  1. Viridian Heart - Feathersteel Daiklaive - Artifact 5
  2.
  3. An unassuming long blade made out of Feathersteel, Viridian Heart's most notable visual feature is that light glints off of it with a greenish tint, casting a faint green shadow on its surroundings, a hint to the secret of its forging.
  4.
  5. Long ago, during the height of the Old Realm, when the hubris of the Exalted was at its peak, one of the Sun's Chosen with more power than sense summoned the Heart of Malfeas into his home, to carve out his heart as a display ornament, the Demon himself banished back to his progenitor from the damage inflicted. Kept preserved by mighty magics, the heart continued its slow beat through the ages, lost in the dust of time and the ruins of its owner's Manse. In the Age of Sorrows, it was rediscovered by an enterprising explorer, who traded it away to renowned smith in exchange for armaments. It is said that this artisan spent years working with its new acquisition, slowly allowing first the blood, and then, as if guided by an outside force, the heart itself into the feathersteel of a new blade. The result was a single long, curved blade that shimmers with the barely restrained fury of the Green Sun.
  6.
  7. For those that are able to tame the blade's fury to wield it in battle, Viridian Heart seems to shed wisps of green fire with every strike. Even mortals may master its fury, though its more esoteric mysteries remain locked from them.

  13. Era: Age of Sorrows

  15.
  16. Evocations of Viridian Heart
  17.
  18. The Infernal Exalted, and those who have been driven from their rightful homes find affinity for Viridian Heart, and are resonant with it, despite it not being composed of a magical material. In the Age of Sorrows, the Solar and Lunar Exalted always qualify, and the Sidereal Exalted, architects of their downfall, never do. The Abyssal and Alchemical Exalted are considered to be dissonant, for the Essence of the Green Sun rejects their essence.
  19.
  20. Driven by fury, Virdian Heart's wrath rises whenever its wielder is placed at a disadvantage in battle. Whenever its wielder is hit by an attack, Viridian Heart gains one point of Fury, to a maximum of (Wielder's Essence) or (Wielder's Essence * 2) if Resonant. Its wielder adds one damage die to any Withering attack made with Viridian Heart, as the sword sparks with green fire. Incapacitating an opponent, however, reduces Viridian Heart's Fury to zero, as the sword's fury is assauged by the defeat of its adversary. Any remaining Fury is lost at the end of the scene, as Viridian Heart settles back into a fiftful rest.
  21.
  22. Against those directly responsible for the bearer's exile, Viridian Heart deals aggravated damage on Decisive attacks.
