  1. [18:14] Grendel Beo says, "Hmm... Perhaps, I should step in as well."
  2. [18:14] Ra Helios says, "I can spar you next."
  3. [18:14] Sieghart Vaulkyr asks, "Looking for a round next, Big guy?"
  4. [18:16] Grendel Beo says, "*Coughs*. Possibly. Letting you fight our young ones like this, and defeating them in part thanks to age? Makes me want to set the balance a bit."
  5. [18:16] Ra Helios says, "I don't mind fighting adults."
  6. [18:16] Ra Helios says, "Though, I can see why I focus on medicine."
  7. [18:16] Ra Helios says, "I'm not that strong."
  8. [18:17] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "I'd say you're pretty strong, you get me close."
  9. [18:18] Ra looks towards Grendel.
  10. (Ra Helios)
  11.
  12.
  13. [18:18] Ra Helios asks, "Can I spar you once?"
  14. [18:19] Grendel Beo says, "Hmm... Sure, after I'll have a round with Sieg."
  15. [18:19] Ra Helios says, "Alright, let's go while I'm warmed up."
  16. [18:19] Grendel Beo says, "-Ah, you want to fight first. Okay then."
  17. [18:19] Ra Helios exclaims, "Yup!"
  18. [18:23] Grendel Beo says, "Hmm... You got potential. The way you fight reminds me of someone else."
  19. [18:23] Ra Helios asks, "Reminds you of who?"
  20. [18:23] Grendel Beo asks, "A woman named Oboro. Similar magic, I believe?"
  21. [18:27] Grendel Beo says, "All right, I believe this settles that, for now."
  22. [18:28] Ra Helios says, "Mhm."
  23. [18:28] Grendel Beo asks, "Are you ready, Seighart?"
  24. [18:34] Sieghart sat and resumed his previous meditation, working at focusing the flow of his mana more intensely than before. This time, there was no blue outline, but waves of pressure seemed to emit from Sieg as he concentrated. It seemed he was getting better at keeping the focus on his circuits, rather than external mana, considering he had no outline this time.
  25.
  26. Soon enough though, the large man with the horned helmet and axe seemed to finish his spar. As he called for Sieg, Sieg stepped onto the field without a word for the moment. It was probably a bit strange, Sieg's already quiet demeanor seemed to get quieter and more serious.
  27.
  28. Drawing his blade, Sieghart's aura burst from his being once again. Taking his Ifrit stance, he prepared for battle. He wondered, should he even try his new technique in this battle? He knew, Grendel would be an even match for him, if not a bit stronger.
  29.
  30. Looks like he would have to cross that bridge when he came to it. Fornow, he nodded, asking one more thing before they would begin. "I already know this will be a worthy fight, so tell me your name, big guy, and then come at me with all you've got."
  31. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  32.
  33.
  34. [18:39] In preparation for the fight, Grendel takes ahold of his axe...
  35.
  36. And with it's blade, would give him a light cut across the arm, straight through one of the black dots across his skin "-Ah, right. Don't be alarmed, this is how I have nature help me in a fight."
  37.
  38. The giant of a man explains, extending his arms to let it drip down his own blood on the ground below, feeding the grass and and plantlife nearby.
  39.
  40. Soon, the sound of the earth cracking can be heard beneath him, as vines begin to sprout out of the ground, growing larget and larger as they surround the towering man that is Grendel!
  41.
  42. However, there seems to be a notable difference this time around- Which, if it wasn't obvious enough to some, Grendel himself turns up to look, finding himself distracted instead of turning into the fight.
  43.
  44. Roses- Not in red color like before when he gave away most of his blood, but... Colored, blue.
  45.
  46. "Huh... How did that-" His question is interrupted by a sudden cough- And with that, the answer, that dawns upon him quickly.
  47.
  48. He... Didn't realize it yet, since he couldn't fight before in his current condition, with the disease that has been inflicted upon him not long before the war for the village. But now that he can stand up now that he started to recover from it?
  49. He may be able to stand up and fight, but his blood is still tainted with the disease. Hence, the possible explaination for the different in the rose's color.
  50.
  51. "Hmm... Interesting."
  52. With that moment of realization done, he'll then turn towards Sieghart.
  53. "-Ah, right, my mind was focused on something else for a moment." Letting out another cough, he'll speak up, saying his own name:
  54.
  55. "Grendel Beo. Show me everything you got, if you claim to be a hunter."
  56. (Grendel Beo)
  57.
  58.
  59. [19:00] At first, it seems that thanks in no small part to Grendel's own sickness, he was at the clear disadvantage, being pushed by Sieghart's assault of pure energy, finding himself on the defensive, holding on just to survive- Trying to block most of the attacks he can with his axe, without much success, to the point he finds himself on his back!
  60.
  61. However? To defend Grendel, nature itself reacted, and all it took? Was a single petal.
  62.
  63. From one of the roses upon the vines, one petal found itself stuck to Seighart's Achilles tendon. The cut itself does not hurt by much, but then the sting comes- A venomous, poisonous secretion coming out from the petal, finding its way into Sieghart's bloodstream.
  64.
  65. This, was enough to turn the tide. As Sieghart would feel the burning sensation across his leg, Grendel took the chance to get up, striking once more!
  66.
  67. Now, Grendel got on the offensive instead, and with him? The vines, striking in tow. As the vines strike, more petals would find themselves latching on the swordsman's frame, spreading more venom.
  68.
  69. And as the fight went on? So too, would the advantage be pulled further and further into the giant's man favor, until finally?
  70.
  71. With a shove of his blunt axe towards Sieghart's stomatch, he'll make him fall down to the plantlife below, now covered in petals.
  72.
  73. "Ah... Ah... You gave me quite the challenge.-" Grendel holds his mouth with one hand as he coughs.
  74.
  75. "... Good fight." And with that, the spar would conclude, with Grendel reaching a hand towards Sieghart, to help him get back up.
  76. (Grendel Beo)
  77.
  78.
  79. [19:08] {Item} You picked up Jerky. Dropped by Ra Helios. .
  80. [19:35] Sieghart was a bit surprised as Grendel seemed to be able to manipulate Nature, and moved quite a bit faster than Sieg had expected him to. Sieg saw no matter in this though, charging forth as the battle would begin. Prepared to give it all he had, Sieg clashed with Grendel with immense force, even leaving a small crater in the ground under them.
  81.
  82. It was clear that even if Sieg wasn't quite as big and buff as Grendel, but he still had the dense muscles in his lean body and the resolve to match Grendel's blows. Sieghart even began to fight with more intensity as his irises once again glowed blue. Something did seem a bit off though, It felt like Grendel's strength was diminishing shortly into the spar.
  83.
  84. Sieg didn't know what was up with that, but he decided to put an end to this bout. Charging in with a flurry of blows, Sieghart finished the combination with a beam of energy, managing to put Grendel on his back. Just when he thought it was over though, Sieg felt a prick to the back of his ankle.
  85.
  86. Some sort of petal had just lodged in his Achilles tendon, and he quickly felt himself beginning to feel disoriented. 'Nature magic is capable of poison, I never even thought of that.' Sieghart thought to himself as Grendel returned to his feet and even began to command his vines as Sieghart charged in once again.
  87.
  88. As Sieg now clashed with Grendel again, they exchanged blows, all the while Sieg also had to fend off vines, which would seem to lodge more venomous petals into him. Sieghart was giving it all he had, but this venom was taking more and more of an effect on him, as his vision had even started to blur. He had to end this now, or he was going to lose.
  89.
  90. Grendel had seemed to have quite a bit more fortitude than him at the moment though, considering he was poisoned. There was only one way Sieg saw to end this, with his most powerful attack. He wasn't even sure if he could pull it off in this state, but he had to try.
  91.
  92. Blocking a blow from Grendel, Sieg jumped back while he focused and condensed as much mana as he could into his offhand. A bright orb of energy then formed in his palm and spun at intense speeds. Sieghart actually seemed to vocalize a bit as Grendel drew closer to him, struggling to charge his attack.
  93.
  94. "GrrrrrAHHH" Sieghart finally managed it, he fully charged and released the orb with one hand and unleashed it towards Grendel. Feeding more mana into the blast he smiled as he thought he had this battle won, but his vision had been more distorted from poison than he had previously thought. The blast completely missed Grendel, going right by the side of him though. If one even took a moment to look or feel the mana of the blast though, it was definitely immensely powerful, and Sieghart had pulled it off in a poisoned state. However, the attack completely missed and the end of the pole of Grendel's axe was shoved into his gut.
  95.
  96. Sieghart stumbled back, attempting to stay on his feet, but it seemed the poison had taken even more effect. Falling back, and onto the ground, he'd lost this battle. Grendel approached Sieg to offer a hand up, but Sieg grabbed the other's wrist and gestured it back to his side.
  97.
  98. Slowly pulling petal after petal out of him, Sieghart slowly rose to his feet on his own, multiple shallow cuts all over his body from pulling the petals out. With the final petal, the one in his Achilles, Sieg pulled it out. For a moment, Sieghart then seemed to focus as his energy aura ramped in intensity as he exerted what mana he had left to do what he had been doing. Slowly, discolored blood flowed from his wounds until he stopped, and so did the bleeding. It had seemed, Sieg had used his mana circuits and flowed mana throughout them to force himself to bleed, since the bloodstream was close with the mana circuits.
  99.
  100. "No disrespect Grendel, but a warrior returns to his feet on hisown, even after losing." Sieghart seemed a bit less woozy now, he had bled a good deal of the poison out, and he would just have to let his body detoxify the rest. It seemed Sieg had perfected his new technique, but this was only one of the many obstacles he had to overcome. If he wanted to lead a guild, he would have to be much stronger.
  101.
  102. "Thanks for the fight Grendel, I think I will rest now though." Sieghart still slightly stumbled, sitting up against a tree and resting himself for now. He nearly seemed to be sleeping once he allowed himself to rest, just barely sitting up and seeming to meditate.
  103. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  104.
  105.
  106. [19:49] Grendel's extended hand denied, he'll simply nod as he puts his axe back behind him.
  107. As Sieghart begins pulling out the blue petals, Grendel would finally notice what exactly those roses can do- With Sieghart's blood now discolored, Grendel can get a proper guess as to the reason-
  108.
  109. Venom, one that is meant to target one's own cells. The discoloration of the blood? Is due to the venom targeting and killing the blood cells themselves, making the blood lose it's red color.
  110.
  111. "... Huh... Heh."
  112. The giant of a man couldn't help but scoff, actually letting out a chuckle as he sees this.
  113. Turning his head to the sides, he'll look towards the vines. Their job now done, they begin to wither away, to be absorbed by the plantlife around them.
  114.
  115. The blue roses, meanwhile? They shrivel first, leaking out the toxicity, the venom out of the petals before breaking out of the rose's bud, falling down and flown away in the wind.
  116.
  117. "Cruelty of nature, huh?"
  118. He says, lightly smiling. It is a concept that he has known to accept, after all. Even terrible things like the diseases and plagues have a place in nature after all- A lesson he has learned through many questions asked, and the answers that he have found.
  119.
  120. "You might want to rest for a while-" He coughts lightly.
  121.
  122. "I can tell the after affects of venom when I see one. You'll need to let your body restore your blood."
  123. (Grendel Beo)
  124.
  125.
  126. [19:59] Sieghart sat an rested his body, allowing his wounds to close and his blood cells beginning to restore themselves. Sieg only chuckled as Grendel mentioned the cruelty of nature. As he was warned to get some rest, Sieg nodded with sincerity.
  127.
  128. "I know, trust me my body will get some rest and rid itself of this poison. I must say though, I would have never guessed Nature magic would be your magic of choice. As a Hunter, I know Nature is something quite chaotic and cruel, after all, just about everything is a part of nature, even death and decomposition. To control nature, that's something else entirely, and I would have guessed it was that powerful."
  129.
  130.
  131. Sieghart complimented Grendel on his magics, giving a light smile. "I myself can only materialize raw mana. I'm only really good at harnessing my own resolve in my soul to summon up my power, so my power comes out as pure, raw mana. It's not something nasty like nature, but it is a very head-on, very strong magic, which I'm sure you know from experience now."
  132. (Sieghart Vaulkyr)
  133.
  134.
  135. [20:00] Vargas Beoulve whispers something.
  136. [20:01] Grendel Beo asks, "You didn't expect me to use nature magic? How come?"
  137. [20:02] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "I honestly thought you would be more of an earth and rock kind of guy, well more than you already are."
  138. [20:02] Grendel Beo says, "Hmm... It is true, I can manipulate earth to a certain extent, though it is simply another way for me to have nature itself work with me."
  139. [20:03] Grendel Beo says, "Even the lanscape is part of nature, if you think about it from a certain way."
  140. [20:03] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "Well yeah, Dirt is decomposed rock and dead things."
  141. [20:05] Grendel Beo says, "Correct."
  142. [20:06] Grendel Beo says, "Life and death. There's a balance to them. A balance that I'm still striving to learn, in a way."
  143. [20:06] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "I've read in old story books that when the life and death in the world gets out of balance, terrible things happen."
  144. [20:06] Grendel Beo says, "I... Have come to the conclusion that this balance is ever shifting, never truely in one place. It is a concept that can be hard to accept for some, but I have grown to belief in it."
  145. [20:07] Grendel Beo says, "So true, some things may go extinct, but there will always be something else to take its place."
  146. [20:07] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "True, the balance is constantly shifting, but if it shifts too much one way, it is no longer a balanced scale."
  147. [20:08] Grendel Beo says, "A balanced scale, huh? An interesting phrase. Yet, I think that nature's scale, would eventually balance itself, even if the worst comes to pass."
  148. [20:09] Grendel Beo says, "-But, I am open to the idea that I may be proven wrong one day, and when that day comes? I'll be ready."
  149. [20:10] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "Hmm, hopefully that day doesn't come too soon."
  150. [20:11] Grendel Beo says, "I hope so too, but it is best to be ready at- *Coughs*"
  151. [20:11] Sieghart Vaulkyr asks, "all times, were you going to say?"
  152. [20:12] Grendel Beo says, "Yes."
  153. [20:12] Grendel Beo says, "I should head back to the village. It seems that this battle has taken a greater toll over me than I thought."
  154. [20:12] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "It better have, I gave that my all, even though my most powerful technique missed you."
  155. [20:12] Grendel Beo says, "Perhaps by a stroke of chance. I am not a easy target to miss."
  156. [20:13] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "Is there an Inn or something in the village? I need to rest, and I don't feel like walking home just yet."
  157. [20:13] Grendel Beo says, "Hmm... There isn't an inn that I know of in the village, but there is one outside of it."
  158. [20:13] Grendel Beo says, "Follow me."
  159. [20:14] Sieghart Vaulkyr says, "Thanks, Grendel."
