Do you see this ruler I am holding? The one that's always on my desk even though my job never requires one.

Do you know why I keep this ruler here?

See, a ruler is such a versatile implement. It's very purpose is as a guide. But it can keep much more than just a pencil on

a straight line.

It can be used to keep you in line.

As a corrective instrument, a swat with the broad, flat side makes a satisfying sound and provides a nice little sting.

Turn it on its end, along the edge and we have a far more intense strike.

But the best part is that my ruler seems so innocuous. It can sit openly on my desk with nobody knowing its true purpose.

Nobody but you.

Every time you enter my office you see that ruler. And you are reminded of its purpose. Of your purpose. That you are mine.

Mine to use. Mine to pleasure. And mine to punish. Mine.

Now, since you have been so naughty it is time for you to come into my office.

Close and lock the door.

Sit on the edge of my desk.

Kick your shoes off.

We will start with the sole of your left foot and the flat of the ruler.

And you will count with me.
