- The waves strike the castle walls
- One after the other, crash and maul
- Magnificent though the structure once was
- From sand, to sand, nature's cruel norm
- I am reminded of the palatial halls
- Surrounded by pillars - proud, wise and tall
- They knew of their eventual demise
- But a future far no more than a lie
- My heart blames the unfaithful grains
- Feigning firmness in my hands
- But, would I rather that they stayed
- To one day point the mistakes my hands made
- Far far away though they might be
- Some other castle or the open sea
- And though, they, my hands might never meet
- Will forever lie on that beach of history
