<div id="stats">1153. A storm was brewing in Kyoto. Despite the time of the year, rolling clouds of black forestalled any sort of light from above to shine upon the land of the rising sun. For weeks it was dark and murk. The monks had concluded that an evil spirit had come to haunt the capital of the empire, specifically, the Emperor. He was gradually being eaten away by his sickness. <br><br>
It all built up into a stormy night in mid-summer. The rain was pouring hard, washing away the streets with its relentless streams. For once, the dark sky was bright, though it was merely momentary flashes of thunder and lightning. It struck the imperial palace, setting it on fire. The emperor then summoned the legendary samurai Minamoto no Yorimasa, to deal with the evil spirit. Yorimasa brought his trusted companion, I no Hayata, and his legendary bow which he received from Minamoto no Yorimitsu, to hunt down this wicked spirit. <br><br>
The battle was fierce, and it seemed hopeless. The Samurai exchanged arrows with lightning, them piercing through the black clouds as the thunder destroyed the land around him. Though, after a while of a battle, The Samurai struck the beast. It fell. Now powerless, it laid on the ground in its dying state. <br><br>
It had the head of a monkey, the body of a tanuki, and the limbs of a tiger. Though it didn’t move, it’s serpent-like tail danced wildly as it slowly lost its breath. This chimera beast was then known as the legendary yokai, the Nue.<br><br>
Although they were triumphant, the evil spirit’s reign didn’t end there. Night after night the storms only grew, and the illness that tortured the Emperor didn’t subside at all. The monks finally decided to build a shrine, yet that shrine didn’t help at all to cleanse the Nue’s great curse.<br><br>
Ultimately, there was no choice. Gathering the most knowledgeable priests in the kingdom, the Minamoto no Yorimasa decided that the only option to cease all this was to seal the remaining of Nue’s spirit into a suitable infant. Unfortunately, at that moment, the most compatible infant was his own son, still within the womb of his wife. <br><br>
The ceremony was successful, but what became of the boy was a whole other story.

<h1>> PERSONA</h1>
The true form of the Nue has the head of a monkey, the limbs of a tiger, the torso of a tanuki, and the tail of a serpent. These attributes somehow gives him snippets of similar personalities of those certain animals. <br><br>
He is <b>playful</b>, like the monkey, constantly curious when it comes to new people or new environments. He’d have a day just teasing and bothering certain people into the point where they are completely annoyed. This is also the kind of mannerism when he treats his prey/enemies.<br><br>
He is <b>relentless</b> , like the tiger, he doesn’t bow down easily to authority. The only rules that apply to him are his own rules, and he voids other rules as if they didn’t exist. He is also quite <b>territorial</b> and possessive when it comes to his belongings, even more when it comes to the things that he love; though, for him to be attached to something is quite a rare case. <br><br>
Though, he inherited <b>inattentiveness</b> from his tanuki side, easily forgetting some things that isn’t deemed relevant for him. He also is brave, or some might say that he’s <b>reckless</b>. That trait isn’t something that tanukis might have; maybe it’s because these small creatures have relatively large <i>balls…</i><br><br>
He’s also <b>deceptive</b>, like the snake. Lying for him isn’t something morally wrong, as stated before; he has his own set of rules. This part of him is also perhaps why he has the tendency of using poisons.
