  1. I'm a huge Hinata fan and I know that you probably don't wanna hear shit coming from a biased fan but please hear me out, I'll try not to be biased but simply in a way "defend" her character. I recognize It's possible that they will not touch this character ever again in terms of development but I will not avert my eyes from the possibility that they will. Yes, I am aware that you do not care for the character but at the same to do not hate her. I just want you to read this in order to get where an actual sane Hinata fan his coming from. Of course, I acknowledge faults in the writing but I just want to just get this off my chest.
  2.
  3. Her obsession with Naruto is more than what people realize. She was the ONLY person who idolized him at a time where individuals wouldn't even look his way. Her feelings for him weren't like every other female in the series (which were typically composed of looks and how "cool" the individual was) That's one reason she grew from just being a side character and blossomed to be a fan favorite. https://i.imgur.com/bG8x0DJ.png
  4.
  5. One thing people mention is that she did not care for her clan or being a ninja. She did, she is an individual that was just deemed not suited for the job. She even hated herself for it. She WISHED and DESIRED to be different, to be better. Another reason why she idolized Naruto. https://i.imgur.com/ScKEs8Y.png
  6.
  7. At a young age, she had no say on what decisions were made. It's not like she didn't care, her father basically disowned her. Individuals will feel bad/remember any other character that goes through traumatic experiences but for some reason, not her. https://i.imgur.com/yDsflxi.png

  9.
  10. Even whilst dwelling in the womb, Hinata was brought into the world with a shitload of expectations and responsibilities stemming from the Hyuga’s hereditary lineage. It’s not like she even had a choice for herself. She gets tossed away and degraded for being who she really is: someone who is kindhearted, gentle, and soft…which are depicted as weaknesses through the eyes of the clan. Someone like Neji was easily able to detect this and her insecurities along with that. https://i.imgur.com/IZwBLN3.png
  11.
  12. Her own cousin despised her…for reasons way beyond her control. So not only is she deemed a disappointment regarding the title as heir… but she’s being held accountable for her father’s title as well…and the fact that he is also the firstborn over his twin brother. This is also validated through the fact that Neji’s dad was ordered and obligated to give up his life in means to ensure the safety of Hinata’s father.
  13.
  14. In the chunin exams you can clearly witness Neji crushing her spirit and belittling every ounce of her purpose for even attempting to be a ninja; every ounce of effort she puts into advancing the betterment of herself.
  15.
  16. Not only does he speak so carelessly about her feelings… but uses his byakugan to strip off every ounce of dignity that she could possibly muster and stigmatizes her through her own sense of inferiority and self-loath. He demeans her through the existence of her own flaws by visually ridiculing her personal thoughts, ambitions, and behaviors.
  17.
  18. He refuses to acknowledge her commitment as a ninja…and tells her to forfeit not only the match…not only her title as a kunoichi…but her overall will to change into a stronger and more qualified individual.
  19.
  20. All of this transpired just because of the fact that she was born into the main branch. It’s not like she had the prerogative to choose what branch to be born in…nor the order of birth between her father and uncle. Nor should she be held accountable for his father’s death.
  21.
  22. It’s sad because she is also resented for her nature…when she pretty much resents herself. She resents herself for not setting a leading example, for not meeting her clan’s expectations, for not being good enough, for potentially burdening those around her, for being a failure, etc.
  23.
  24. But it's not all bad because this goofball exists https://i.imgur.com/OLFGarN.png
  25.
  26. Somewhere in her screwed up life exists a person who ignites her confidence and fearless determination..someone who gives her a reason to actually believe in herself and to not allow the evils and unfairness within the world to deter her from achieving her goals. Somewhere in her fucked up life…there’s a person that actually uplifts her from her flaws and inspires her to be the best version of herself.

  29. https://i.imgur.com/nZPAV9T.png
  30.
  31. …and people hate her for it… For being obsessed with someone whom she is strengthened by… Someone who exemplifies the strength she’s dreamed of obtaining for herself since she was a child.
  32.
  33. This is why I firmly believe that Hinata’s feelings for Naruto are completely understandable. Out of many characters in the series, I honestly believe that she has the MOST legitimate reasoning for having an obsession for another individual.
  34.
  35. But she wasn't completely blind. Hinata was willing to stop chasing Naruto, especially in order to save her sister and the world. She put aside the idolizing passion that everyone criticizes her for and made an obvious shinobi decision that people never EVER give her props for https://i.imgur.com/mzW4eYd.jpg
  36.
  37. The genjutsu case in the last actually surprises me to how much fans don't just realize that it was a type of symbolism for Naruto to recall events of the past. The epiphany of his realization is separate from what the genjutsu's motives were. That's all I can really say to that. If you want to paint that scene in a negative light then fine. Could it have been written better? Sure. But that does not constitute anything imo. That scene seems more subjective.
  38.
  39.
  40. Hinata also does not win fights because oh idk, she's a side character always up against major antagonists at the time that give even the main protagonist high difficulty. But that's not what Hinata is about 100%, she's not about whooping ass and taking names all day. If someone can't think about what her character truly represents, they might want to watch the series again.
  41.
  42. People also mention, if Naruto is not involved, she literally does not care, I don't really think so. There are many instances but I'll reaffirm what happened in the last. She sacrifices her love for him and agrees to marry Toneri in an effort to save both her sister and the world from impending destruction. Not to mention, she accuses herself of being a bad big sister whilst knitting Naruto a scarf and not being able to do anything on her own to save Hanabi. https://i.imgur.com/yNg2kr8.png
  43.
  44. Another time was when she chooses not to outwardly cheer for Naruto but takes in consideration the feelings of her teammate when they fought each other. https://i.imgur.com/I2ZtZXe.png
  45.
  46. Now the reason I'm writing this to you is this, I feel like people have "forgotten" about this character. I don't mean literally.....but I mean like her harsh past and lore. This could be because the writers have pretty much placed her on the shelf for a long time or the fact that in the main series she hardly got screen/panel time. You have an amazing platform, youtube, along with a healthy amount of subscribers and views plus amazing speaking skills. It's not my job to tell you what to do but I hope you consider making a video about this. You can take whatever you want from here word for word I don't care, no need to give credit. I just feel like people need to be reminded of this character. You don't have to put any of your personal feelings into it, but as the 1st lady of Konoha (Hokage's wife) I think you should remind people of some of this stuff. Individuals are sayings things about her that just don't hold true because of their lack of knowledge.
  47.
  48. Like I said, I understand the faults. They could have made her do other reasonable things in her anime/manga screen/panel times. Which she barely got any of. Not to mention shounen is not mainly focused on romance, if individuals want to watch/read romance anime/manga, they should hit that genre tab more carefully.
  49.
  50. I just would like you to remind people why this character was so interesting and was rooted for in the first place. I don't know what you would title this or what video series you would add this to in your playlists, but I really hope you consider it. You possibly even add things like how they omitted the Hyuuga part in the Naruto and Himawari episode. I believe Hinata fights Hanabi and wins. Giving testament to how strong she still is, though the scene doesn't seem to be 100% serious as I believe they were in bathrobes.....sigh....poor Hyugas
  51.
  52. Anyways. I hope I don't come off as whiny or annoying. I truly just want people to understand and remember certain aspects of this character. Hope you the best of luck on rest of your videos Eternal (Ξ`。´Ξ)
