  1. 1. FOs must have the round type and round dispersion known. Note that at different ranges the round dispersion will be different.
  2. 2. FOs WILL at all times observe rounds first hand. No drones or air assets will be used for observing rounds.
  3. 3. Danger close fire missions can be requested by any ground unit. Note that the fire mission might be denied if the FO does not think the friendly risk is low enough. The same goes for the FDC. If the FDC feels the risk is to high then the FDC has the right to deny the fire mission as it goes with any fire mission.
  4. 4. ALL DANGER CLOSE FIRE MISSIONS WILL GO THROUGH A FO NO QUESTIONS. If a danger close firemission is requested and not passed through a FO the mission will be denied on the spot.
  5. 5. Danger close fire missions can be called up as close as the round dispersion plus 25m for Mortars, 50m for M119s, and 75m for M109s (example: round spread= 20m+25m[mortars]=45m)
  6. 6. Danger close fire mission WILL be marked on map along with the closest friendly units. The target marker will use the target designation DC001 through DC999.
  7. 7. If any of this SOP is not followed the mission WILL BE DENIED.
