  1. Tournament
  2.
  3. Wind swept across the grass, a small stoned slowly rolled in chorus with the breeze and it was quite dark, quiet. An hour from now this rectangular lawn of leaves, grass and trees will become a great battlefield for those who wish to compete. Compete in the games.
  4.
  5. Crowds cheers, floodlights blazed, the champions watched, all were going to see today for today marked a new chapter in competitive sport, today created the first champion of the Forma Region. 2 competitors stepped up to the plate, a man of average height with long brown hair and a tiny Primeape sitting on his shoulder and across from him his almost exact opposite - where he had blended in with the crowd she stood out, everything about her radiated oddity and she embraced it. She had deep purple eyes and equally purple hair to match but where the man was accompanied by a Primeape she was followed by a Haunter.
  6.
  7. "Cale, Ilya, GO!" The man shouted, sending forth his Primeape and releasing an Alakazam from its Pokeball. The man was Marshall, he was well-known throughout the lands as a great traveller and one to own the strangest of pokemon. His Primeape was a pygmy; his Alakazam held no spoons. these were but a fraction of what strange pokemon were at his disposal and they were to be shown today, against her-

  9. Lizzy was her name, without a word she released a Beedrill and sent that and her aformentioned Haunter forward to battle. She was a strange trainer, one of kind words but of harsh intent. She looked as if she sought to heal but her true intentions were to harm and so she took up usual residence in the ghost town that is Lavender Town as a nurse in the PokeCenter.

  11. "Ilya don't let that Haunter do anything, stop it before it can even think to move! And Cale, do your thing."
  12. The Tiny Primeape sprung up in the air to meet the Beedrill giving it a quick sucker punch whilst out of the corner of its eye watching the Alakazam shoot a Psychic at the Haunter which in turn seemed to fade, fade into nothing.

  14. The battle was fierce but James wasn't paying attention, he was too busy trying to decide on who to use for the tournament ahead. He was a late-comer to the tournament and barely got in on time for the sign-ups all because unlike other trainers he couldn't just zip through the air on his Pidgeots back, or zip through the seas behind his Lapras - he had to walk. He had his reasons for this strange choice, one being that he rarely associated with anything other than Bug-type Pokemon and so he didn't have anything to fly on or surf on, the other being challenge. He lived for the challenge, everything had to be difficult to be worth having and so most things he did concerning training and Pokemon choices he tried to do in the most challenging way possible - his latest feat being him fighting his way out of a mountain filled with Rock-type Pokemon using just his Volcarona. That's it! He had chosen one of his battlers for today - Mothra the Volcarona. She was the newest to his team, he didn't actually capture her to begin with either but that story can wait for another time right now more pressing things lay ahead - like choosing a second Pokemon.

  16. Five great fighters stood in a line infront of him; Hit his hitmonlee, the nimble fighter was his strongest Pokemon despite not being a Bug-type; Green the Forretress, this behemoth had fought its (and everyone elses) way out of anything and anyone who stood to block it; Heras the Heracross was next, by far the most physically capable in the group although not as technically gifted as Hit it was tough opponent and wielding its Choice Scarf it had a speed only matched by that of Hit as well; next up was Crunch the Cloyster, James himself doesn't even know how he managed to come across this guy. One day he woke up with the Pokeball containing the then Shellder and decided that it would be best in his hands and they had been partners since; last but by no means least there was Chimes the Chimecho. Chimes was in no way, shape or form a battler and you could tell just from looking at him but James kept him around because he reminded him of a simpler time and a time where James knew his place, again that story could wait for another time. He had made his choice, but was it the right one?
