<Panda|GM> The call went out, and as per usual, your group answered.
<Panda|GM> Isle Bartolemeo, former residence of the late biomechanical tinker who snapped, was the target of the day.
<Panda|GM> "For every head you can prove you've taken, you'll be compensated. Thousands, not hundreds. Understand?"
<Panda|GM> And you all did.
<Panda|GM> The island was supposedly flush with roaming rogue inventions and it was up to you and other groups like you to take care of them. Kill or capture.
<Panda|GM> The helicopter dropping you off rushed over the beautiful blue ocean which was only starting to glitter from the rising sunlight.
<Panda|GM> When the island appeared, none of you immediately had a response.
<Panda|GM> It was decently sized, nothing so large as an American state or anything, but large enough that walking to one end from the other would take a decent amount of your time.
<Panda|GM> Green canopies enveloped the island in a gentle caress, even as there were spots dotting it representing the 4 cities on the entire plot of land.

<Panda|GM> Though at the Southern edge of the island, you noticed a massive grey and purple contraption.
<Panda|GM> It was high enough to qualify as a skyscraper on its own merits, but appeared to be a sickly and dying tree of some sort. Probably another creation by the tinker.
<Panda|GM> As you drew closer and closer, the pilot leaned over slightly and called out to you all.

<Panda|GM> You could see each individual spot as he pointed them out. The tree, again in the Southernmost corner, surrounded by a cleared plain. The hospital, which was larger than other buildings at a mere 4 stories, with a clear red target sign in the middle of the entire establishment. And the beach at the Westernmost edge, cut through by a sliver that you

<Daydream> Well whatever the majority wants, I am cool with it, just saying that most of the other groups probably also think that the hospital is a great starting place for the big hunt. And I rather move with the cover of the jungle instead of having to secure a whole 4 story building.

<Orator> Orator opens his medpack and sets his book back inside, listening to everyone's arguments. He closes the pack and replaces it. It really irks him when the team gets like this... as he silently weighs the options, Orator looks out the window to examine the three landing sites. Keeping the facede he wears so much as a mercenary, he focuses on the three sites. He was always more attnetive when the mercenary life wasn't distracting

<Orator> Orator has seen this before. The team argues for a while and butts heads before finally reaching the consensus most of the group was agreeing on anyway. Well, not today. Today they had a chance to make thousands, and this pointless bickering was just burning money as far as he was concerned. He thinks for a couple more seconds, then leans towards the pilot.
<Orator> "Just set us down on the beach."

<Orator> Orator smiles, pleased with the end to the bickering, and pulls out his book again. He doesn't put it down, or even look up, until they land.

<Zero|Jaczac> Zero finishes his rant and begins to take apart and reassemble his trusty M9, then readies himself when they do touch down.||

<Panda|GM> Sand and dust plumes high into the air as the helicopter settles down on a reasonably solid area of the beach.
<Panda|GM> As the rotors die down, you all observe a decently sized area cleared with only sand and dirt around. A few meters to the left of the helicopter is the ocean and a few meters ahead of the helicopter is the beginning of a river.
<Panda|GM> Surrounding the little fern-gully is the dense set of foliage that you saw from overhead. Each towering tree was close enough to its neighbor that very little light shone through to the ground.
<Panda|GM> The rotors finally whined down to a stop even as the minor duststorm continued to cycle around the helicopter.||

<Daydream> Daydream jumps out of the helicopter, looking around the beach and paying close attention to any suspicious movements in the near treeline. Nothing met her eye. ||

<Orator> "Wait here for us. If it goes south, we'll radio in. Have the chopper ready to take off if we call in a code red. If it gets too hairy, lift off without us and find somewhere safe to land. You're not much use if we can't find you, but you're even less use to us dead."
<Orator> He calmly leaves the helicopter and follows his team, closely watching the edge of the forest.

<Daydream> Daydream is busy observing the various different levels of exhaustion of her team members. She will not interfere with their perceptions... yet

<Panda|GM> Daydream is able to see their exhaustion in terms of how bright each individual is. She mentally scaled it as numbers from 1 to 6. With 6 indicating that they needed to sleep immediately. None of her teammates were over 3 at this point, luckily. She herself was at a decent 2.||
<BenGreen> "So what's the plan here, gents? We gonna just walk up there, with all that shit above us?
<BenGreen> "I'd say Knight can take point, for obvious reasons. I'll take right wing, Zero can take left, Daisy and Orator can stay in the middle, and Albie can follow us lot."

<Orator> "We go in quiet, following the river. Keep your eyes and ears open," Orator announces quickly. He stays near the middle of the group. "The plan is to get heads and get rich. Don't get dead."

<Panda|GM> It's amazing how much we take something as simple as light for granted.
<Panda|GM> You think that you'll be prepared for a little darkness because the sun is up. Because you know what the dark is like after several decades of life. Because it can't be /that/ bad.
<Panda|GM> A mere few seconds of walking with the gurgling river to your side is enough to completely and utterly fuck you up for a moment, because it /can't/ be that dark.
<Panda|GM> All of you turn your heads, only to see the light from the entry near the beach is gleaming slightly, the tight squeezes between trees proving to be more daunting than previously realized.
<Panda|GM> Edging closer to the riverbank, you find it easier to travel without having to dodge trees every five seconds, but you still have to keep a relatively tight formation.
<Panda|GM> With trees looming over your every movement and the river only a few feet from your westernmost flanker- Green- it makes for an overwhelmingly oppressive atmosphere. One only slightly alleviated by the obliviously cheerful babbling of the riverwater, since none of you decided to say a word in the several minutes you've traveled in the nearly palpab

<Orator> Orator is getting more and more uncomfortable with the darkness. After a few minutes, he just can't take it. To hell with stealth, they could barely see anything.

<Orator> Orator grunts and turns off his light when Knight lights the flare. He lets his eyes adjust to the ambient light source instead of the beam.

<Panda|GM> Orator has only enough time to yelp as he feels a sudden pressure from his ankle to his knee and is yanked high over the river until he smashes into the branches of the the trees overhead.
