<Expanse_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
<Expanse_GM> The two signatures racing to intercept the Leviathan's Gluttony close in whilst firing their weapons. The ancient flagship, however, brushes their pathetic attempts aside as it maneuvers to bring its weapons to bear. With the roaring fire of the starboard battery, the Leviathan's Gluttony spits her reply with devastating effect. Seeing the damage caused, Lord-Captain Cato hails the
<Expanse_GM> battered raider's bridge.
<Expanse_GM> "Channels open, Lord-Captain. They have accepted our hail," First-Officer Harrow nods.
<Cato_Artaega> "You will answer my questions - depending on your answers we may let you live."
<Expanse_GM> The holo-display struggles to show the image of a man sitting at his command throne. "Power 'em guns down 'n I'll talk."
<Cato_Artaega> "It seems you don't understand your position, this isn't a negotiation."
<Cato_Artaega> "Close Hailing Frequencies"
<Expanse_GM> Harrow echoes the command, and the lines are closed.
<Expanse_GM> A short while later, there is a bright detonation. The Enginarium begins to call into the bridge - the plasma engines have been sapped of energy.
<Expanse_GM> In the coming moments, the augury tracks the raiders closing to the bow and stern.
<Expanse_GM> "Lord-Captain. We are being hailed."
<Cato_Artaega> "Accept the hail."
<Expanse_GM> "Be reasonable," a low voice calls.
<Expanse_GM> The image appears to be purposefully obstructed. A vague outline alone is visible.
* Cato_Artaega thinking for a moment notices Tyruss' expression and nods towards him.
* Tyruss draws a dataslate from his uniform and walks into view of the holo-display settled on Lord Artaega. "Lord-Captain I have the travel projections for the rest of the ships, the soonest should be here within the hour. My suggestion is to stall for time."
<Cato_Artaega> "Ideally we shall have this matter dealt with before then. That said, try to be aware of when the vox channels are open."
<Expanse_GM> "If you don't value your vessel, then neither will I," he says before turning to one side. "Make your preparations and launch."
* Tyruss bows and backs out of view while apologizing. "Apologies Lord-Captain."
<Expanse_GM> "Last chance, Captain. We both know I will disappear from this place before your allies arrive."
* Cato_Artaega chuckles, "You can hardly say its my last chance without having stated any terms or conditions."
<Expanse_GM> Harrow makes a few adjustments to the holo-displays. Augury is tracking smallcraft exiting both raiders.
<Expanse_GM> "My compatriot was clear. Power down your weapons."
<Cato_Artaega> "Ahh sorry that demand, well I suppose they aren't serving us any purpose where they are positioned right now."
* Cato_Artaega hits mute on his holo display "Don't follow my next order" and then unmutes again "Power down weapons."
<Expanse_GM> "I wasn't born yesterday. Do as you are ordered or see your vessel drift in the Battlegrounds until the end of time."
<Cato_Artaega> "Hey, what about we meet halfway and turn off half of the macro batteries?"
<Expanse_GM> "Amusing."
<Expanse_GM> The channels close.
<Cato_Artaega> "Alright now that farce is over prepare to repel boarders."
<Expanse_GM> Enemy squadrons close in, making for the ship's stern. The Leviathan's Gluttony, however spits back in anger, destroying several of the incoming craft, forcing their formations to disperse and fall back.
<Expanse_GM> With a second concentrated burst from the voidship's turrets, the leech mine is shredded.
<Rey_Lasky> "Mine destroyed Captain."
<Expanse_GM> The Enginarium begins to report on the plasma engines slowly coming back online.
<Expanse_GM> Leviathan's Gluttony fires up its plasma engines and makes a sharp turn to port, bearing its starboard for a devastating broadside.
* Valarian_Stukov moves with haste to the command bridge as he checks the Active Augur Arrays
<Valarian_Stukov> "Confirmed Damaged to the Enemy Augur Arrays."
<Valarian_Stukov> "Praise be Machine Spirit may thy, guide your journey though this battle."
<Expanse_GM> With another devastating broadside, Leviathan's Gluttony hulks the enemy raider, leaving it uselessly adrift.
<Expanse_GM> When the starboard batteries open up, the second raider suffers a number of hits, unpowering several of its components.
<Expanse_GM> With the advantage of still-functioning plasma engines, it limps away beyond effective firing range of Leviathan's Gluttony.
<Cato_Artaega> "They really should of realized they were out classed, if you like you can send them a snide message Lord Commander, that said prepare boarding teams for the one we disabled lets see if we can find out if they were targeting us."
<Cato_Artaega> "Now we know what those mines look like try and look for any more."
<Expanse_GM> "Their bridge appears to be unpowered, Lord-Captain. I believe Master Lasky has delivered the most effective message we could deliver."
<Expanse_GM> Augury sweeps the area, revealing no further signs of mines.
* Cato_Artaega chuckles "Of course, lets get that wreck secured then."
<Expanse_GM> In short order, boarding parties are mustered and launch, intent on securing the wrecked raider.
<Valarian_Stukov> "Lord Captain Artaega, Do you require anything else, today?"
<Cato_Artaega> "Potentially, depends what we find on the two craft."
<Tyruss> "Only life sustainers, crew quarters and a singular cargo bay are powered on the pilgrim vessel Lord Artaega." Tyruss glances up from the readouts from the augur systems.
<Valarian_Stukov> "Very well."
