Vigilant_GM> The rusted, and bent metal gate shows the signs of neglect, and repeated forced entry, as the bars bend and crack along its length. Of interest, however, is that it does not appear to be locked - a chain on the floor that would have secured it appears recently cut.
* Shiv picks up the chain and says "Might be useful later."
* Uriel Squares up and surges through the gate, stooping to avoid unseen fire and muttering prayers of protections from the battle lord
<Baird> Pistols raised Baird follows Uriel through the gate.
* Nitrous pulls out his shotgun and follows through
<Vigilant_GM> The gate struggles to move, a low grumbling metallic ring echoing throughout the courtyard before the chapel as it swings open.
* Karpath has his Hand Cannon at the ready and follows Baird in.
<Vigilant_GM> Otherwise, the silence is unnerving.
* Shiv pulls out his las pistol.
<Karpath> "Well I was expecting like more people."
<Baird> Sidling along the wall scanning for threats Baird moves along the inside of the wall getting as close as he can to the chapel door.
* Uriel hugs the courtyard wall as he moves to the double doors, pushing one open and slipping in
<Baird> "I wouldn't bunch up. Never know if they've got explosives."
* Karpath follows, making sure to hug the wall as best as he can.
* Nitrous follows the group
<Vigilant_GM> As soon as Uriel pushes the door open, a large bulking ganger swings a massive chain-axe with both his arms. Uriel, however, is able to angle his own blade for a parry at the last second.
* Uriel Pushes back against the axe and goes for a quick low slash, but the Brute just dodges it
* Nitrous moves up and to get a better view of the fight and waits patiently for a better opportunity
<Vigilant_GM> A lowly thug shoves the other door open, and fires at Baird!
* Uriel Both Uriel and the axe-wielding brute exchange a flurry of blows, Uriel attempts a reposte but misses and both men unengage and begin ciricling
* Karpath sees the guy that exited the building and shot at Baird, he then aims his Hand Cannon and opens fire, the thug though is able to dodge out of the way.
<Vigilant_GM> From above, a lithe figure in hive leathers drops, a lethal professional striking against Shiv without warning!
* Shiv braces his las pistol with both hands. He fires at his attacker and misses completely.
* Baird raises his bolt pistol firing a semi-auto burst at the thug that attempted to shoot him, destroying his lower abdomen and spraying his guts onto the front area of the chapel.
<Baird> Turning and firing his hand cannon at the Thug assailing Shiv Baird misses, the shot going wide.
* Nitrous takes a shot at Shiv's assailant and misses
* Uriel lunges forward and delivers a sweeping chop to the man's torso, cleaving through the man's armour. He kicks back against the man to dislodge his sword and resumes his stance "Surrender to the will of the Battle Lord or face futher suffering."
<Vigilant_GM> A low grunt is followed by the ganger dropping to his knees, looking down at his wound. Whether intended or not, it is the sight of a warrior submitting to another. Dropping his chain-axe in front of Uriel, the surrender is formalized.
* Karpath turns to see the small thing attacking Shiv, he turns to charge it but his leg gives out and he does make it all the way.
<Vigilant_GM> The melee expert attempts to slash at Karpath in anger, yet he is unable to do so.
* Shiv starts screaming and fires fanatically at the thug.
<Baird> Raising his Bolt Pistol and firing another semi-auto burst into the thug still assailing Shiv one bolt going wide but the other striking true and turning the thug's arm into a grisly stump killing him.
* Shiv pulls out the medikit and patches himself.
<Shiv> "That SUCKED!"
<Karpath> "Tell me about it."
<Shiv> "Did you get stabbed?"
<Vigilant_GM> "And just what is it you thought you might accomplish here, Copperdome?" a voice echoes from within the chapel.
* Uriel slides the axe away with his leg, then pushes the man farther down onto the ground and locks his arms behind his back with handcuffs
<Baird> "It's worked out better so far than the mansion did."
<Shiv> "With me bleeding? I am hurt, bread man."
* Karpath looks towards the chapel. He moves up, picking up the Chain Axe on the ground.
* Uriel Puts his plated boot against the mans back and shifts his weight onto it." Exactly how many men are in this chapel and where are the positioned, if you cooperate your soul will be spared."
<Vigilant_GM> "Orek..." he breathes heavily, "Orek and his boys."
<Uriel> "How many?"
<Vigilant_GM> For the first time you see the scar line around his face, as he raises his head up to face you.
<Vigilant_GM> "I don't know.
<Vigilant_GM> "
* Uriel stares into the mans face, unable to read any hidden motives he nods and lifts the man to his knees
<Uriel> "Do you repent for your tresspasses against the Battle Lord?" he asks the man calmly
<Vigilant_GM> Confusion forms on his face.
<Vigilant_GM> "Who?"
<Nitrous> "The Emperor of Mankind"
* Uriel brings his blade down on the mans neck, relieving him of his head
* Uriel then stalks towards Karpath and snaches the axe "Keep what you kill." he says, stating a warrior motto of his homeworld
<Karpath> "You know you could of asked for it."
* Uriel ignores the man and heads deeper into the Chapel
* Karpath shrugs and makes his way into the Chapel, his Hand Cannon at the ready.
<Vigilant_GM> The first thing you realize is that all of the windows have been draped over. The chapel interior is lit by the faint glow of candlelight.
<Baird> Readying his pistols Baird follows Karpth further into the chapel
<Vigilant_GM> Your steps echo on every surface of the chapel's broad interior.
<Vigilant_GM> "Like sheep to the slaughter." The same voice fills the chapel.
<Vigilant_GM> Suddenly, out of the overwhelming darkness, men armed with blades and wearing the leathery, dried up faces of past victims charge you!
* Karpath stubbles back getting away from the figure, his eyes wide as he stubbles backwards, below his pants feel wet but that is the least of his worries.
* Nitrous swiftly pulls back and fires a shotgun into the right leg of the dark figure pulping it
<Karpath> One of the men, charges him, he is able to dodge, still shaken he tries to shoot him but his shot misses.
* Shiv fires and misses against his attacker.
<Vigilant_GM> Instead of striking back, Shiv's adversary moves in close, face no more than a feet away, and slowly peels off his face to reveal the gory mess beneath.
* Uriel leaps back from the crazed attacker, then bring his sword down on the mans head, splitting it wide open
* Nitrous takes aim at Shiv's assailant and mulches it's right leg
<Vigilant_GM> The dreadful figure in front of Karpath strikes him on the torso with his blade, to no effect.
* Karpath decides to respond in kind firing on the man with his Hand Cannon, shooting him in the arm.
* Shiv runs and hides behind a statue.
* Uriel runs up behind the last combatant and slashes off the other mans arm
<Baird> "Excellent job everyone."
* Karpath breathes heavily.
<Vigilant_GM> A series of candles is lit by a scrawny, hooded figure in the distance, filling the altar with light.
<Nitrous> "Hrm"
<Uriel> "This smells of heresy." he says, eying the man in robes as he slowly approaches
<Vigilant_GM> On it, a man in flashy clothing and hive leathers, with a belt across his chest holding smaller knives and blades. He, too, wears the face of a fallen foe. Disturbingly, it is powdered white, to fit the white exaggerated wig on his head. Next to him, a large man holding an unwieldy kopesh blade - a bodyguard. They stand, looking in your direction, yet without worry.
<Shiv> "Someone shoot the scary fuckers."
<Vigilant_GM> "You. Warrior." He points at Uriel.
<Uriel> "Speak heretic."
<Vigilant_GM> "Heretic?" he pauses. "Me? You fire upon this...." his arms open to either side, as he looks up, "...holy place."
<Vigilant_GM> "You wield the blade. You understand the art."
<Uriel> "I understand you deface a temple to the Battle Lord, this is unforgivable."
<Vigilant_GM> "Defile? You do not understand. We, who wield the blade, are those who celebrate His hol---"  Just above the left brow, his skull implodes as it jerks back violently.
<Nitrous> "Get Fucked"
<Vigilant_GM> His bodyguard lets out a battlecry, and charges forward.
* Uriel charges forward to meet them
<Vigilant_GM> He slashes at Uriel with the massive Khopesh, yet Uriel parries with ease.
* Uriel returns a savage blow against the mans head
* Karpath moves up into cover, getting himself closer to the melee combat.
* Baird moves in closer to the melee to wait for an opening to use his pistols
* Nitrous takes a shot at the bodyguard's leg and injures him
<Vigilant_GM> The leg shatters, and begins to spill oil as it malfunctions.
<Vigilant_GM> Another slash from the Kopesh misses Uriel as the bionic leg's malfunction throws the attacker off balance.
* Uriel steps to the side of the attacker and brings his blade down on the attackers weapon, knocking it out of his hand and scooping it up in one motion
* Karpath pulls out his Auspex Scanner as he looks at the bodyguard, scanning it to see what it is, "What ever that thing is, its a mix of man and machine, not any kind of servitor I've ever encountered before."
<Karpath> "Its grotesque, almost Heretical."
* Karpath takes his pistol and tries to shoot at the thing, his shot misses and hits Uriel, but does nothing.
* Uriel glares at his comrade, angered by his clumsiness
<Baird> Raising his bolt pistol and firing a semi-auto burst into the servitors leg Baird attempts to disable it without undue damage to the majority of the servitor.
<Vigilant_GM> The shot makes the limb explode. The man yells. And he bleeds.
* Uriel picks up the sword to add it to his growing collection
<Vigilant_GM> Copperdome enters, then. "Alright, we need to get outta here!"
<Nitrous> "I assume the merry bunch is coming?"
<Vigilant_GM> Pausing to see your work, he practically jogs up to Uriel. "Hah! Take that you bastard!"
<Vigilant_GM> He take a knee next to the corpse, and reaches into his coat, revealing a glowing plasma pistol.
<Vigilant_GM> "Animal..."
* Shiv scrambles and loots the man at the avatar.
* Baird places the muzzle of his bolt pistol at the base of Copperdome's skull pulling the trigger in a quick semi-auto burst. As Copperdome falls Baird bends down retrieving the plasma pistol.
<Uriel> "Died in the struggle then?"
<Shiv> "You REALLY wanted that pistol, Bread man?"
<Nitrous> "Quite"
<Baird> "It was an unfortunate and regrettable loss."
<Nitrous> "And we never found that plasma pistol"
<Karpath> "It is a shame that he died."
<Baird> "We didn't. No need to equip these gangers better than they already are."
<Shiv> "Anyone wants some knives?"
<Nitrous> "I'll take one"
<Shiv> "Here's 3."
<Nitrous> "Okay"
<Shiv> "So we were possible to get a servitor or something?"
<Karpath> "Well that is assuming that this thing was not the servitor."
* Karpath begins looking to see if he can find the servitor while using his Auspex Scanner to help.
* Nitrous searches for the servitor
<Shiv> "Didn't my late friend here say something leaving?"
<Vigilant_GM> The Acolytes search the chapel, and soon find Rokko's servitor. The Deathskins, in their ignorance, appear to have damaged it in their attempts to operate it. Blades poked and prodded the servitor, incisions were made to find literal "on switches", and even the sort of damage caused by electrical shock are present on its surface.
<Nitrous> "We found it"
* Shiv peeks out the chapel doors.
* Karpath takes a look over the servitor to see how bad the damage is, "Looks like just surface damage, other wise it should just be fine."
* Nitrous takes the grenade launcher and grenades
* Karpath motions for Urial to come over and help with moving the Servitor out of the Chapel.
<Shiv> "COPS!"
<Nitrous> "Shit we need to leave"
<Shiv> "They are at the car."
<Karpath> "Would be funny if its the same ones as before."
<Shiv> "I rather not lose another limb."
<Karpath> "We could talk to them."
* Baird slowly exits the chapel alone with hands raised calling out to the Arbites
<Vigilant_GM> They turn their attention away from the vehicle.
<Vigilant_GM> One, presumably in charge, refocuses their attention to the task. He nonetheless motions for two of the others to accompany him as he approaches Baird.
<Baird> "We got into a firefight with the gang that controls this place. We had no choice but to defend ourselves with extreme prejudice."
<Vigilant_GM> "Right. And just who am I supposed to believe you are?"
<Vigilant_GM> One of his companions charges up a shock baton.
* Shiv hides the plasma pistol 'somewhere'.
<Baird> "An Imperial citizen accompanying an Arbite from offworld. I can call him out if you'd like?"
<Vigilant_GM> The three exchange glances for a moment.
<Vigilant_GM> The one in charge eyes you up and down.
<Vigilant_GM> "Clearly an off-worlder."
<Vigilant_GM> He looks you dead in the eye.
<Vigilant_GM> "I'll bite," he nods.
<Baird> "Nitrous!"
* Nitrous walks calmly towards the three gentlemen
<Nitrous> "Evening"
<Vigilant_GM> The Investigator shoots a piercing glare at you.
<Vigilant_GM> "You are?"
<Nitrous> "Nitrous Timor"
<Vigilant_GM> "Timor."
<Nitrous> "Indeed"
<Vigilant_GM> "Finally found a vehicle to suit your needs?"
<Nitrous> "Yes"
<Vigilant_GM> Now both of his companions ready their service shot-guns.
<Nitrous> "Easy Genltemen"
<Vigilant_GM> "Nitrous Timor, you are under arrest for the theft of Arbites property, the destruction of private upper-hive property, and for the murder of Hans Guljian."
<Vigilant_GM> "Do not resist."
<Nitrous> "My companion has something to show you"
<Nitrous> "Do not shoot"
<Vigilant_GM> The weapons are levied against Baird at that ominous warning.
<Vigilant_GM> The other arbites now approach.
<Baird> Fishing his rosette out from his pocket he cups his palm so that it's shielded from other prying eyes.
<Baird> "You should honestly just forget you saw us gentlemen."
<Vigilant_GM> He turns around, and dismisses his men back to their vehicles. Only he remains standing in front of you.
<Vigilant_GM> Turning back to you, he extends what appears to be a micro-auspex scanner.
<Vigilant_GM> With it, he reads the identifier.
<Vigilant_GM> He looks at the display, places the scanner back on his utility belt, and looks up again - all without a word.
<Vigilant_GM> "Ave Imperator."
<Nitrous> "Ave Imperator"
<Vigilant_GM> Without a word more, he takes his leave, boarding the squad vehicle that brought he and his men to this squalid corner of the underhive.
<Baird> "Appreciate it Arbitrator. Ave Imperator."
<Baird> "Comon out everyone lets get the feth outta here."
<Nitrous> "Indeed."
<Shiv> "What the hell was that Baird?"
* Karpath makes his way out, "Well that was a close one."
* Shiv walks to the courtyard.
<Shiv> "You got some connections, eh?"
* Baird Baird heads to the shotgun seat of the vehicle. "Just a slight misunderstanding with the Arbites but it's all worked out for now. By the way Shiv I'd like my pistol back."
<Shiv> "What pistol?"
<Baird> "Shiv the plasma pistol."
<Shiv> "Oh, right. One sec."
* Shiv pulls on the chain and out comes the pistol.
* Shiv hops into the drive's seat and passes the gun to Baird.
<Shiv> "It might smell funny."
* Karpath makes his way up to the turret seat of the vehicle.
<Baird> "Funny Shivvy." Baird wipes down the pistol with an edge of Shiv's robe.
<Shiv> "I think you made it smell worse."
* Nitrous takes the passenger seat
<Vigilant_GM> Shiv, unfamiliar with the custom build of the vehicle, struggles some in the beginning. The turning radius in particular being hard to get used to, the first turn sees you overturn, and hit the side of the vehicle against a wall, scraping heavily for some ten meters, before proceding normally on the road.
<Shiv> "LIKE A GLOVE!"
<Karpath> "Well I know who's losing an arm." he comments.
<Shiv> "What are you talking about? It was Cooperhead getting shot in the arm."
<Baird> "Well Shiv you better hope he doesn't take back your arm."
<Vigilant_GM> Soon you're back in Brassmen territory. Traffic becomes more dense, and tradesmen exchange goods for scrip.
<Shiv> "We'll blame it on the dead man."
<Shiv> "What's the plan?"
