  1. Hello everyone!!
  2.
  3. Because we hit our next Sub Goal (thanks everyone!), we'll be doing a Living Dex speedrun in Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee! on Saturday, 12/22! For those that don't know, a Living Dex is when the player has a copy of every Pokémon (excluding Mythicals) at the same time. This is different than the Diploma run I did last weekend because I actually need to own each Pokémon; I can't catch a Rattata, evolve it to Raticate, and have it count for both. As soon as I decided I liked the idea of this run, all sorts of routing ideas came to mind so I'm really excited to do this one
  4.
  5. Here are the rules for the run:
  6.
  7. - Runs must start from a new file on both Pokémon Let's Go, Eevee! and Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu!
  8. - Games may only be played one at a time. The only time both games can be controlled at the same time is when trading between the two
  9. - This is a personal rule, more to do with my stream setup
  10. - All Pokémon must be owned on one game at the end of the run. The Pokémon owned in the other game is irrelevant
  11. - Timing ends when the game with a Living Dex obtains the Diploma
  12.
  13. And that's it! Here's an FAQ
  14.
  15. Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu!/Eevee! Living Dex Speedrun F.A.Q.
  16.
  17. Q. What are you trying to do?
  18. A. I am trying to complete a Living Dex in Let's Go, Eevee! as fast as I can
  19.
  20. Q. How long is this going to take?
  21. A. I'm not sure! My Solo Catch 'em All (double diploma) run took 11 hours, so I imagine it'll be around there
  22.
  23. Q. Is this 2 Games 1 Controller?
  24. A. No. I'll be switching which game I am playing as I go. A "rule" I am imposing on myself is to never control both games at the same time outside of the trading screen
  25.
  26. Q. Do you have two Switches? How can you trade?
  27. A. I do indeed have two Switches. I'll be trading between the two of them using the local trade function
  28.
  29. Q. This is awesome!
  30. A. I know
  31.
  32. Q. How many trades are there?
  33. A. Not too many! My route catches very few Pokémon in Let's Go, Pikachu! so not much trading is needed
  34.
  35. Q. What are the trouble Pokémon?
  36. A. Honestly, there aren't really any trouble ones. The biggest hurdles are going to be the rare ones (Pinsir, Scyther, Mr. Mime, Kangaskhan, Dratini). There's really no grinding that is needed as the game gives us a lot of things that help with that, mainly mandatory EXP Share
  37.
  38. Q. What do the colors on the PokéDex Counter mean?
  39. A. Here are what all of the colors mean:
  40. White - I do not own this Pokémon
  41. Blue - I can safely evolve into this Pokémon
  42. Black - I own this Pokémon
  43. Red - I own this Pokémon and need to keep it in mind for some reason. I may or may not actually use this
  44.
  45. Q. When does time end?
  46. A. Timing is going to be the same as 150 Co-Op in Generation 1. Time ends with both games have the diploma on screen
