- >"And now, the most gracious hosts who allowed this event to occur, are our beloved rulers, please welcome Princess Celestia and Princess Luna!" - Shouted the announcer.
- >The rather large crowd gathered at the center courtyard looked above the castle walls where at a balcony emerged the two regal sisters fro the palace.
- >Everyone was cheering with applause and excitement to meet the royalty, yes, everyone, not just everypony as they say it around here.
- >You are Anonymus, a human being who with others of your kind took refuge in this world called Equestria after the wars in your world became a threat to the very planet you lived on.
- --- 2 years before the event ---
- >You were sitting at home, chugging down some of your last beers, while listening to the grim news of what might have been the beginning of a natural catastrophe caused by nuclear detonations.
- >You were almost sure that you are not gonna see another sunrise after tonight.
- >The news broadcast was suddenly cut short, you sat in your armchair as you looked back at all the horrors that have happened around you in these past years of terror and fear.
- >Nearly every one of your friends were called into war and died because of it, thankfully...hah..., you were lucky enough to hide from the institute to take you in by force.
- >Looking back at it, you contemplate maybe it should have been a better idea to go with your friends rather than staying out of it because of your ideals.
- >You would have died much sooner, but you would not have been alone.
- >"No..."
- >To hell with that war, you were not going to die for anyone, even so not for some cause which does not involve you in any way, shape or form.
- >You were never that type of person, a person who would stand blindly next to an idea, a political idea that annihilated your very nation along with the world itself.
- >As you stood up you turned off your television and walked to your window.
- >It was one of those days when the sky was clear even if it was past midnight.
- >"Hmph,...at least I can see the stars for one last time..."
- >As you stand by your wall to look up at the sky filled with stars you glanced up at the Moon.
- >Incredible as ever, shame that it has to bear witness to such horrors, not being able to turn away from all this.
- >It shares the same fate as you, you think.
- >As you loose yourself in your trail of thought, the ground starts to shake slightly.
- >You slowly turn your head away from the sky and look out at the street, only to notice the cars and lights shaking.
- >Then suddenly the earthquake becomes much stronger, suddenly you loose your balance and fall to the ground.
- >A loud crack grabs your attention as you struggle up on your knees to see the concrete street splitting in two right in front of your house.
- >The opening is advancing towards your house.
- >In your shock you move back towards your door leading out of your apartment.
- >When you reach it the wall where you stood by previously collapses as the hole already hit the building´s side.
- >You are with many other people now, who all try to run down the stairs towards the nearest emergency exit.
- >You were all used to this, men, women and children fleeing for their lives but it still mortified you to your bones.
- >As everyone painfully tried to cut in front of others to advance, the walls around the stairwell shattered, alongside the bottom floors in which´s place stood a now seemingly endless deep trench.
- >The people who were not holding onto something were the first to fall down into the pits of darkness, shrieking as they seemed to abandon all hope for survival.
- >Some fell down to smaller cliffs which formed as the ground tore itself apart.
- >You were not as lucky as those people, as you felt the stairs disappear below your feet, and an arm seemed to drag you down by your leg.
- >Someone was holding onto it.
- >It was a seemingly middle aged man, you used to see him come home late at night on most days, he liked to hit the bottle most likely someplace.
- >Not that that was something uncommon.
- >The fear of death was in his eyes as the only thing which separated him from the void and the waking world was your leg.
- >But still.
- >If you would have let him hold onto you any longer you would have shared the same fate as him.
- >Poor fella, but he is only one in millions.
- >You managed to bash your feet against the concrete remains of the wall, directly hitting his palm hanging onto you.
- >He yelled, but he only let yo go the second time you did it.
- >After he felled down, and disappeared into the darkness you managed to grab a better hold of one of the newly formed cliffsides.
- >Those extra hours of working out definetelly helped now to not fall down after 2 minutes, but you weren´t a buff guy or anything, you felt this is all going to end very soon.
- >It was now 15 minutes or so since you were hanging there, you managed to get a quick rest for your arms as you found a spot for your legs to hold your body.
- >The rest was cut short when said rock separated itself from the mx of rubble and earth.
- >Loosing your momentum, your left arm slipped off of the ground, now only your right arm holds onto the cliff.
- >Perhaps it is now time to end this suffering.
- >Falling down into the earth wasn´t the death you always imagined, but it was the only option now.
- >Struggling to hold onto the ground, you took one last glance around yourself, there were some other people still hanging on to whatever hope they had of getting out of this mess, but most of them already fell down.
- >You closed your eyes to prepare for letting go, when you heared something odd inbetween the yells of fear.
- >It was a woman´s voice.
- >"Hold on just a little longer brave ones, the spell is almost done!"
- >What, who,...?
- >You turned your head around in confusion to search for the source of the sound, you found nothing except the confused faces of the few other remaining survivors.
- >Suddenly a bright blue aura of light appeared out of nowhere somewhere below you in the middle of the pit.
- >It got slightly larger by seconds, however you felt you couldn't hold onto the ground anymore.
- >Your hand suddenly slipped.
- >As you grasped ahead to grab something to hold onto, you fell right ahead at the bright blue orb.
- >You shielded your eyes with your arms as you fell right past the orb.
- >Now it was getting further, and further away, getting smaller and smaller as you ventured downwards into the earth.
- >You were now contempt with your end.
- >Whatever that thing was, may it be another weapon of sorts, now it was the time.
- >The time for you to join your friends.
- >At least you will get to have a drink with them again.
- >...Well you are hoping the place you will be at has beer for spirits.
- >You shut your eyes and prepared for the quick but inevitable death.
- >However it did not come to pass.
- >The feeling of falling down vanished.
- >"...Hah, we have done it sister,..."
- >It´s that woman´s voice again, perhaps this is the realm of the spirits already.
- >"Liutenant, bring in the medical batallion, we have to tend to their wounds as soon as possible."
- >What is going on?
- >Oh right, I forgot to open my eyes.
- >However as you did, the most unusual sight was before you.
- >It seemed like talking horses were going around you and other humans lying on the ground.
- >"...The fuck is this?"
