  1. from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #711
  2. ------------------------------------
  3. Holy hell the animation is choppy
  4. ---
  5. Yeah, just like the previous episode, the animation quality is all over the place from scene to scene. Some scenes look fine, other scenes look like they're animated at 10fps
  6. ---
  7. So guns now use Angelic tech in hell. Guess it must be some kind of harness able property, rather than something thats inherit to the weapon (like the idea of sepharic steel or whatever its called here)
  8. ---
  9. holy SHT the animation on Stolas here is like a goddamn storyboard
  10. ---
  11. Oh my god, Stolas was so cute in that opening
  12. ---
  13. Loona is fking useless
  14. ---
  15. summarize the episode for me i can already tell i won't care for this one
  16. -
  17. hillbilly festival shenanigans
  18. moxie/millie focus
  19. more bad animation
  20. -
  21. kind of what i thought it'd be. at least stolas being a brat made me smile in the opening.
  22. -
  23. Also stella hired someone to kill stolas and the hired dude will be a recurring character
  24. ---
  25. This is what I mean when I say the animation is choppy and inconsistent
  26.
  27. Some scenes look like they're animated at like 8fps, while others look fine. I assume they did this to cut costs/time. It looks terrible.
  28. -
  29. Yeah... I thought my browser was playing up. Because it cuts from the fluid 24fps or whatever the regular framerate is right down to practically slideshow quality.
  30. --
  31. Dear God
  32. --
  33. >he doesn't know about animating on fours threes twos and ones
  34. ------------
  35. Wow that ending was terrible. Could've had an actually interesting client for Mr. Evil Cowboy assassin.
  36. -
  37. As soon as he said, 'ma'am', I knew it would be Stella. There's no one else it could have been... Who would you have had for the interesting client, Anon?
  38. -
  39. I don't know, I was just hoping their could've been a little bit of nuance in Stolas's marriage, but now it'll just be a pure black and white morality story with zero depth whatsoever.
  40. -
  41. >now it'll just be a pure black and white morality story with zero depth whatsoever.
  42. >expecting anything else from vivzie
  43. you only have yourself to blame
  44. ---
  45. >There's no one else it could have been
  46. Not him, but it would be funny if it had been Verosica for no reason other than losing the Spring Break contest and showing she's just as petty as Blitzo was with the parking space.
  47. ------
  48. With the recent sharp dropoff in animation quality im starting to find myself wonder why im still watching this sht. And I sure as sht was not attracted to helluva boss because of its humor.
  49. -----------------------------------
  50. That reference is barely subtle.
  51. -
  52. you do know that "harvest moon" existed before the videogame series, yes?
  53. -
  54. No I did not, please enlighten me.
  55. -
  56. h ttps://www.almanac.com/content/what-harvest-moon
  57. if you're not a farmer or live near farmers, then you probably wouldn't know about it
  58. -
  59. I do but i never come out of my house.
  60. ------------------------------------------
  61. Well, Moxxie officially a /k/ faot
  62. -
  63. What do you mean "officially" ? It was already known that he's a weapons specialist.
  64. ------------------------------------------
  65. thats actually gross. how the fk is that ok? it goes from a slideshow and then immediately switches to actual good framerates
  66. -
  67. They spent too much money on guest actors and not enough for animators or writers.
  68. ------------------------
  69. Don't forget that Striker (hired dude) is voiced by fking NORMAN REEDUS.
  70. ------------------------
  71. >no no no no, it's uhhhhhhhhhhh
  72. >he's not my
  73. >uuhhhhhh
  74. >it's a transnational agreement
  75. >yeah
  76. real lol
  77. -----------------------
  78. Its cool, but i wish she better hired some animators instead
  79. ---------------
  80. It was a pretty bad episode overall.
  81.
  82. Octavia doing the little dance at the end was great though
  83. -------------
  84. If I had to compare it to other episodes I'd say it's better than 3 and 4 but worst than the rest.
  85. ------------------------------
  86. This show has officially broken my suspension of disbelief. Unless Stolas is somehow immune to the effects of the magic overlord killing rifle and knows the assassination attempt against him wouldn't work then he may be genuinely retrded. I cannot for the life of me understand how he couldn't pick up on what his wife was saying right in front of him at the dinner table. I can get le wacky randum humor but this sht is going too far.
  87. ------------------------------
  88. I really like this episode.
  89. ------------------------------
  90. 2>5>1>4>powergap>pilot>powergap>3
  91. First time I've actually laughed damn near the whole way through. Still didn't make me care as much as quickly as 2 did for Stolas, but leagues better than the rest of the episodes.
  92. -----------------------------
  93. >helluva has 5 episodes now
  94. >hazbin still only has a pilot
  95. -
  96. Eh Hazbin going on tv and therefore can't be released piecemeal.
  97.
  98. God I hope the animation drop in HB isn't in HH
  99. -
  100. it isn't that bad, come on now
  101. -
  102. Yeah if you find a piece of broken glass in a chocolate cake, you're not thinking about the parts of the cake without broken glass in it. This trend of really choppy animation started around episode 3, but i'd have to say this episode was the worst i've seen so far.
  103. ------------------------------------
  104. >not picking up on Stolas being sneaky and trying to get Blitzo to be his royal body guard again
  105. For real? Are you for FKIN' real? Haha BTCH, Hahahahaha.
  106. ---------------------------------------
  107. i want my wasted time back from watching that sht animation
  108. -
  109. too bad btch you ain't getting it back
  110. -
  111. why it gotta be that way though
  112. -
  113. Biological brains suck yo. In the Futureā„¢ we'll all have synthetic quantum computer processors for brains and we'll be able to delete/modify bad memories at will.
  114. -
  115. finally, I'll be able to erase the memories of cringy sht I did in high school that my brain refuses to forget about
  116. -
  117. gotta learn to accept them
  118. ---------------------------------------
  119. So, Anons, are you on the side of Stolas or on the side of Stella?
  120. -
  121. Stella.
  122. -
  123. stella
  124. -
  125. Stella is a btch, but fk Stolas's adulterous ass. He deserves nothing.
  126. --------------------------------------------
  127. choppy animations won't kill you like a piece of glass in food will
  128. ---------------------------------------------
  129. >Choppy animation? Are you sure you weren't entranced by my devilishly good looks, sxy body, and tall imposing figure? Oh Well. It was worth a spin.
  130. ---------------------------------------------
  131. That fight cost Millie an arm and a leg. Literally.
  132.
  133. You Will Never take care of an injured Millie. You Will Never be M&M's helper.
  134. ----------------------------------------------
  135. finally the definitive best episode so far
  136. ----------------------------------------
  137. This new episode lowkey suked ass bros
  138. -
  139. It highkey suked ass man
  140. -
  141. Yeah honestly it wasn't even lowkey
  142.
  143. I can't even put my finger on it but the whole thing was just kinda disappointing the whole way through
  144. -
  145. >I can't even put my finger on it but the whole thing was just kinda disappointing the whole way through
  146. It was 90% exposition dump and talking-talking-talking, and the climax of the action ended in a "to be continued" plot hook to set up a future episode. It was still better than the last one, but honestly not by much. The elbow-dropping shark was the only real funny joke in the whole thing.
  147. -
  148. It also had no real payoff I felt. The fight scene at the end was neat, but not something that great, and the 'emotional payoff' of Moxxie being accepted by inlaws was absolutely pathetic.
  149. ---
  150. I disagree, I feel like the last episode was better (even if Lyle's backstory was sht and Hazbin's Earth is fking stupid because it's atmospherically no different from Hell)
  151. -
  152. >atmospherically no different from Hell
  153. there's some 2deep4u meta commentary to be made there...
  154. -
  155. And it comes at the cost of making it literally not matter where you set anything. They're the same setting with different coats of paint and makes the mood stale fast.
