  1. The rain was beginning to pick up outside as the movie finished up. It was the first full night I’d be spending with my new werewolf girlfriend, Celestina. We’d gone out on a few dates and have seemed to hit it off. I couldn’t be happier, but it was a bit irritating that she deemed herself to be the leader and basically treated me like a child. Don’t get me wrong, I like her, it’s just that I want to... feel like I have a say in things.
  2.
  3. “Well that one was a load of shit.” Celestina uttered changing the channel. “Now, I’m choosing what to do next.” She whipped the blanket off of us and got on all fours above me.
  4.
  5. “Whoa, Celestina. What are you doing?” I defensively asked the wolf. She smirked at me, revealing a pair of glistening fangs.
  6.
  7. “I’m gonna fuck the everloving-“ The sounds of thunder outside rang booms throughout the small house, the storm had come earlier than expected. “YAAH!” She exclaimed. Not even a second later, I felt her entire body wrap around me like a fur cocoon. “M-m-make it-it stop!” Her paws were digging into my back, leaving me as stiff as a board due to her arms being clamped around mine.
  8.
  9. “Hey hey, calm down.” I began. Another bolt of lightning struck outside, leaving her in more shock, she was now crying at this point.
  10.
  11. “It’s, too, loud.” She whispered. I rubbed her arms (as best I could) while she cried into my chest.
  12.
  13. “Shh, shh. Please, follow me. It’ll be quieter down in the basement.” She meekly stood up, allowing me to guide her to the stairs, all the while each boom of thunder lead to her being more startled.
  14.
  15. I was essentially giving her a piggyback ride when I reached the bottom of the stairwell.
  16.
  17. The basement was nothing to gawk at; just a few neglected moving boxes, my washer and dryer, and an old couch and blanket that had been replaced months ago.
  18.
  19. “There there, lay down.” I whispered to her as I turned on an old lamp, being surprised it still worked. I was nearly dragged back into the mass of fluff and muscles as the storm picked up outside. She basically looked like a black duster from where I was sitting, but that’s because she was on top of me.
  20.
  21. “Please... keep me safe, Alan.” Celestina spoke again. I cuddled up to her and scratched her ears. She immediately melted into my arms.
  22.
  23. “Celeste.” I began with a nickname. “Nothing is gonna happen. You’re inside with me, the lightning is outside. I know you’re brave and strong... I had to take a day off work after the first time you went down on me.” Ok, I got sidetracked. “Remember that night?” She whimpered, I had no idea if it was a response, but I continued. “We met at Claw’d Café. God I was nervous that day. We hit it off and had a nice dinner, you love their steak. We chatted under the moonlight before you decked that minotaur that whistled at me.” Her heavy breathing slowed down. “You ended up fucking my brains out at your place before bringing me home. Wasn’t the last time that’d happened.” I stopped scratching her ear for one second as I reached into my pocket. A pair of headphones I stuffed in there as we came down. I placed them gently on her ears which were pointed downwards. “How’s that?”
  24.
  25. “T-thanks.” She hugged me tighter as I saw her tail begin to slowly wag back and forth. I grabbed the blanket and covered us both up, it was colder than I thought.
  26.
  27. “Not a problem.” I said.
  28.
  29. We spent the rest of the night cuddling away under the blanket, me sometimes drowning out the thunder with light humming.
  30.
  31. Looking back on the past times with Celestina, I realized maybe being the small one in the group can be charming sometimes.
