  1. Disclaimer: BoTW isn’t a Zelda game it’s Skyrim with a Legend of Zelda skin
  2. Also I had to tier them because ones that are in tiers are incredibly hard to call
  3.
  4. S tier:
  5. 1. Twilight Princess: Best final boss fight in the game, best dungeon themes hands down, a world to explore that isn’t too large, a time where you actually get a traveling companion that you like. Items were also all really fun to use and incredibly innovative.
  6. 2. Skyward Sword: The story is incredible good, as well as having some decent ideas for dungeons, motion controls added a new dynamic to the game if they functioned more accurately it would be great, actually cared about characters for once.
  7.
  8. S- tier:
  9. 3. Link’s Awakening: one of the best 2d zelda experiences, awesome items that add for creative gameplay, new map and characters to explore and meet, plot twist, a lot of interesting puzzles in the dungeons because they’re 2d.
  10. 4. Ocarina of Time: pretty good game, best jump to 3d, revolutionizing, pretty good story and final boss fight, sheik being an important character, interesting bosses and temples, time travel is pretty cool but child is boring.
  11. 5. Majora’s Mask: Many characters you can be friends with, really like the focus on masks and the ability to play as characters of different races, the idea of being able to roll as a goron or swim as a zora was always really cool to me, cool bosses, stone tower temple is also a really good dungeon while other dungeons are a little lacking, helping out the townspeople is an important focus of the game and changes the experience.
  12. 6. Minish Cap: Great game, Ezlo is radical, too short of a game. I’ve always rather enjoyed games that Ganon isn’t the main final boss unless done right, as it gets a little repetitive after a time. Vaati is a cool character and the final boss right is really good, palace of winds is also a very good dungeon, a map to explore in both sizes which is pretty cool and adds a new element to gameplay.
  13.
  14. A+ tier:
  15. 7. Oracle of Seasons: really cool you can change seasons as well as travel to a new world, concept of traveling from world to world with different people, new map, new boss but the boss is pretty irrelevant in the game, cool 2d dungeons as well as awesome items, magnetic gloves are the coolest item in any legend of zelda game hands down.
  16. 8. Link Between Worlds: Another interesting mechanic that opens up the entire map, Link between worlds, as well as the ability to buy and upgrade items and you can do dungeons in any order. I was personally not a fan of that as I really like progression through getting items in dungeons and like a more linear path. The reason I prefer Link Between Worlds as opposed to Link to the Past is because I felt more engaged throughout during Link Between Worlds, where Link to the Past isn’t as interesting as the double cross going on with Hilda (awful name).
  17. 9. Link to the Past: Pretty tough game which is a great thing, as well as a lot of dungeons. Not a big fan of how the dark world is pretty much just a harder main world, boss fight is pretty cool with pig ganon in 2d. Dungeons feel more like a hassle than a cool experience and something I want to explore.
  18.
  19. A tier:
  20. 10. Wind Waker: Cool that you get to explore a wide ocean and several islands, most of the islands are just gimmicks though. Sailing is slow but fixed in the HD version, boss fight is kind of cool but feels unnecessary (why is ganon a fucking worm). The final scene is very good, aesthetic is great, dungeons are rather lacking though, especially with having to babysit a character throughout one, items are also kind of lacking as opposed to other games.
