  1. [September 3, 2145]
  2. [Russian origin continent]
  3. [Shore along the Bering Sea]
  4.
  5. [Two scrappy-clothed scavenger bots comb along the shores through the thick fog, searching for refuse to re-appropriate]
  6.
  7.
  8. (CAB0053): Anything?
  9.
  10. (TCK3R): No, just more beached food scraps and netting.
  11.
  12. (CAB0053): How about now?
  13.
  14. (TCK3R): No.
  15.
  16. (CAB0053): How about--
  17.
  18. (TCK3R): No! Now shut up and keep searching. There's bound to be at least a small wreck or something--
  19.
  20.
  21. [TCK3R looks up, seeing an enormous beached shape through the fog]
  22.
  23.
  24. (CAB0053): Hey, that's pretty big.
  25.
  26. (TCK3R): I think we just hit the jackpot! Must be one of those beached freighters or something! Get the tools!
  27.
  28. (CAB0053): Okay!
  29.
  30. (TCK3R): Throw them to me!
  31.
  32. (CAB0053): Okay!
  33.
  34.
  35. [CAB0053 throws the tools at TCK3R, knocking him over]
  36.
  37.
  38. (TCK3R): OW! I said throw them TO me, not AT me!
  39.
  40. (CAB0053): Not my fault! The fog did it!
  41.
  42. (TCK3R): Whatever. Let's just get to work on this wreckage and--
  43.
  44.
  45. [Scavenger bots stop in front of the object, looking at at what was not a sea-vessel wreckage, but a beached dead P.E.M.F.]
  46.

  67. [Moscow, Russian origin continent]
  68. [Office of Military Defense]
  69.
  70.
  71. (President Dmitri Kalashnikov): So.... another of the creatures has washed up on our shores.
  72.
  73. (Military Officer): That is correct, sir.
  74.
  75. (President Kalashnikov): And you're SURE no one reported a confirmed P.E.M.F. kill?
  76.
  77. (Military Officer): Yes. The animal was found dead along the shores of the Bering Sea by two scavengers. Here are the photos of it.
  78.
  79.
  80. [Military officer pulls out two photographs of the deceased P.E.M.F. from different angles]
  81.
  82.
  83. (President Kalashnikov): Has the cause of death been identified?
  84.
  85. (Military Officer): We believe so. There is a large gash along the creature's back, and it appears to also be a seared wound. When we found the animal, the wound was still emitting heat, despite having been through cold seawater for what we estimate to be at least a few days.
  86.
  87. (President Kalashnikov): And the cauterized wound. Any identification as to the source?
  88.
  89. (Military Officer): We've found that the cauterization is similar in nature to some of our plasma-based weaponry, though of much higher magnitude and temperature than anything we've created.
  90.
  91. (President Kalashnikov): I see.... so, it attacks both Warmongers and P.E.M.F.s......
  92.
  93. (Military Officer): Sir?
  94.
  95. (President Kalashnikov): Excuse me, but I have a few calls to make.
  96.
  97. (Military Officer): Of course, sir.
  98.
  99. (President Kalashnikov): Oh, and I'd like to request her transfer to the program.
  100.
  101. (Military Officer): Yes, sir.
